Physical MVP edition. Best Buy GCU is a nice thing to have. Full digital on the Xbox since that is my multiplatform console, but PS4 is almost 100% exclusives so don't mind having the discs.

Re: Which edition of MLB 16 The Show will you be buying?
If you give DD a try this year, you might be glad you did. I really got into it last year for the first time and have had a blast. If you are even thinking about playing some DD, that 10 extra bucks value will be well worth it during your time till '17 comes out next year.
I am in a weird position as I like the Diamond Dynasty setup of creating the team, accumulating players and playing with it but I am not really into online play. Hopefully captain missions can be completed using Extra Innings.Comment

Congrats!
And I hate you.
I know it is like a 1:1000 chance to win but I still rush home from work so that I can be in front of my computer in time to join in on the drawing.Comment

I would assume so since they lock the sliders and difficulty so you can't really boost that way. The only place where they should limit the tickets is in "play with friends" since it would be easy to boost the missions that way with a friend.Comment

Congrats man! I was wondering if any of our fellow OS'ers had won anything from the streams.
I made it a point to get off early today in hopes of getting home in time to get on today's stream and have a chance at winning something.Comment

Wait a tick, do I need PSN plus to play DD? I don't pay extra to play online for any console. Luckily, Wii U and PS3 still offer online play for free. It's one of the reasons I bought MLB 15 The Show on PS3.Comment

To play online yes you need PS+. If you only want to play online I agree PS+ doesn't seem like a great value. If you want the free games offered it is. I think most people just see it as a necessary evil since Xbox live has been paid since its inception. As a PC gamer it has always bothered me that simple match making is locked behind a paywall. It's silly that you can't access basic features of a game without paying that fee.
But the best version of The Show is on PS4 and that requires PS+ for online so I don't have a choice.Comment

Re: Which edition of MLB 16 The Show will you be buying?
Yeah, it boggles my mind that I have to buy a system, a game and pay extra to play that game online. I am already paying for internet so it should be free like PC. I like that PS3 gave you a choice. You can still play for free but if you get PS+, you get discounts on games and free games as long as you subscribe. Seems like a perfect combo. I am really hoping Nintendo does the same thing with NX. It will be a bummer to not have online play with PS4 but I own an Xbox One too so and I can't see myself ever paying for both of them just to access something I shouldn't have to pay for in the first place. If I get some amazing deal, I might pay for one of them and the biggest draw with be the free games.
I've been disappointed with the free games from Xbox so far, granted I don't have my 360 hooked up anymore. Not like I use my PS3 that often either, it just sits waiting for Persona 5. Sony has been better with the free games IMO, especially for Vita. I think 80% of my vita games are from PS+. PS4 had some great "free" games as well. For instance recently I was going to buy Grow Home, but held off when I saw it was winning the vote for free game that month. Now with PS+ I never buy an indie game at launch since it's likely to come to PS+ eventually.
PS+ memberships go on sale. I see them all the time for $40 and sometimes $35. At that price I think it's worth it for the free games and discounts on its own.Comment

It costs them a fair bit of money to maintain and administer the servers, and they really don't ask for much. $50 for a year = $6 a month. You paid for the system, yes, but Sony sells every PS4 at a loss (or at least that's what was widely reported at launch). It costs more to make it than what it sells for. So it's hard, for me at least, to say "well you're selling me this system for less than what it costs to make, but I also expect to play online for free, even though that also costs you money to maintain the network and servers and not have millions of pissed off nerds when they can't connect to COD." And they also are giving you more than your $6 a month's worth with the free games and discounts.
For the record, I don't even have PS+, because I generally don't care about online play, so I'd consider myself impartial here. But if I ever did want to play online, I could hardly complain about $6 a month and free games.Comment

I would say that the free Xbox games, especially on the Xbox one have been far better than the free PS4 games.
Unfortunately, you now pay for online play on both consoles. The genie is out of that bottle and will not go back in.Comment
