    Re: Thoughts for MLB 16 the Show (offline)

    Something I was thinking about for a suggestion.

    What do you guys think about some sort of function that would allow you to have other MLBTS members be "assigned" as the GM of your offline franchise?
    They would be able to make and take trade offers(from all the guys you would assign)....

    I don't know if it's possible and if so to take it a step further and have them be able to make other moves(roster)....and signings.
    Sort of an online league...that you play your games vs. the CPU....but allow others to act as GM's in your franchise.
    I guess this would technically make it an online AND offline franchise....but I would love to negotiate with others on trades(and I guess they could offer trades to each other as well)
    (maybe any moves could be waiting in a queue until you fire back up and play?)

    I wonder if this is even possible?

      -Expand scouting in franchise mode. Would like to see scouting reports on next team I'm playing such as hot hitters, catchers arm ratings, pitchers facing strengths and weaknesses,etc.
      -Expand draft day. Make it fun and exciting!!
      -Media interaction, locker room pep talk,

      I'm sure I'll think of more.

        Re: Thoughts for MLB 16 the Show (offline)

        These should be easy to implement (I think):
        1. In the Calendar section of Franchise/Season Mode (Home ->Calendar), I'd like to see the Handedness of each pitcher scheduled to pitch for upcoming games. This is helpful in many situations. Here's one: Sin Soo Choo is needing a day-off ASAP, and he's good against Righties and terrible against Lefties. He's facing a Righty today, and I can see from the Calendar that he's facing a Lefty tomorrow, so I stretch him one more day, knowing I can rest him tomorrow and kill two birds with one stone. The way it is now, I either have to be familiar enough with opposing pitchers to already know if they're a lefty or righty, or I have to remember the names of upcoming opposing starters, go to statistics, find the team I'll be facing, scroll to the pitchers I'll be facing, pull up their card, and see which hand they pitch with. That's pretty cumbersome.
        Instead, just put a little "L" or "R" next to their name on this graphic:
        image.jpg
        2. In-Game, in the Lineups screen in the pause menu, allow us to scroll through the players and pull up their cards from that screen, instead of having to go to the Statistics screen to be able to see their card. Or, allow us to toggle between our own team and the opponent in the Substitution screen.
        3. Use the choice from our last game for Quick Counts On/Off as the default for the next game. This will prevent starting a Franchise game with Quick Counts either erroneously on or off due to going a little too quickly and then not being to back out of the game and change it. Or just make it one of the options in the Gameplay Options screen for the Franchise (IOW, in the same place where you set defaults for Hitting Difficulty, Hitting Interface, Throwing Interface, etc.). I know it's our own fault if we hit the wrong button while speeding through menus, but there's nothing wrong with making the interface more user-friendly.

          For Managers I would like to see their Win-loss records and the previous teams they have managed.

              Add a "REBOUND" stat for relief pitchers & closers.

              This would be different than STAMINA. My closer may only be able to go 2 innings tonight but will he be able to pitch tomorrow? Can he throw 1 inning for 3 consecutive days?

              A pitchers ability to rebound would be useful for to answer these questions.

                Not really an accessories guy but can we get actual gold colored cleats?
                Like these?

                Right now the gold color option in the game looks like a yellowgreen color

                  Along this line I would like the catchers hand to be a little more visible so that we could turn off the little glove thingy and actually watch the catcher call the game with real signs. Plus shaking off a sign and getting another one.

                  Crowd wearing jersey's that say PLAYER actually have a name instead.

                  More ballpark immersion. Like mascots doing things and fan close ups. Just some more little things that make it feel more like a real broadcast.

                  Fix throws taking the player off the bag all of the time.

                  I would love to have FULLY manual sliding and fielding.

                  I want to slide when and if I want. No predetermined point where the CPU takes over. If I don't input on a controlled player then they don't slide, period. Plus if I want to slide to the left of home I should be able to.

                  Fielding is pretty self explanatory. They don't move unless I move the controller and they stop when I let go. Not instantly of course would still like physics to play a part.
                  I enjoy threads of this nature, good ideas and discussion to help improve The Show, that year after year produces the #1 sports game on the market.

