I am not 100% sure to be honest. I dont feel like it is dramatically moving to other places when I am moving the PCI.

I have not seen a dramatic movement like that. It tends to stay pretty true to where I have it placed.

Maybe they figure to many K's if it doesn't help you to some degree but still I'd prefer it didn't help at all. That is what timing should be for.

it does move, but youre right nothing really dramatic and not sure why it would with zone is just my main thing

You have to remember this is SCEA's interpretation of zone hitting which is different than the all or nothing zone systems in other games. It is not just a sole reflex system, it is taking all the components/variables of hitting and aiding the system.

I think the mechanism of PCI slightly moving after swing (even with Zone) is indirectly explained in the Strategy Guide, in relation to how the placement of PCI helps with timing a pitch.

Basically, PCI in The Show is a representation of what is supposed to be 3D simulation of bat swing. Most hitters' swing plane is not level against a pitch and tends to be slightly uppercut. When he squares up, the bat hits the ball square which means the baseball should be mostly at the center of PCI. When a hitter swings a bit early, however, he tends to make a contact with the upper part of baseball (because the ball sinks a bit while the bat moves slightly above the plane of optimal contact), so to simulate this, the PCI moves a bit above the baseball. The opposite happens when the hitter is a bit late.

That's why you tend to pull and ground out more when you are early, but pop up weakly to the opposite field when swinging late.

I think it's done pretty well in the game right now.

I wonder did they redo the commentary, its suppose to be three people in the booth but its only two talking hmm...plus i hope when you are getting closer to the playoffs the games become more intense and more exciting, especially when its game 130-162

Have non roster invitees been added this year so you dont have to add a minor leaguer to the 40 man in order to get him to ST?

They are discussing franchise mode this week in the stream/blog. So I would wait and ask this question then.

I only say this because I'm not sure the CD guys can answer this question due to franchise mode being talked about yet.

Question to piggyback off the stamina discussion earlier in the franchise thread:

For analog pitching, is getting the red in the meter (by ripping the stick up once you've set accuracy) equivalent to going into the red on Meter Pitching? Which is to say, it gives greater performance but expends more stamina? If so, yikes - I find it extremely hard to land in the yellow/orange which probably means I'm burning out my pitcher too fast.

Also, that whole discussion in the other thread got me thinking about fooling around with pulse pitching to figure out how many pitches a guy is capable of making without suffering a performance loss. Because I believe Pulse is the lone pitching mechanic where you cannot choose to put extra effort (and stamina) into a pitch.

IIRC, I think both are designed to be tied to the "effort," so it's likely you have been putting more effort into your Analog pitches by flicking the stick up very fast. (If you don't like to be penalized much in terms of stamina/energy, then one thing you could do is to increase the Stamina slider up one or two).

This is my old experiment, but I think the effect of effort is a lot more subtle than it seems (http://www.operationsports.com/forum...&postcount=194).

It's been said that all the interfaces are designed (or at least intended) to yield similar results... so I bet with Pulse you are basically simply pitching with "medium" effort for all pitches.
