    Re: MLB 16 Ideas!

Making this simple, things that have harmed the game by being taken out and judged as irrelevant.

Build a continuous presentation option for those who might not like being forced to quick play through their whole career, season, franchise, exhibition games. When I watch baseball, I don't dvr fast forward to every pitch so I can watch the game playout in under 60 minutes. There was satisfactory effort put into this in 2010 and 2011 editions especially. Making SOTS pop the best it has ever been allowed to do so.

Place the zone + plus analog swing control mechanism back in the game after what is hopefully just a one year hiatus / ultimate april fools joke.

    It's time for retractable roofs.

Shame I can't suggest things that would advance the game in many other areas, there are certain core elements of the game now that need to be the focal point, hopefully the upcoming developments will be effective.

      Re: MLB 16 Ideas!

      1) Expanded Player/Team stat tracking. Would love to see all of a player's career stats, teams they played for, and awards they received over the course of their career. Common Sabremetrics like WAR would be great to have as well. Stats exportable to Excel if possible!

      2) Create-a-Stadium/Expansion teams. Would love to be able to create a stadium for Franchise mode so that if I make it to 2017 before MLB 17 the Show, I can play in a stadium similar to the Braves' new SunTrust Park. It would also be cool to create stadiums that look similar to those of the minor league affiliates.

      3) Upgraded injury system, similar to the concept of NBA 2K15's. If a player has Tommy John surgery, it would be nice to see some effects caused by the injury (based on severity). (Drop in velocity/range, or decrease in durability or higher chance of re-injury to that body part, decrease in potential, etc) Injuries have shattered dreams of some top prospects, so it would be nice to see something similar in the Show...or would be gratifying to watch one of your prospects fight back from injury to have a long, successful career.

        Expansion team
Variety of announcing team(keep the current team and add a new one)
Fielding Camera angle (similar to high) but zooms out and in from camera behind plate high (press box)

Actually I would like to change mine,

          1. More choices for secondary position like the random guys in the rosters. I want to have a real utility guy.

          2. More minor league stadiums

          3. Negotiate contracts during the year

            1. More sliders for hitters - how a hitter does vs fastballs (4 seam, 2 seam, Cutter, Sinker, etc), breaking pitches (sliders, curves), offspeed pitches (changeups, palmballs) and specialty pitches (knuckle balls).

            2. A separate slider for durability and energy. One for a players ability to play consecutive games without fatigue, another for how fragile a player is.

            3. A way to differentiate between plate difference and aggressiveness in the strike zone. Tony Gwynn and Wade Boggs didn't walk a lot, but they rarely struck out. The downside to the current setup is if you have a high plate vision and low plate discipline is the CPU will sill chase bad pitches. Make it where players can be aggressive on strike one without chasing a bad pitch.

This was able to be done in MVP 2005 and I believe MLB 16 on the PS4 could pull this off.

              Re: MLB 16 Ideas!

              1) Better baseball sounds. I understand the game is meant to feel like we are watching a game on TV, but certain parts of the game, I feel, could have some more attention on them to better immerse us in the actual game....Examples:
              - Batters digging into the box, the sound of metal spikes scratching the dirt is a very unique sound. Think of how many baseball movies seem to focus on this in tense situations.
              - Pitchers occasionally grunting when they release a pitch
              - Pitches hissing as they near the batter
              - The different sound between different types of contact (solid, jammed, end of the bat, broken bat, etc.)
              - The difference between a changeup and 95 MPH fastball hitting the glove
              - The sound of the foot hitting the bag and the ball hitting the glove on a bang-bang play at first.
              - The sound of the first baseman slapping the tag hard on a close pickoff play.
              - The sound of a runner sliding in trying to breakup a double play
              - The sounds of a runner hauling down the line and the sound of a collision at the plate
              - The sound of an umpire making a loud call on a close play and variations of the calls (No No He's safe, he's in there, he beat it, no tag, missed the tag, etc.)
              - The sound of an outfielder colliding with the fence
              - The sound of an infielder diving, sliding, etc.

Some of these sounds exist, but are almost muted and masked by the commentary. I think a focus on some of these sounds would help immerse the player in the game. Somehow they can figure out away to layer these in with the commentary.

              2) As someone else stated, I would love to see mini-games used in spring training to drive boosts to player ratings or even allow players to make changes to their game (pitchers add a new pitch, fielders play a new position)

              3) As someone else stated, the miss on pitches should be more tied into the users input instead of just random misses and feels unnatural. In my opinion, a late press of the button should be the same as a late release by the pitcher, causing the pitcher to overthrow and miss low and in the direction he was aiming. An early press would cause the pitch to sail.

If I want to throw a curve down and away. If my release is late, I'm going to bury that pitch in the dirt.

If I am trying to backdoor a sinker on the outside corner and release early, that pitch is going to sail back over the plate.

                  1) Upgraded injury system, similar to nba 2k15. Progressive injuries that can cause long term impairment in some cases. (see xNobleEaglex's post)

                  2) Variable facial hair. Would be cool to see a bearded player shave off his beard and suddenly go with a mustache or similar. Would add another level of immersion.

                  3) More attention paid to Quick Counts mode. System should include some 0-0 counts where hitter swings at first pitch etc.

New commentary team - Gary thorne and harold reynolds would be a great addition to this series.

Online Community - Have a user be able to create a password and set difficulty setting and sliders. Send out invites to like minded players to join the community and play online games with any teams against each other within the community.

Sounds of the show - The ability to use this feature on ps4 version.

                          1. Updated PA: At least try to get a new PA announcer. The Texas Rangers guy has an incredible voice and does it very professionally but knows how to keep it fun. Also, I have to be biased for Casey Motter, voice of the Braves.

                          2. More Alternate Jerseys: Something like Alternate A, Alternate B, Alternate C. Maybe less throwback options with the substitute of more modern day alternate jerseys.

                          3. More Classic Stadiums: There have been times where I would love to play at the Astrodome or Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium.

                            1. New Commentary - The current commentary is just bland now.

                            2. Continued improvement of franchise mode - make it like 2k/Madden. I love the factoring in of twitter in those games. Have people from MLB Network/ESPN/Fox etc, listed in the game covering the sport in a "fake" twitter. Also, adding things like player morale and things of that nature. Also, continue to build on radio show.

                            3. More Stats - Bring on the sabermetrics.

                              1. Variety in Commentary. I'd love the real commentators for every team just like you have the real broadcast angles. I know this would be impossible, but even being able to choose from a couple of teams would be so nice. Very stale right now

                              2. Expansion mode

                              3. Something between broadcast mode and fast play as an option. Maybe you want to see key homerun replays, strikeouts, amazing catches, but want fewer cut aways. Something in the middle would be very nice.

                              Thanks

Gotta expand trades so that you can have more than 3 players to a side. Trading a big star who's about to get paid for a haul of cheap prospects is a time-honored tradition.
