But if you are controlling the PCI in the left and right but diagonally wouldn't that mean that you cant control like how much to the left or right you are trying to put the PCI like you do in zone and has far has I know it says nothing like that in the game guide and only has pushing for the contact swing in the guide.

Re: Pure analog...
No, you have to push straight left or right for a contact swing. To control the PCI is much more subtle... Diagonally up and to the right or left is all you need for PCI control.
Although, the more I try to use contact swings with pure analog, the more I think the feature may be broken when it comes to the pure analog hitting mechanic. Every time I press straight left of right I end up whiffing with good timing while the PCI is in an extreme position all the way to the left or right of the strike zone... Is anyone else seeing this?Comment

Re: Pure analog...
That is what I mean if you push straight towards the left compared to at a angle I would think you are going to cover more of the left. Just looked and yes you have to push at a angle to place Your PCI either left or right and straight left or right for a contact swing so you where right my bad. Kind of a odd way to do it. I would think it would make more since to just have contact swing being like the o button or something like it was last year.Comment

Re: Pure analog...
Put in some more time with this yesterday and I think it is viable to use just the power swing with some slider tweaks to get a similar feel to the old pure analog. Playing on all star I set the contact slider up to 7, lowered power to 3, and raised the fouls to 6 Played 2 games and it felt pretty good. I'm confident with more play time that I can get something that works for me. It's not ideal but at least it keeps the mechanics of the swing the same while still simulating the weight shift.
I think I'm going to go and buy this game after all. I've never published any of my slider sets before but I'll keep you guys posted if anyone is interested.Comment

I've been changing hitting methods multiple times per game. I cannot seem to get the right "feel" for hitting yet.Comment

I also raised the timing window to give my bat a little extra time through the hitting zone. Good luck, man.Comment

Re: Pure analog...
Have you fiddled with the solid hit slider? In my brief time playing I didn't see enough weak hits so I'm going to lower that slider a bit. How long have you been experimenting with this?

I am currently using TNK HOF sliders and i haven't really changed anything as of yet..wanna play a few more games before i start making my own changes so haven't really touched whatever seetings timing windows is set at.Comment

Re: Pure analog...
No.
You can use the left stick to adjust the vertical position of your PCI. This can be confirmed in the in-game menu under "stategies & tutorials?" in the sub-menu 'other' i think.
Can anyone confirm if swing influence is still in for pure analog? Do i just have to push up, left or right before the pitch? I have been doing this already and it seems to be making a difference but i cannot say for sure.Comment

Re: Pure analog...
Adding my name to the list of people annoyed about this. I booted the game up, it took me a while to even find out how to edit the settings to zone analog. And once i started hitting I surely thought there was a bug. I normally pull back on the right stick to see the player lift the leg, and then boom crush the ball. That combined with lifting up on the right stick to bunt, and pressing square, x, and circle for the different types of hitting made zone + analog the most enjoyable form of hitting for me.
It really baffles me to come up with reasons as to why they would all of a sudden change it. Like from mlb 11 to 14, everything was A ok. But all of a sudden form 14 to 15 people couldn't deal with the pain and horror that is pure analog and SCEA rushed to fix it. It makes no since. And to change it to this, this almost warrants a return for me and a strike until they fix it.
How in the world is it natural to swing to the left or right for contact swings? And for power swings, when you pull back, it has no effect on the timing or the lifting of the leg so what is even the point of pulling back. It just feels wrong whichever way you look at it.
And who cares if we are in the minority, if the minority of the people who play madden punt on 4th down, do you just remove punting on 4th down, for me if were on these powerful consoles, why can't SCEA put two types of Analog hitting, the current, f'd up version, and the one from prior years, everyone would be happy and this thread wouldn't exist. /rantBucs, Lighting, Rays,Comment

Re: Pure analog...
It is true that this hitting is basically stole from 2K. but to be honest i enjoyed it in 2K. Reasons i bought 2K over the show was the analog controls. Then switched over for 2011. I admit it has been trying and i two enjoyed the previous analog controls. But it gives me a strategy with swings if im ahead in the count with a power bat its power swing. down 1-2 0-2. contact or regular. Feels like im fighting for hits just like hitters have been lately. Considering offense in real life has died.~it puts the lotion in the basket~

Re: Pure analog...
I do not post on here much, just like to read the comments. However, I have to add my frustration about losing the stride as well. I, too, was loyal to the 2K version until I tried The Show 11. I fell in love with the stride aspect and it seemed like it was the closest you could get to really hitting. It was difficult but that added to the enjoyment. Worst decision they could ever make and I am not sure why they could not have kept it in as an option. I know they have said that they will not add it back in but I hope they see all of us that are frustrated and reconsider. I honestly did not even know about it until I read it here. Makes me not want to even play it at this point and go back to 14. Totally disappointed.Comment
