Definitely not playing on legend with max speed...
While in theory I agree that increasing pitch speed should help, the reality is it leads to other problems for me anyway instead.
What I mean by this is that I am happy with my variety of hits, doubles, runs etc but lacking on the so's.
By increasing pitch speed while perhaps helping so's also for me leads to me being late on everything and having far too many balls put into opposite field which is leading to less overall hits, runs, hr's.
As it stands now it is like a pick your poison type thing.
I was just hoping that this year they had shrunk the PCI a bit back to how it was a couple of years ago..

Compilation of all Q&A (I hope). Largely Nemesis early on, TheSlab chiming in part way and then Nomo with a couple at the end so far.

Nem commented on this a few pages back and said that during his time he couldn't recall a pitcher getting hit.

To piggyback on WTNY's question about dingers...how about those HR's that leave the park in only a few seconds and never clear more than 50 feet above the ground? I don't think I ever saw one in '14 and attributed it to a lack of batted ball speed.

I think he also said something about not usually hitting balls up the middle. Regarding game play, this pitcher getting hit was a real annoyance for me. At least once the ball hit pitcher in the face and still fielded it and threw out the runner.

They have not changed, they did some work with the OSD for the default base running to help identify what is going on the base paths.

is there anything new with pickoffs? Are we able to control the baserunner ourselves instead of it being all automatic? And new ratings for pitchers in regards to pickoffs?

Just read through this whole thread. I wish I saw it earlier! I'll just post all my questions at once, assuming I haven't missed the bus.

                          1) Nemesis/SLAB, you guys touched on someone's post about baserunning OSD, but you didn't actually answer whether there will be any indication if a baserunner is stealing a base? Will we get some sort of indicator or warning for it? Or is it still a complete guessing game like in past years? This is something I consider very important, as it's been miserable trying to control the running game the last few years.

                          2) My second question... does the CPU still perform diving catches with a super-human level of proficiency?

                          3) How did you feel about foul balls, and about pop-ups? With foul balls, were they still all hanging around in-play (catchable, near the batter)? Were there still too many fair pop-ups and pop-ups in general?

Just so we are on the same page here, you can't give specifics because of an NDA on ball physics? Or are you just saying that it's not something you are comfortable talking about? IE can we expect specifics at a future time?

But I'm not asking about a new count being generated when a pitcher is brought in mid-inning (which was how Ramone addressed this previously). I'm asking about the bug where the new pitcher wasn't being credited with the AB's results.

ETA: I guess it's maybe a matter of perspective so on second thought "bug" was the wrong word. In my "Quick Counts Fantasy" the new pitcher is the one who got the new count, not the one being subbed. I guess I can see how others would view this as a pitcher being subbed out mid-at bat. But that rarely happens in the real MLB so I was hoping this was addressed or could be looked in to.

Double ETA: Wait a second. LOL! What is the official MLB rule on the pitcher of record for a pitching change made mid-at-bat? If the pitcher that ends the at bat gets the credit, then the game had it wrong last year any way but I honestly have no clue!
The official rule is that pitcher #1 (the one being replaced) is credited with the walk if the count is 2-1 or 2-0. In other words, behind in the count AND at least two balls. Coincidentally, for batters, if batter #1 has 2 strikes against him when he's replaced, he's credited with the strikeout, regardless of how many balls there are.

So your request is within reason. There are a few situations where quick counts would cause the walk to be credited to the wrong pitcher.

Of course this is all assuming The Show doesn't have some "secret" mechanic that transfers the count to the new pitcher in quick counts... which is something worth mentioning. It's entirely possible that even though the quick count predates the pitcher/batter, The Show automatically pretends it was the new pitcher that made the count that way.

Chased pitches - how many outs per game relative to hits per game on chased pitches?

Is there more offense this year on default sliders than in mlbts 14?

                            Thank you.
