One necessity: MLB The Show 15/16 animations

    That would be:
Complete signature walk up, step in/step out animations for every starting batter. No more cutting the animations short, handing out generics or showing the pitcher to disguise things. Each and every starting batter should walk up and go through their individual at bat practice swing & various nuance (where the heck is Nomar when ya need him?). No matter how minuscule it might be.. needs to be there. EXTREME DETAIL is what this generation is all about!!
The signature animations need to catch up with all the progress that has been made over the last 2 years with lighting, trxturing, etc... All new strike out animations for batters is needed as well.

Hate to bring this about but check out 2K Sports MLB 2K8 for reference. I mean it's ridiculous to bring up a game from back then that not many considered great. Fact is, they captured most batter & pitcher animations down to a tee. I mean almost everything for starters! If only we could get that kind of attention to animation to go along with the look of this series on PS4.

Absolutely love The Show and I always play it to death, but I agree with this. Player models are one thing, but batting stances and pitching motions should always be accurate to start a season. I don't understand why not every pitcher and batter has their own accurate stance/motion at the start of a game's life cycle. What you're saying is taking it one step further, which would be great too.
I just hope the developers turn their focus towards making the players look, feel, and move as realistic and accurately as possible. The gameplay is great, and the graphics look good as long as they continue to improve them. Players need to get some attention now.

Pictures like This remind me how the 2k series did get the presentation and ATMOSPHERE of the MLB right. This picture makes me feel like I'm sitting in that seat there in the ball park. The Show always has great graphics and solid gameplay, but they really do need a presentation revamp. And they do unfortunately need to take ideas from the 2k series for that.

100% agree with what you guy are saying!

Sony definitely should take a look at MLB 2K games to get some great ideas for how to improve the TV style presentation.

Re: One necessity: MLB The Show 15/16 animations

100% agree with this, I was actually thinking about this myself recently, especially the part about player animations in between pitches and getting back into the box. Almost all of them are generic and basically just snap back into the players batting stance.

I was watching a video of mlb 2k7 and Jeter was batting and when he got back into the box, it looked exactly like he does it in real life, digging in, putting his hand up towards the umpire, everything.

The Show needs to do a better job of catching players individuality on the field, starting with player models and going into the things they actually do on field.

Been wanting this for years now.

Instead of seeing a frozen screen during game loading they instead could be showing like you said fans coming into the stadium and maybe even showing them buying food and stuff

I just watched some gameplay from 2k7 and was blown away. The animations and announcers were better than MLBTS is now! Plus jerseys flapped in the breeze. I also dug the outside concessions stuff. It made it feel like there was a world outside of the field.

yes the things that game had amazed me and its sad 7 years later we havent seen nothing like that. Details like that make the game more realistic.

The one area i wish to see more improvements is the area of catcher animations. The catchers don't seem to have the same range or movement of range of real catchers.

does anyone understand what i am trying to say that might be able to word it better and more clearly?

This is the video I used to get that screenshot, but the first minute and 5 secs or so shows what the Show needs.

I can't believe people are using 2K's products to support their arguments. Nobody cares about the presentation when the food tastes bad. This is all icing on the cake you're talking about here.

Miles ahead of it's time graphic wise, not so much gameplay wise.