                  I agree with all of Bullit's thoughts and would add a complete re-work of stats.

                    HUSTLE Rating for a player

                    LOW- (on a ball hit to the infield, player comes out of the box slow, and jogs at a speed even lower than their ratings.)

                    David Ortiz
                    Miguel Cabrera
                    Robinson Cano

                    MEDIUM -(player will come out of the box at a normal speed, and will only run hard if the ball is in a tough spot ie: in between the SS and 3b, SS and 2b. If a ball is hit hard, and directly to an infielder, the player jogs at a slower rate than their rating.)

                    Evan Longoria
                    Bryce Harper
                    (This is where most players will fall into)

                    HIGH- (player gets out of the box asap, puts his head down and runs all out for 1st base regardless of where the ball is hit.)

                    Kevin Kiermeir
                    Billy Hamilton
                    Mike Trout
                    Bucs, Lighting, Rays,

                        Not a Show problem. It's Sony's lack of MP3 support.

                          MORE STATS AND STAT TRACKING

                          BRING BACK THE NEWSPAPERS THAT HAD SUMMARIES OF GAMES

                          Add in player personalities that affect and change animations

                          Add in the ability to argue a play and literally push an umpire's buttons; the more you push the button, the more your player argues and risks getting ejected. This can tie in to umpire personalities. Before each game, there should be a scouting report available, not just for the other team's players, but for the umpires as well. That way you can learn if a particular umpire has a tendency to eject quickly, or to give a little more leeway, etc. Furthermore, add the ability for the manager to come out and argue and potentially get ejected. In real life, that can provide a spark to a sleepy offense. Should be the same in the game. I can't believe this isn't part of the game yet after all these years. It's part of the game in real life. Why not in the game? Same with the ability to charge a pitcher who hits you.

                          Finally, I feel that we should be able to essentially "be" the manager in our Franchise modes. What I mean is, after games, we should be able to communicate with our players. There should be a number of communications we can do that affect a player's confidence and team morale. (THERE SHOULD DEFINITELY BE A TEAM MORALE METER THAT AFFECTS HOW A TEAM PLAYS ON A GIVEN DAY). A team on a 4-game losing streak should take a hit in the team morale meter and should therefore be slightly negatively affected in terms of their ability for the next game. Perhaps as a manager, you can go in give a pep talk that gives them an uptick in the meter. Or perhaps you can go talk to the next day's starter and give him a little pep talk, and then if he pitches a great game the next day, the team morale will go up. How will these communications work? Obviously they will have to be pre-loaded messages you can choose to relay. But there have to be a LOT of them for it to feel immersive. Same goes for a struggling player. If you want to bench him or sit him down, you choose how to relay the information to him so as not to affect his morale meter. This can tie in to player personalities I mentioned above. In real life, so much of a manager's job is managing personalities. So to make this more realistic, we NEED THIS ASPECT IN THE GAME. There should be notifications from lower coaches ever day, some that may say a particularly play is a "cancer in the clubhouse" or saying a particular player has been putting in extra effort, etc. Then you could figure out what to do with the bad player and how to approach it, or to communicate to the hard-working player how you feel. Or if you want a player to change positions, etc. It has endless possibilities. The game has become stale. Let's make it better!

                            Some of you guys have great ideas! Some thoughts I have regarding the play and no doubt it will be touched on to what some have mentioned already;

                            • Stats need an upgrade. It's the way baseball is changing more and more regarding the ability to calculate stats. I'd love to see WAR calculated throughout the season/careers. That would be an awesome addition to this game.
                            • In lines with stats, maybe they could start adding Stat-Cast to highlights from the games. Just show case it after a play or two throughout the game or the ability to pick a play and let it calculate it out.
                            • Fix the simulated stats. This has been an issue for a while, it seems. There shouldn't be a handful of guys barely getting to .300. But, if WAR is added, I wouldn't mind it as much.
                            • Adjusted player progression. Too often the engine boosts pitchers like crazy and position players go down especially with plate vision. Mike Foltynewicz shouldn't be striking out nearly 300 batters each year after two seasons. (I just remember him more than others. But the strike outs per season was insane after my second and third years.

