Been playing since 07 i believe. I first found the OSFM rosters 3 or 4 years ago. Before that i could play with the fake players just fine. Since then though I just cant do it. Thats also around the time i started to actually pay attention to what was going on down in the minors for KC. I just cant play without those guys now. I do start a franchise until OSFM is out. But when they drop im always starting over. I will keep playing my fantasy draft franchise after that though most likely. So im not completely giving up on it.

I do tend to have a hard time getting though a year in franchise mode in sports games for sever reasons my self.

      1. I play another games besides just sports games and with playing another games, working, watching sports, sleeping I just don't have the time like I used to. Heck once the NBA playoffs start in like 2 weeks I basically will not have any time to play for like a month lol.

      2. The one thing I hate about sports games it tends to take me a long time to get good sliders and my skill level doesn't match up with most people so even sliders that people tend to post on places like this don't really work for me most of the time. I would say back when I had more free time it would take me like a good month to get good sliders now it takes me like 3 months lol. Heck even though my result are pretty good I am still making adjustments to sliders on NBA 2k lol. I did start a MYLEAGUE just a few weeks ago though because of the player regression issue.

      3. I fell like patches over all have made things worse. Its nice you can fix things but at the same time I fell like because of that the people who make the games have gotten more lazy as there are a lot more major problems in games now days then there ever used to be. Fells like just about ever sports game has at least one major issue that either never gets fixed in franchise mode or that you have to weight like sever months to be fixed by a patch such has NBA 2K regression issue or madden and owner mode money issue and franchise mode is all I play in sports games don't care about online. Mode breaking big issue didn't use to be a problem in sports games like they are today. Even the show in the past has had some big issues in franchise mode. It has gotten to the point where if a sports game comes out and doesn't have at least one major issue with franchise mode I am shocked now.

Wow, this couldn't describe me more. I'm playing exhibition games until the opening day roster set next week just to get my dynamic difficulty adjusted and then I'm off with no restarts this year. I'm picking one team and playing 162.

Its a good point and great thread.

Think back to older MLB or any sports games, im in my 30s now and I remember games that I enjoyed that didnt have real names, or real team names.. heck, even real competition formats.

Gradually it started to get pieced together and you could do a season, maybe longer... real players and likeness came along, licenses exploded everywhere and we are now at a point where a game is released that I could only dream of..... YET I somehow get caught up in the hype or rut (neither bad btw) of waiting, waiting for that added bit of perfection. Chasing a rainbow essentially....

I mean games are there to have fun with and thats what we get out of a box. A franchise is your own story.... things happen in that for a reason, its a game and you take those bumps and rides and embrace them. Who cares if a Ruben Pedroza is called up from AAA to become Rookie of the Year, when in reality you look up the name in the phonebook and he is a 53 year old plumber from Texas..... let Pedroza be a part of your fantasy, give him a story, share it and enjoy it

Ive waffled, but reading this thread has bought this all home to me as well... so bring on the Larry Bush's, the Enrique Pelazo's and Chip Mellon's of this world, im ready for ya!

Re: Learning your lesson...go and play!

I always did the exact same thing waiting and restarting. With anticipating the Y2Y saves this year I went in and replaced all the retired players I could with prospects in 14, drafted a fantasy team as I always do anyway and played a complete spring training for the first time haha and then carried it over into to 15 and played my opening day with 15. It was really great doing it this way. The game plays really well on all star out of the box and I have tweaked nothing so far and have had great games I am on game 5 right now and have started 4-0 plus have played 2 minor league games. I'm loving the fact that I'm not worried about waiting this year. What's funny my team is playing really great right now after starting out with a rough first half of the spring and a good second half it hasn't missed a beat from 14 kind of incredible the way it has worked..I'm very happy with this game this year it is so far the best I have seen and I've played them all over the years...Just PLAY!!!

Superb post me ode mucker roolz, couldnt agree more.

Its pointless trying to get your game, and remember that, it is a game, to run in some sort of parallel with the real world, it just aint going to happen, so im going to take the SCEA Opening Day roster next week, set off into my franchise journey and just take what it gives me, be that Marvin Wallwein Jr, Earl Garcia or Pedro Hernandez II...im fed up with so much messing around the edges, its time finally with this game to just play

Re: Learning your lesson...go and play!

I am restarting for the last time this season.

Life got in the way last year, and I was never really able to get my franchise off the ground.

I just recently upgraded to a PS4, so I am making adjustments there also.

I will be waiting this season for the OSFM to drop, and in the meantime will be learning the new game through exhibition and ST games...

My reasoning for waiting is simple .... I plan to carry this franchise through multiple years of Show gaming, and now that I have jumped ship to the advance technology crowd, I feel confident in saves transferring seamlessly from year to year.

I am a "play all my games" gamer, and in the past have re-started multiple franchises for all the reasons everyone has listed.... WHY??? No clue, as I never made it more than one season anyway because my OCD of playing out every stat. Excited knowing that my Minor League guys will actually matter sometime in 2018 The Show.

                Let the Madness commence.

                  I could not agree more.

I already played the first game of my Online Franchise that I am playing with my brother. Playing as my Yankees, I beat the Toronto Blue Jays 7-0 (R.A. Dickey sucks lol). I have never finished a full season (162 games) on any Baseball game I have owned and I have practically played them all. This year will be different as the goal is 100% completion no matter what.

I will actually be posting a video of my Opening Day game soon on my YouTube page so look out for that. I am also aiming to stream the remaining 161 games on my twitch channel.

My procrastinating days are over I tell ya! OVER!!!!

Psycho I am so with u. Every year I am just like you and I wait and wait for rosters sliders then when I finally wait I don't want to play anymore. Lol lol I'm going to start mines either on Sunday or wait for the first roster update and finally complete my 162 games. Now the only hard part is picking a team lol

I agree with this as well. I exported the top prospects from my 2014 save and added them to their respective team, and I am ready to go as well.

Re: Learning your lesson...go and play!

I was patient enough to wait one day for the OSFM rosters before giving up and starting without. I found a top 150 prospects roster, added a few minor league guys I wanted in, and started a new franchise. I couldn't name more than a few minor league prospects anyway, and don't care that much if every player has accurate equipment so it really wasn't going to be worth waiting another month to be able to start.

But, Does anyone know if taking a Roster from last years game (a Roster with updated off-season MLB moves, but with all of the Hybrid/OSFM adjustments from last years version of the roster ) and loading into '15 will work?

I am not at home to test this, so figured I would ask here .....

Great thread PB! I wholeheartedly agree! Whilst I really appreciate the effort that you guys put into making the game more realistic with great rosters and sliders I find that year after year I'm obsessed with the smallest details and end up missing out on the big picture! Having FUN and enjoying the game for what it is!

I hope you guys have a blast with the game this year and remember life is already stressful as it is without making things even more complicated with a video game. It's SHOWtime my friends!

Roster no ... a Franchise or Season file that was started with the Hybrid OSFM Roster, yes. Just keep in mind that some player's likenesses will not be migrated because they are no longer in the SCEA game and in these cases these players will be renamed and assigned a generic face. Also, it appears to be a bug (hopefully something that will be patched), but you can not modify these players nor can you modify the likenesses of any OSFM generated players to reset their names or face and body settings after the Franchise or Season file is migrated. Clear as mud?

It appears in the Roster section that they found a work-around for this... A franchise file would work great if it was spring training (preferably) or Opening Day. Something about starting the file with Roster Control on???

Sorry, I am not in-tune with this process, as I am not a Roster Maker by any stretch ....
