Or, is it just their likliness that's removed? Jeter will still be Jeter, stats and all, just not look the same? That's not a big deal if that's all it is.

Re: A problem with year to year saves
We just heard from Ramone...that it's only SCEA MLB players that it happens too....so no matter what roster you used last year or beyond....it's the same players.

Re: A problem with year to year saves
I just meant using the default rosters instead of a community one since those guys would be reset anyhow.
I thought Ramone said just their likeliness is removed? Does that mean what they look like, or name as well? If it's name and other things like career stats being reset, I am debating whether or not to use OSFM rosters moving forward as it'll just be reset next year, with no other way aside from a manual update to fix it.@MikeLowe47 | YouTube | Discord

On any roster you use...the same players are going to be "removed".
On the games default roster for this year, they won't exist at all....(but that's not a Y2Y save...that would be a new franchise) and on any franchise save from last year, with any roster as the base...the same players will have their likeness removed.
I believe it's going to be image and name. Hopefully with that, you can rename and edit the player image as well..so you can either put him back to whatever player he was(to the best of each persons ability obviously with the face)

I understand when it comes to Jeter and his likeness. But players out last year due to injury? Am I reading his post wrong?Last edited by aukevin; 03-30-2015, 12:48 PM.

I think you answered what he was asking with your last paragraph.
I also wouldn't be surprised to see career statistics go away as well since that could be considered player likeness.Comment

Re: A problem with year to year saves
Ok, so this poster is saying that players like Kris Medlen who were out all year due to injury are removed from his game save when he used year to year save, right? That's how I read it.
I understand when it comes to Jeter and his likeness. But players out last year due to injury? Am I reading his post wrong?
I understand the retired guys....I didn't think that the MLBPA rules applied to injured members.
I'm just wondering how it looks for the players to be removed with the franchise saves.
As for career stats....I hope they don't get wiped.
However...I see a wishlist item if these things are removed.

Re: A problem with year to year saves
Yeah, it's defiintely a bit of a bummer. I'm in June right now in my 2014 season and was going to use this year to get caught up (since it was a late start last year). Now, I'm not sure my approach--the file (rosters, etc.) is going to get messy quick. Even if we wait for rosters this year, I doubt anything can legally change for MLB 16.
I guess I'm curious to hear everyone's plan of attack with this. If it were just the faces of some guys, hell who cares--but stats and names is a big challenge that I'd rather not have to mess with. But what are my other options?@MikeLowe47 | YouTube | Discord

Re: A problem with year to year saves
With that said, I'm still confused on what's happening with Y2Y saves. It sounds like the OP is missing players who are/were injured but not retired. They sound like players who are still part of the MLBPA but are not in the game's default rosters.
Now, I believe Ramone answered the question earlier by saying it depends on the roster you are using. So, maybe I can rephrase the question with a little more clarity on what I don't understand.
Q1: Do created players or edited fake players retain their names and other attribute based modifications? For example, OSFM minor leaguers that were edited last year.
Q2: Real life retired players will have their likenesses removed in Y2Y saves. Got it. But will players from MLB 14 who have not retired but are not in the default rosters also have their likenesses removed? Because it sounds like Kris Medlen and Derek Jeter are essentially receiving the same treatment (which makes sense) but I'm not 100% certain about this. Basically, if a player was licensed in MLB 14 but is not licensed in 15, are they treated the same way as players who have retired since MLB 14.
Thanks and I hope that makes sense.Comment

Re: A problem with year to year saves
IGN's article on Y2Y saves
Pretty much everything from MLB 14: The Show's varied modes will find its way into this year's game. All of your accolades, record stats, and even Hall of Fame inductees will still show up this season. And after you've spent an insane amount of hours perfecting your custom player or teams, it's nice to know they won't disappear into the ether year after year.
On the same note, while you'll obviously get updated schedules for the 2015 baseball season, all of your roster changes, pending arbitrations, and team standings will also carry over. And if you're hoarding those always important training points from Road to The Show, you'll still have them in MLB 15.
There are two exceptions to year-to-year saves, however. First, Stubs--a sort of in-game currency in The Show--will not carry over. Of course, you could just load up last year's game and spend them all first before transferring your save. And secondly, players who retired since last season will appear in spirit--with prior stats still intact--but their names and likenesses will be wholly different.
"Since they're no longer part of the Player's Association, we can't legally have them in the game," said San Diego Studio's Ramone Russell.Comment

Re: A problem with year to year saves
Does anyone know how the game cross-references rosters?
I'm thinking, let's say Kris Medlen is indeed not on the Default Roster but does in fact become apart of SCEA's next live roster. Would the game cross reference the most recent official roster and thus allow Medlen to be imported?
If so, perhaps it would benefit some players to wait with Y2Y saves until their most important players go live.Comment

I think you meant which players would be intact...in your last part of your post....no way to import players mid franchise(YET...Ramone did say they were looking into it....POSSIBLY for a patch this year)....which would solve the problem(if they also allowed us to export/import real players...which would also have to happen.

Re: A problem with year to year saves
My .02 would be this
1) If its a created player, then nothing will change with that player.
2) If was an actual MLBPA player last year, then the face/name will change. Stats will be the same. I think of Barry Bonds wasn't in the PA when he was approaching 755. He had a different name and number but his stats were the same. So Derek Jeter could be swapped to NYY #2 with a new face. Career stats would stay the same but the name/face wouldn'tLast edited by ezevthokie9; 03-30-2015, 02:05 PM.Comment

Re: A problem with year to year saves
A little off subject and it may have been covered already but I was wondering. Can the rosters I have created (5 classic roster years) be imported into 2015 through the cloud ONLY in franchise mode or can I transfer the roster itself for exhibition games?Comment
