    Re: MLB 16 Ideas!

    1. A true POV camera for pitching and batting. As it is now E. Offset Catcher is pretty close, but I want to actually be able to stand tall in the box and look out at the mound. The way you can hit R3 and get a look at the defense, I would like to be able to bat from something like that perspective.

    2. Pure Analog batting were I can control the stride of my player.

    3. Player collisions, specifically for the outfield.

      1. Roster file transfer from year to year
      2. Retractable roofs. Simply having an "open" and "closed" setting before the game will do. Sick of playing 30 degree games at Miller Park.
      3. Improved physics between players. Fielders able to collide, actual physical contact during slides instead of just a few predetermined animations.
I play sports games and spend way too much time making rosters.

        Re: MLB 16 Ideas!

Since I only play RTTS, here are my 3 suggestions.

1 - Individual stats, who's hot or cold, full standings, etc. in pre-game presentation. Since I'm only batting and fielding when involve, I have no idea who's playing great or not on the opposing team.

2- More involvment between teammates when scoring. If it's not a homerun, the guy coming to the plate is walking toward the batting box like I'm not there, and vice versa.

3- Possibility to import a player build from players created by other people. For exemple, if I want to use Dr. Sublime created players, I have to write down every single aspect of the player and then create it myself. We should be able to create the guy from the download we did in the vault.

Thanks for your time and dedication in doing this Russell.

          1. Bring back Pure Analog hitting with stride: I know not a ton of people used it but those who did were hardcore and there was a long thread of disappointed fans. Why take it out instead of just increasing options for people who want "simple". Pure Analog with stride was challenging, mimicked a real swing about as well as you can with a controller, and was very rewarding when you got the hang of it. Feature touted for years then suddenly removed/changed.

          2. Atmosphere - I know positive changes have been made over the years but still needs work. Crowd has improved a lot but should show more personality and excitement. Standing in big moments, reacting more passionately to situations, etc. Hard to describe but there was an NCAA football game a while back that did atmosphere really well. Still much improved crowd over even a couple years ago.

          3. Collisions - Takes away seeing guys run through each other like ghosts. Introduce collision detection. Outfield collisions, collisions at the plate, etc.

            Re: MLB 16 Ideas!

            1. Revamp catcher animations. They're too robot-like behind the plate. The blocking animations are really stiff, the throwing animations look weird, there's no differentiation in framing or receiving. I would love to see these redone.

            2. Player differentiation through traits. Very similar to phant's post above, but more than just for fielders. I want guys who will pimp balls they think are HRs, but fall short and they may only get a 1B (on that note, I think the HR swing animations should play out more frequently, but take the camera out of it; Guys know when they got one, even if it's a fence-scraper. I think more HRs should have the no-doubt animation, even if it's not necessarily a no-doubter by the game's current standard). More aggressive mistakes, hell, more mental mistakes in general. Make the game more random.

            3. More proper excitement out of the crowd. I want to see (and hear) things like this happen in a video game:

              1. Less certainty with ratings in franchise mode. Each team should have their own scouts give there scouting grades for each player (have a setting for accuracy). This changes everything. If I know ratings aren't 100% reliable, it places more importance on production than just setting lineups based on ratings. Right now in the show, a guy hitting 300, but rated just 65 OVR, I know the success doesn't mean all that much going forward (unless he's in a temporary hot steak). His ratings tell me everything about how good he is with no gray area. On the topic of ratings, also include less predictability with rating progression for prospects, and even major leaguer's for that matter. Seems like projecting player progression is too easy. This would make giving long term contracts more of a gamble.

              2. Retracable roofs. The stadiums don't need the roofs to close mid-game or anything (although this would be nice eventually).

              3. Deeper stats and history tracking in Franchise

                1-Better minor league parks

2-have the wind like it was a few years ago where it actually played with the ball

3-have a on/off option for the quick zoom after making contact.

                  1. Ability to choose quick counts for while you are on offense only, pitching only or both.
                  2. Separate sliders for human and computer defense. In the past I have turned down defender speed and reaction because the computer outfielders always got to everything--and it helps a little for them. But it makes my human controlled players feel like they are completely stuck in cement.

                    1) More minor league stadiums.

                    2) Introduce A-ball teams.

                    3) Sounds of the Show.

True. I have hit some that are 15-20 rows back that aren't no-doubters. I hit one to the seats below/at the base of Mount Davis in Oakland that had to be like 460 feet that somehow wasn't a no doubter. Visual aid:

That's 400 feet to dead center, but the ball landed like 40 feet above the height of the CF wall... and my guy was sprinting out of the box like he wasn't sure if he got all of it lol. It really took away a little bit of the fun of hitting that homer because if there was ever a time to let me pimp a homer, THAT was it.

Tangentially related... I've been asking for this for like 4 years now but PLEASE show the distance on EVERY home run in RTTS. I can't tell you how many times it's flashed me the distance of some 360 foot wall scraper I hit, but then when I crush a mammoth blast it shows me nothing.

                        1) Better replay system. Something more cinematic. I'd like to see what it would have looked like had the game been on TV. I can't do that manually. Also, at the end of the game, have some screenshots taken for us so that we can upload them. Often when I do it in the middle of a big play, it takes me out of the moment.

                        2) Speaking of having a game look like it's on TV, we need a higher broadcast fielding camera angle. The one we have looks nothing like a TV broadcast. The medium angle looks closest.

                        3) When a pitcher is in trouble, have the camera pan over to the manager. I remember growing up when pitchers would get in trouble, Arne Harris would show Don Zimmer, Jim Lefebvre, Jim Riggleman, whoever was the Cubs' manager was at the time to see their reactions. And I'd like to see the manager actually climb out of the dugout when I do make the call to the pen.
Would the lady who left her nine kids at Wrigley Field please pick them up immediately? They are beating the Cubs 4-0 in the 7th inning!

                          1) Overhauled jerseys. More jerseys per a team (preferably all current jerseys and most classic jerseys), placement of logos, fonts, numbering, sizing, types (sleeveless jerseys, sweaters, etc) etc. Proper cloth physics as well. The jersey system in the game is really showing it's age.

                          2) dynamic changing weather, based upon historical data for the stadium over the past 10-20 years.

                          3) Franchise scheduling fixes, multiple schedules for future years so you eventually will rotate through playing all of the different opposing league teams.

1- Offline Franchise AI/ Gameplay Improvements - Continued enhancements to the AI of running/managing a ML baseball team, game physics, graphics, and stadium nuances.

2- Stadium/ Crowd button enhancer- A button input for the home team to pump up the crowd with music/organ play whenever I wish to use it.

3- MLB TV. Similar to what NBA 2K has. A TV style way of promoting the game of baseball. Have an energetic TV personality discuss ways of playing/promoting the Show and a means of communicating to us too.
