Re: MLB 16 The Show WISHLIST
Here are a few other suggestions:
1. Home and away batting gloves - Some players wear different color batting gloves for home and away games to match the home and away uniform colors. The same is true for the colors of wrist tape and arm and wrist bands.
2. Choose whether player runs the bases 1) wearing no batting gloves or 2) wearing batting gloves
3. More choices for 2nd position such as 2b/3b, LF/1b or LF/1b,2b.
4. In RTTS one is almost always playing only in your primary position. It would be more realistic if from time to time one is assigned to play in one of your secondary positions. The majority of players in the minors play more than one position during the year. This is especially true of infielders (other than First Basemen). For First Basemen they are often switching between 1B and the DH position. However it is also true of outfielders. Almost all center fielders spend some of their time also at RF and/or LF.
5. Pitchers should also get points for hitting and base running.
6. The inclusion of licensed equipment is great. I would like to see more manufacturers in the next edition. (New Balance shoes etc.)
7. A module for generating minor league players with the appropriate values. One would put in the level, league and the appropriate statistics (batting averages, 2Bs, 3Bs, HRs, stolen bases etc. ) and the module would generate from these numbers the appropriate set of values (right contact, right power etc ... all 17 values) This would make it easier to generate players that closely replicate real minor league players in a way that would be consistent across all 30 teams.
Thank you,

Re: MLB 16 The Show WISHLIST
A WISHLIST for STATS
Reading through various wish list and complaint threads over the past couple of years really shows me that lots of gamers are looking for an upgraded experience with respect to stat tracking, stat accessibility, and stat storage. It's easy to understand why this is the case--baseball is the most statistically-rich sport on the planet. While the MLBTS franchise is already an engrossing game that is well-made by a great development team (who don't get enough credit from this gaming community for what they do execute on each year), an overhaul of the way the game handles statistics would take it to another level.
1. The first thing is to make the player cards a hub for all data tied to a particular player. Game logs for each player is data already kept in box scores in the game, so having a way to link to this data through the player card will help centralize things so you don't have to go combing through box scores to find game-by-game data. Page 1 of the player card could be similar to like it is now for vitals (age, handedness, ht/wt, service time, jersey #, contract info (years, total, AAV), positions, attributes). Pages 2-3 for current season stats. Page 4 for current season game logs (pulled from box scores). Page 5 for historical data/stats, awards, and accolades (or it could be a button press on a previous page to call this up). It would also be nice to store the defensive positions that each player played in each box score and use that info to feed into primary/secondary/tertiary defensive positions...this would also make it possible to organically develop players at new positions.
2. The second thing to do is to have a way to archive all data, season by season, to the player cards. If I play into the year 2022 and want to look up how many walks Joey Votto drew in 2018, there should be a way to do that. The year-over-year historical data that is kept should be greatly expanded beyond: HR, RBI, AVG, H, W-L, ERA, K. We don't need to keep things like SAC flies etc in the historical data, but anything that people would want to track over time for record-keeping purposes should be kept (Batters: AVG vs LHP, AVG vs RHP, SB, BB, K, OBP, SLG, 2B, 3B, H, R, AB, BABIP)....(Pitchers: GS, IP, SV, HR allowed, BB allowed, K, WHIP, AVG vs LHB, AVG vs RHB, DIPS, BABIP). Bonus points for finding a way to archive the batted ball data (line drives, fly balls, and grounders) so that there are GB%, FB%, and LD% on player cards for both pitchers and batters. Double bonus points for keeping pitch count data and tracking it by pitcher by season. The game is already tracking this stuff during each game--it just needs to be archived to the player cards and in a way that doesn't slow the game to a crawl.
3. It's time for The Show to have its own WAR calculation. I call it rrWAR (rr = Ramone Russell). Whether it's based on things like DIPS and IP (both already in the game) for pitchers and Bat Runs, plate appearances, Base Runs, and primary position for positional adjustment (everything but positional adjustment is already in the game) for position players. Some sort of defensive metric calculated based on things like total chances, range factor, and fielding percentage (again, all are in the game already) could produce a "dWAR." Or whatever the game uses to calculate Gold Gloves could be re-formatted to generate a "dWAR" that could be viewed on the player card--and it could factor into the rrWAR calculation. Then having the game's logic mainly look at one or two metrics like rrWAR and contract AAV, the cpu would get a little smarter and it would be more streamlined in making the cpu value players appropriately in trades, free agent signings, start the right players etc.
4. It's time to purge some of the stats currently in the game that just take up space. When I see data such as RBI RHP, RBI LHP, SEC AVG, BB/PA, BB/K, BOP, T AVG, POP, SLOB, TPQ, HEQ-O, PWR FACT, W HM, W AW, L HM, L AW, ERC--all of these stats look to be prime candidates to either remove entirely or at least hide them to streamline the interface. No one really mentions these at all in modern baseball parlance and they could be replaced with more central, sabermetric categories...like rrWAR. Also, BB%, K% for both pitchers and hitters should be simple given the game already tracks the stats that go into those ratios/percentages. wRC+ and wOBA would also be a great improvement and would be even easier to implement if the game already has park factors built into it.
5. This is probably me getting greedy, but how awesome would it be for projections to be added in? For example, it's the offseason in 2016 and you are headed to free agency. You can sort free agents by positions, salary demands, stats, and projected production for the upcoming year. As for executing this, maybe an algorithm could be written that takes a player's career averages (or 3-year averages) coupled with a player's place on the aging curve and his potential rating to generate a preview of what production could be expected. It would be kind of like running each player through the sim engine before the season starts if you want to think of it that way.
I think we all can agree that we want the best, most useful stats that are plastered all over every MLBTR post, all over FanGraphs, and in internet articles about player value that we all read. We want them tracked in perpetuity so they can be accessed whenever and so people don't need to do their own record keeping in Excel. And, finally, we want a convenient interface where we can get at everything from a central hub and don't need to canvas a bunch of different menus to get all of that sweet, sweet data.Last edited by WaitTilNextYear; 11-25-2015, 03:53 AM.Chicago Cubs | Chicago Bulls | Green Bay Packers | Michigan WolverinesComment

