Taking a proper route to a fly ball is important, in a lot of cases it isnt in your best interest to try and rush over the to the spot and "wait" for the ball to drop into your glove.

You can just feather the stick and it will trigger a catch animation.

I actually like the system.

I understand P.A.D. gripe with the animations, and if feather the stick helps/works that great but my problem with that (feather the stick) is that's not the way it should be for all plays at all. when I think of feathering the stick for movement is too walk not run. so when it comes to a baseball game or action game having to feather the stick just doesn't seem or would feel right. there is a lot of tense moments going on that just to lightly press the thumb stick either direction would just take you right out of the moment. (crap... deep fly ball in the gap need to hurry up and get there, but don't jam on the stick too hard, don't want to risk the chance of the animation not kicking in.)

It's actually more of a feathering "off" of the stick. It's ok to chase things down by going full in on the stick. What feathering off does is syncs the player's speed with the available animations, making for a smoother transition. A classic example of not doing this is the "I overran the ball, let me reach back with my glove hand to make the catch" animation. It definitely varies by situation and player attributes (e.g. I have a harder time slowing down (feathering off) with George Springer, than with Starling Marte).

That make sense, kind of like slowing down when getting into position.. thanks for the clarification. there was no way I would have been able to lightly press the stick in any direction on most plays like I thought you guys were meaning.

Why are there so many dropped 3rd strikes? It seems like half the k's in a game are dropped 3rd strikes and you're stuck praying the catcher doesn't chuck the ball into right field, or does if you're at bat.

And then we wonder why nothing ever gets fixed....just allowing them to get complacent. The fact that you see nothing off with any of the 6 videos I posted is honestly alarming to say the least.

That's a glitch that's been around since release. Seen it happen a couple of times, but it's always been on a ball that would be caught had the animation played out normally. That looks like it's the case on that play as well.

Certainly frustrating, but at least the outcome was eventually correct.

Eh it was routine fly ball that was going to be caught and the animation didn't register in time. Its a glitch that has happened to several times. Maybe you should stop playing The Show because everytime you come across a glitch/bug you come here to complain.

Exactly. There's nothing wrong with what PAD is doing. This is a glitch... it should be fixed. If y'all aren't interested in hearing his "act" then refrain from coming into the thread.
