Thanks, I probably made it overcomplicated by wanting to make sure the Giants ended up with someone at 1B to take over for Belt. Marte + Kingham + Lambo + Sanchez for Belt + Susac? If I could shore up catcher at the same time I'd love to do that.

Why do you need to throw in all these other pieces? Kingham has value. Marte + Lambo for Belt + Susac + something nice works.

Okay, thanks. Think I'm just overvaluing Belt + Susac. Really appreciate your thoughts, sometimes I get so paranoid over ripping off the computer that I go too far the other way, haha.

Im looking to bring in a guy who will step in at CF on Alcantara's day off and play LF the other day and move to LF or RF full time when Fowler comes back. I want to moving Castillo because I hate having 3 catchers on my roster and Im ok rolling with Ross and Montero. Anybody in the minors besides Bryant and Russell can go for the right piece and Id really like to package Baez and Castillo if possible. Any ideas for me?

One guy I would really like to go after is Charlie Blackmon.
Why package Baez but not Russell?

Good one. Baez was the #5 prospect in all of baseball at 21 last year.
Russell, like Russell is this year. has a better defense but Baez is going to hit 20-25 HRs a year in Wrigley. Baez will also probably hit for the better average.

What would it take from the Cubs to get Matt Moore from TB and Carlos Carrasco or Bauer from the Indians?

i dont really like the Cubs young SP prospects (hoping we add some good young arms in the draft IRL)

Isn't Russell consensus #3 though? Or at worst #4. Bryant, Buxton, Russell/Sano, Sano/Russell. Consensus seems to at least be Russell>Baez. Russell's OBP/glove skills outweigh Baez's power/not much else.

That's a pretty bold statement...Since you sound so certain I'll throw out my prediction that says Baez won't be around by the time he can hit those 20-25 Homers a year. Russell is by far the better of the two and when all said is done, will also have the better average, on top of being better defensively.

                        Consensus seems to be #5.

MLB has Russell #5, John Sickles has Russell #5, scoutingbook has Russell #5, BA has Russell #3. most have Lindor ahead of him, who you forgot. Baez power is enough to overcome Russells OBP. he had 161 extra base hits in 319 games and an RBI in 2/3rds of his games with 238 RBI in 319, and thats including games he didnt get hits or runs. Glove skills are pretty even, Russell isn't anything great with his defense at SS, he has a "hitch" in his transfer that takes him a while to get rid of the ball.

HR hitter with heavy K issues. below average defense and not that great On-base skills. Russell gets on base, has a great glove, and can even get a few HRs.

He's really not though. Look above, 4 out of the 5 rankings i mentioned had him 5th. helps to use facts.

I get a good kick out of internet blowhards who think they know more then guys who get paid good money to do their job and evaluate prospects. i mean today is the first day im learning Baez isn't anything great for a reason, maybe MLB should just start leaning to the OS experts for advice?
