Re: Thoughts for MLB 16 the Show (offline)

A few things I want to see in MLB 16. Mostly Franchise mode though some of these could be applied to RTTS:

1.) Pitchers pitching on the correct side of the rubber / ability to move a pitcher from the first base to the third base side of the rubber. (This came to mind because of Luke Gregerson.)

2.) Ability to make multi-team trades. Ability to trade more than three players per side.

3.) Some sort of fan reaction (cheering/booing / player saluting the crowd or shaking his head based on reception, etc) when a player who's been traded or left via FA comes back.

4.) I want the CPU to shuffle the rotation in the postseason more. Not sure how they'd change this. I just want to see the CPU using David Price out of the bullpen or starting Clayton Kershaw on 3 days rest.

5.) Player morale/team chemistry. NHL introduced it this season and while it might need some tweaking, I like what it's brought to the game. I'd love to see MLB do something like this.

6.) Ability to send injured players to the minors on rehab assignments.

7.) Ability to use position players to pitch. I don't want to have to use a starter or stick with a reliever for six innings if a game goes long, or my team is getting blown out. I also think it would add a bit of realism/strategy too.

8.) Ability to convert a position player to a pitcher and vice versa.

9.) The return of Sounds of the Show.

One of my top priorities for years was carry over saves. They implemented it but with a major flaw. If you don't use 30 team control in your franchise you are forced into GM mode and ultimately will be fired.

Fix it so you aren't forced into GM mode is my #1 priority. It is a great game except for that in no way am I disparaging the game when I say I plan to keep this year's version of the game unless they fix carry over saves because I don't want to have to start over with my franchise.

This has probably been mentioned a million times, but I'd also like the ability to fire a manager mid-season.

This will probably never happen but I would love to see RTTS/franchise do something like NBA2k where you can upload a custom draft pool to draft from, rather than randomly generated MLB the Show players.

I'd like to see some sort of team/organizational strategy sliders too. Like stats/analytics heavy, traditional, a mix of both, etc.

Editing to add I'd love to be able to add retired players to the managing/coaching/scouting pool.

Kinda late to the party, but I just realized some exterior shots of the stadium during the pregame intros or between innings can help continue to make the stadium presentation even better and add even more of the little things that make The Show the best sports game out there when it comes to the details.

Well here's my WISHLIST for MLB 16...

MLB 16 THE SHOW MOBILE APP:
Yes! A mobile app. Where you can do manager mode while you're not at home or near a console. Check on what's happening in your franchise. Check your franchise emails regarding your teams budget/marketing/player injuries/trades/signings etc. other league news/rumors. Check season standings and upcoming schedules. Change/adjust line up or rotation. Check rosters for any moves or trade offers. You all get the idea. A phone app would bring so much more depth and realism to your MLB franchise. It's 2015 guys I mean everyone is on their phones these days so why not bring some fun to your franchise and see what's going on while your away from your console. I mean not all of us can play 162 games every day so if you can do manager mode via your phone then I'd be so sold on this idea. I mean FIFA has it for the Ultimate Team mode. Why can't MLB 16 have this feature?

So anyway onto my franchise mode wish list:

                Let's start!

Add World Series and post season patches to caps and jerseys. All star game use MLB team jerseys to whichever team each player is on because it makes it feel like an all star game. Continue Year to Year saves because it's one of my favorite features of this franchise.

Realistic CPU trades/front office moves in season and off season.

Optional manager arguments to argue a call and ejections. Ejections and bench clearing to intense rivalry or start a new rivalry. I feel this would give a much more intensity to the game.

Real time weather using online access. This would be a great feature for rain delays or possible PPD games. Yes a lot of sim players want this feature it adds realism to the game of baseball because this does happen in real life.

Players uniform/jerseys moving on a windy day and vape breathing on a late October night. This adds a lot of realism to presentation. If it's rainy day have fans wearing rain coats or umbrellas in the stands. Crowd intensity during post season games or if the pitcher is nearing a no hitter or that walk off home run have the crowd more electrified and ready to erupt.

Player collisions and multiple injuries. Yes we need player collisions same team players and opposing team players during a slide or running home or just running for a fly out. We need player collisions! It happens in real baseball!

Post season have cut scenes from players and crowd when it comes down to the last out. It brings so much more anxiety and intensity to the game. I think having this feature in the post season would bring so much more excitement to games. Please add this feature. Sending out your pitching coach like the opposite team does when your pitcher is shaky on the mound.

PLEASE ADD BETTER POST SEASON CELEBRATIONS! Seriously though, I mean we play a full out season and no offense but the post season celebrations are lame. How about adding the commissioner to hand the mvp trophy and World Series trophy? Team championship shirts and hats? Cameramen and reporters on the field recording cut scenes of the celebrations after winning the World Series? Ring ceremony on opening day when you continue your season in next year's game? I mean it's 2015 we can sure implement these presentation features to bring a more to real life baseball game experience. Please consider taking these features and making this the best baseball franchise ever in PlayStation history.

Anyone agree on that wish list ? I mean I think we need a baseball game that's a true state of the art simulation.

After playing NBA 2k16 lately, they have a lot of things that I'd love to see in The Show....

                    1. Re-branding of Teams. It adds such a fresh feel when you can take a team and give them new logos/uniforms/colors. Especially for those that play multi year franchises

                    2. Scouting Info on your next opponent. Baseball is a game of series and it would be awesome if The Show made it where you could see how a team is doing at the moment, projected lineups, injury reports, strengths and weakness. Things along this line.

                    3. Custom Advertisements. Allow users to upload ads for different companies for signs around your ball park.

                    4. The Addition of Bench Coaches and a system where you can hire coaches from other teams for promotions. Like if the Padres fire their manager they can talk to the Rangers and hire one of their coaches to be the new manager.

                    5. In-season contract extensions for players/staff

                    6. Non-Roster Invitees

                    7. Expanded Replay

I haven't been through this entire thread so this may have been mentioned already...but the one addition that I would like to see is pitch framing. Not just the catcher moving the glove but I would like to see more "physics" when the ball hits the glove rather than just staying in one place. Small things excite me...clearly

Has anyone mentioned personal catchers and pickoff sliders for pitchers?

Example would be Ross always playing when Lester pitched. Also, Lester horrible pickoff tenacies so getting big leads or steals was easier against him?

YES. I remember the old 2K games used to nail ratings like this. They had a number rating for every position, basically how good the person was there, and they had a pickoff rating as well as a call game rating as well. These things need to come back. Those games had a LOT of great things that made it just plain more fun to play. Gesture pitching, etc.

This gonna sound small and picky, but I really hope they improve/darken the color of the grass. To me, particularly on wide shots, the grass color and texture looks painted on and almost a neon green. I feel like they made the color extra light just to show off the grass field patterns, or maybe it's an issue of the game not being able to handle the graphics (FIFA 15 on last-gen is like that).