Re: MLB 16 The Show WISHLIST
I wish somebody would come out with a baseball equivalent to NBA 2K or Maddan NFL games. I am so tired of these BS baseball games. Here we are damn near 2016 and still having to put up with these crappy baseball games.
5 broken bats per game-all end up in pop outs; all your foul outs in play; 4 umpires in the playoffs? (unbelievable) the list is endless. Like I always said maybe, just maybe, by 2025.Comment

Re: MLB 16 The Show WISHLIST
Don't know if it's been mentioned, but some sort of player/team chemistry. Make it where players tend to not mesh with each other as the season progresses or if you trade a player it angers other. As a Marlins fan I am sure that Marlins chemistry is falling apart as the offseason continues lol.
But yeah figured that'd be cool, sure you could put together an all star lineup, but adding chemistry and personality would change how you approach players.Miami Heat

Re: MLB 16 The Show WISHLIST
PRESENTATION PRESENTATION PRESENTATION!!!!
-Get a new commentary team some new voices would be welcome I'd like to see Gary thorne.
-A Pregame show like NBA 2k has something like this
<iframe src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/3efuxY6n-Rs" allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="315" width="560"></iframe>
(Minus Joe Buck no Joe Buck please no Joe Buck.)
<iframe src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/I9BCpLbVLPc" allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="315" width="560"></iframe>
I'd like to see more shots of the city to make it feel like we're playing there something like this
"Here we are in New York as the Yankees take on the Red Sox" Then cut to the stadium
"The bright lights of New York Good evening I'm Matt Vasgersian here with Eric Karros and Steve Lyons as all the lights are on the Mets and Cubs tonight. Game 1 of the NLCS starts right now."
or
"We'll be back in the city that never sleeps after this"
NBA 2k Does it
Just using NYC as an example you could do one for every city showing off some interesting places in D.C for the Nats you could show the monuments, Seattle The Space Needle and Downtown, In Philadelphia The Rocky steps...
The possibilities are endless
An improved RTTS like this
http://www.operationsports.com/forum...road-show.html
Non roster invites for Spring training
-With free agency I'd like to see what a players wants are whether they want to play for a contender, chasing the money, Market size of the team, playing time etc. Also let us include performance bonuses and add in No trade clauses as well.
-I'd like to see a mangers W-L record and the teams they've managed any awards they have won and their playoffs record. Also individual managers for AAA, AA, and A. Let Retired players become coaches as well
-I'd like to be able to change affiliations with minor league teams. IDK if it's possible due to licensing issues and stuff. If we can't create or move MLB teams why not create and move minor league teams instead?
-Class A ball IDK if it's a licensing issue or a memory issue but Playable A ball would be great to have at least try to get A advanced.
-International free agents
Signing 16 year old international prospects on July 2nd and use the posting system for Japanese players
-Rehabbing injured MLB players in the minors
-GM Interactions like in NBA 2k relationships with other GMs that can affect trades, different owner personalities and stuff.
-Being able to set the direction of the team if you are rebuilding, trying to make a playoff push, and world series or bust.
-Stop making players Retire at 35
-Some sort of award ceremony raising banners and stuff if we win a championship that stays there and also being able to retire Jerseys.Last edited by zello144; 11-26-2015, 08:38 PM.Comment

