    Re: Question about pitching interfaces

I've used Analog since its beginning. It feels much better than the others to me.

In your opinion.... The show has analog pitching perfect in mine.

That means only if the Show junks their analog for a 2k type analog,
not if they add a 2k type in addition to keeping the current?
        T-BONE.

        Talking about things nobody cares.

My only real gripe with the analog system besides the redundancy of the pitching motion in the Show is the lack of consistency in controlling the amount of effort you put into each pitch. Sometimes I go max effort on a breaking ball I want to go slow and sometimes when I try to blow away a batter I throw it slow. Besides pulse pitching you have complete control with Meter and Classic pitching. If they could improve the ability to control pitch effort I can live with the repetitive motion

Actually I didnt like the pitching in 2k but it was intuitive and innovative at the time. The Shows analog interface is much simpler and it can be robust.

It was universally known that the best thing 2k had was its pitching gameplay followed by the stats and presentation. Everything else was terrible lol.

I guess that is my opinion because I dont care enough to do research or a poll on the subject.

I use Pulse because I think it is the most realistic representation of pitching in real life. You aim for an area around the strike zone and if you get it spot on you can spot the ball on a dime and if you get it wrong the ball could end up quite far away from where you want it.

I also like the simplicity of it.

I'd have to agree with Ed, pulse is great for allowing you to see the beautiful pitching animations in the game but still have some user involvement in the outcome.

I like that the entire pulse mechanic is done before the windup starts.

I feel like classic and pulse are the same in that way

But i find myself waiting on pulse forever on some pitches because you have to wait for the circle thing to get small

I lost so many games because my players would get under a fly ball and just let it hit them. It was maddening.

i was thinking of it more as an addition, not a replacement for the current setup.

I just liked the way it made you really struggle to get solid pitches when a pitcher was getting tired or rattled. With the gauge filling up more quickly when being tired, you had to be a bit more sharp when choosing pitches. It was easy to throw fastballs, but curveballs with a tired pitcher became a real gamble later in the game when he was tired and getting into the high pitch counts.

I actually made a video talking about each interface:
