I'm a little worried this type of trade would be considered, why do you think it's fair?

Oh, and a few pages back you suggested a good value for Schoop would be Gordon and a piece from the Royals. I strongly feel that you are way over valuing Schoop and even further under valuing Gordon.
      Sums it up perfectly

That's very troubling. Whereas Hamels is on a pretty friendly deal considering the production; good for 200+ innings, right around 200 k's, all with an xFIP under 3.50 and a WHIP under 1.20, and worth about 4.5-5 WAR. This is still an elite ace, and Longoria may not be able to justify a top ten ranking at his own position by the end of the season.

Have you seen hamels last 3 games?

The .400 OBP is great and all, but he's still striking out roughly 17% of the time, and he's yet to show any signs that would suggest his decline in BABIP and ISO are simply a fluke.

This is why decisions aren't made based on two weeks of baseball.
Just like hamels isnt getting any help..can you name another hitter on the rays? Longoria has no help around him.
none of the three starts hamels has had show is an "elite ace"... Longoria still an elite player defensively and offensively

            Thanks mate.

Yeah you're right about being in a tough spot. Not the youngest team that's for sure!

I'll see how Peavy goes, hopefully he can do a job while waiting for the other guys to develop.

Re: MLB 15 trade discussion thread

As a lifelong Red Sox fan I obviously love some of their players but I don't want to start with them because I feel it's pretty easy of a team to have dominating the league with their budget and current offensive juggernaut of a lineup lol.

As a season ticket holder I follow the team closely so I know Betts, and Bogaerts are untouchable in any realistic trades as they are both 22 and many peg them as future studs especially Bogaerts who has been raved about for years by scouts.

My question is there any team I could start with to send them a solid deal based around an elite veteran pitcher to snag both? Maybe not in realism terms more fairness cause I know the Sox are extremely unlikely to deal either in real life.

              Thanks

Starting a franchise with Atlanta. I know it is unrealistic the Rockies trade Arenado, but I can live with that. I do however want to make it fair or even over pay alittle for the sake of some realism. I am using the O.S. rosters. Thoughts? Thanks!

I think Sonny Gray could be an idea. Also, maybe I am just crazy but since the Nationals have so much pitching including Lucas Giolito, Maybe a Strasburg deal could be swung.

                  Just my two cents.

Appreciate the help I don't care about overpaying to be honest I just want to have those 2 as part of my core but not be the Red Sox cause I find it too easy.

Got my first win last night. I play 1, sim 5, and yesterday was the first game I won that I played. Beats the Mets 2-1 on a walkoff double from Brendan Ryan.

                        -EDIT-
Hamels posted a 4.9 WAR in 2011, per Fangraphs. It's being excessively picky to say, "he's never seen 5."
Lol, what? HR/FB isn't a skill. He also posted a near-career low in BABIP. Career low in BABIP, HR/FB, very troubling alright, couldn't be variance at all. His swinging strikes cut down by nearly 4%. He still put up 3.5 WAR in spite of all of that. He's projected for 4.5 fWAR, he's under control until 2022, he's 29, and making $11m.

Hamels is projected for 3.2 fWAR, is 31, making $22.5M, and he's a pitcher. There is no realm in which that's even remotely fair. I have no idea how you can POSSIBLY say that Longoria "might not even be top 10 at his position by the end of the year."

I'll do the value math if I need to but it isn't close. Longoria >>> Hamels.

In my redsox franchise, I'm thinking of trading Shane Victorino. I'm looking to trade him for a SP/ SP prospect. I was also thinking of trading one of my 4th of 5th SP for an outfield prospect. I have way too many outfields to use. I dont want to make any trade until everything is worked out. Thoughts?

I think it is a bit much, but Cam has talked me into the potential Shane for Ryan Cook (OAK) deal. RP, but best thing you can get and Cook is pretty good.

Then which SP do you want to deal off? Be easier that way to get a deal going.