                            In regards to roster control;

                            • Full roster single A teams. I understand if it's a licensing issue, that's fine just give us the ability to have a full roster of players or slots for single A. Those 10 extra spots would be awesome to have.
                            • The ability to sign minor league club managers instead of just having a farm director. You can have a farm director too. But, I'd love to have personalized managers for minor league teams. The coaches could have attributes that are simple and even just one dimensional like baserunning specialist or something like that.
                            • Regards of moving players up and down is in need of a boost but to be fair, I don't really know how the AI handles it for other teams.
                            • Trades. I still see some odd trades from AI at times but it has gotten way better from previous years.
                            • Drafting. If they expand the roster for single A, it would be great to have more rounds. Drafting does need to be fixed too. That whole process is just not good. It's 2015, the AI drafts players who are 22 already and won't be good till 2024? That all needs to be fixed and rehashed.
                            • Scouting, much of the same needs to be rehashed. Scouting is still pointless and I don't even bother to do it. Scouting would be cool if they adjusted it and instead of giving straight attributes, they should just show rating based off the 20-80 scale. That would be pretty cool.
                            • I forgot to add in; Team Chemistry! I think this is huge and should be attributes to players. Either chemistry attribute or personality? That would be great to have and should change yearly by performance, team performance, salary signings.

                            Stadium stuff;
                            • More interaction in stadiums would be cool. Advertisements would be interesting around the stadium, just make random ones like in the past that you can place around.
                            • I'd like the idea of upgrading your stadium, buying a new scoreboard or something. If this is added, it would be cool to actually see it too. Sort of how the Cubs did their changing around. I know that's asking for a lot but maybe at some point down the road.
                            • Sounds of the game. I'm all for this too and it's a much needed upgrade.

                            Gameplay;
                            • Like many have said, the customization. I'd love to see more variety and more individual like throwing motions. I want Hunter Pence to actually throw like Hunter Pence.
                            • Sliding animations for fielding when going to the glove side. Like someone trying to cut off a ball in the gap, or in the infield more so at the third and second base positions.
                            • Second basemans going down on a one knee to make sure the ball doesn't get by them. I've been seeing this more and more.
                            • Adjusted slide animations into the bases. With the hook slides, pulling the arm back, etc. That would be cool but I'm sure really difficult to do and pull off also.
                            • Cut down on the double plays, the hits off the pitchers, and random given errors on hits.
                            • The so slow animations allowing hits and extra bases. I shouldn't have Jose Molina beating out a slow grounder to short because my SS won't charge the ball even with jamming on the left thumb-stick towards the ball.
                            • Way too many bunt attempts for a hit. Every time I face Leonys Martin, he bunts 90% of the time.
                            • Swinging needs more animations. Jose Altuve shouldn't have the same finish and swing as Giancarlo Stanton.

                            Presentation;
                            • Like others have said, better notifications.
                            • Around the league news. If a pitcher is throwing a no-hitter or something like 20 strikeouts in a game, I'd love to know about it. Same thing regarding a player who may have 4 homeruns in one game. A news story idea would be great to have maybe they can team up with MLB Network and have Quick Pitch articles or something.
                            • Along with that, I'd love to know what players are close to hitting milestone marks or close to record breaking years.
                            • Also, can we please be able to compare players in MLB and not just AL/NL? I know it's been the same since 1998 on the Show but any chance this could change by now? If not, it's cool I guess but it would be nice.

                            Ok, I'm done. This was all off the top of my head and I hope you guys don't mind my long post. I love the Show and I want it to keep getting better!

                              1. Stop with the throw from the catcher on a stolen base attempt bouncing and still getting the runner at second.

                              2. Fix velocities. Chapman throws 101-102 regularly. Make it possible to throw that hard.

                              3. Animations - just start over. The wonky animations are just miserable this year and lead to way too many nonsense hits. Grounded towards the middle that the second basemen gets to but takes 5 steps to throw it. Catchers taking 8 seconds to get out of a crouch leading to abnormal amounts of bunt singles. Fly balls hitting outfielders in the head regularly. Way too many routine fly balls being missed entirely. Pitchers with amazing control not being able to locate pitches at all, as in 5 feet from their intended target. The list goes on and on.