Re: MLB 16 The Show WISHLIST
For one, the crowd at Wrigley should be dressed in blue and not white. I'd like to see some better player models, face scans etc. I'd like to see being able to move your batter in the box. The outfielders "turbo burst" while running down a fly ball they are running full speed but all of sudden if it looks like they won't get to the ball they get a burst of speed from nowhere. Also no more get your defensive player close to where the ball is gonna land and the game just takes over and automatic catch. Lastly for catching fly balls, you have to click the right analog stick to catch the ball. Have some kind of system like the New Madden catch system or a meter going and if you miss the spot you miss the catch just something along those lines.Comment

Re: MLB 16 The Show WISHLIST
An updated Progressive Field. Stayed away from the Indians franchise cause of it. Playing as the Red Sox at Fenway. Dynamic weather is needed. Rather have the weather determined instead of choosing before each and every game. Fix temperatures too, no more 45 degrees in Cleveland in May. Maybe fly by's of the city, similar to what NHL 16 shows.Last edited by shaunjuan2000; 11-26-2015, 01:16 PM.Comment

Re: MLB 16 The Show WISHLIST
1. Improved Stat Overlay (Franchise) I'd like to see the Player Card include Runs with the rest of the main stats instead of having to view them via the Player Stats section. 2. Injury Bug (Franchise) I know this was dealt with going from '14 to '15 where younger players and prospects were retiring early due to injuries. I simmed a franchise where Bryce Harper retired at the end of the 2015 season after spending 6 months on the DL with a dislocated ankle. Jose Iglesias also retired in '15 with the same issue. Instead of having players retire, how about a "Chronic" tag that is applied to players who get hurt in a key area and may be susceptible to another injury or, at the very least, take a durability hit. Nobody should put hours into a franchise and see a prominent player retire way before his time.Last edited by omegon3; 11-26-2015, 05:46 PM.Comment

Re: MLB 16 The Show WISHLIST
Everyone wants new Player models, More body builds. Faster real life cut scenes. If they could implement real time scene mixed into play. I mean have close ups of the pitcher as you're pushing the button you want to pitch. A new animation when hitting a double or moving a player to second. How they run fast and everyone stutters off second and takes three steps and goes back.
I play as the Cardinals. The Left field wall has Wainwright, Molina and others. I with they could have just normal people with Cardinals uniforms, since they can't get the rights for the real players that are there. Make the arch real looking.
A pipe dream, sign with MLB Network, like NHL did with NBC. That would make the game feel more real.
Bring back full analog swings
Since challenges are thrown out a lot. Give us control when to throw a challenge.
Have cold weather, with players breathing out and you can see it.
If you're chasing a team or vise versa have a cut scene saying that team hit a monster home run and took the lead and have updates during your game to make your game more meaningful and put stress on you to win.
Dynamic in game player moral. You have bases loaded with one out and a new pitcher gets a double play, your team gets pumped up and gains moral and the other team loses some and maybe gets nervous the next inning, making a better chance to make an error and your team a better chance to make a big hit. It doesn't have to be all the time, but we see in real life games can have that one inning that take the life out of a team and boots the other. Maybe it can have an effect or maybe not. If your player strikes out with the bases loaded the next inning(s) he will be shaky on defense.Comment

Re: MLB 16 The Show WISHLIST
Import music in SOTS (gotta be a way with the new media player), or a wide selection of music (like NBA 2k16).
Bring back real time presentation. I'd rather have the choice to skip if I want to.Comment
