Does anyone who plays MoM (NOT cpu vs cpu) and uses sliders adjust the HUM sliders to match CPU sliders, or do you just leave the HUM at default 5?

Re: Manage Only Mode Thread
Im at a lose here.... I just dont get almost to the end of May, and my 3 top pitchers Kluber, Carrasco, and Salazar cant get over 3 - 5 strikeouts a game. These guys average 7,8+ an outing in real life. Now I did 3 test sims with the same settings, sliders, and set up. All 3 had them getting 6+ an outing. I just dont understand it and it is getting frustrating. I dont want to cpu vs cpu. I want to manage the game. Sorry, mostly venting. I just dont know what to do. I cant up anything human because it has 0 effect.Really wish sports games played to ratings!

Re: Manage Only Mode Thread
I adjust both but I feel the HUM do nothing - not sure though so . . . . .
Personally I'm not seeing any real issues with Ks in my MoM games using my sliders.Comment

Yea - - I'd like to see Ks/9 inning stats on the problem K person. My team on offense were striking out a TON in April and May but have calmed down. My pitchers seem to be about right (sadly)Comment

Re: Manage Only Mode Thread
I ended up restarting my franchise and decided to manage including spring training. Now I play with default with slight tweaks. Seeing really good results. Hum and cpu are all default except reliever staminas at 3. Errors are 6,5,4,6. Field speed is 4, reaction 6. Base runner is 4. Wind is 6, injury 7, and trade (whole season) 8.

I love MLB the Show manage mode because it's the only game where I can put the controller down and just watch the game until I decide to intercede. Next March is a long time to wait to see if they fix the game.≡Comment

I get great results playing with Nomo's sliders. Best out there in my opinion for sim results, played MOM games. Varied realistic results across the boardComment

Re: Manage Only Mode Thread
I agree tessl. I play very similar. The controller sits next to me till I think I need to interact. I too wish the devs gave a little more care into MoM franchises. Here's to hoping, but not expecting much change. I do like the add of bunting and not being called a strike if it isn't. That was huge for me.
Sorry, was getting off topic lol. I found mine to stay close to default but spark a little more offense. Nomo's are very offense based. A little to much offense for my taste, but still decent. His are more cpu vs cpu.

Re: Manage Only Mode Thread
Anyway in the first month of the season using mainly default sliders, the offensive production was way down (like many others have observed). Then in May I played with the sliders purposely elevated to bring the BAs across the league up to somewhat normal levels. Then from that point I adopted Nomo's sliders with very small tweaks and I am happy with the results I see regarding somewhat believable game stats. So if people are still seeing not enough offense in their games they should try Nomo's sliders and make small tweaks to them if they fell the need.
Now an interesting thing has happened during my season. I am a Rockies fan, but I needed to mix things up this year. So I decided to play a season at Fenway Park with the Red Sox. This gave me some much needed exposure to AL tactics (traditionally I was always more of a fan of the NL). But I also chose the Red Sox because as a Rockies fan I was tired of playing with a team with good offense and poor pitching. Well did that change with the Red Sox? LOL ... no I am playing with a team that is at or near the top of almost every offensive category while they are at or near the bottom of almost every pitching category. It's a real streaky team where it's not uncommon for me to lose five games in a row when the offense gets cold, but then turn around and win seven in a row (I am presently on a five game winning streak following the All Star break) and I shouldn't complain because the team is very much alive in the hunt to win the AL East. But there is another interesting observation from my games. My pitching staff does not throw very many first pitch strikes. They only throw them about 55% of the time. So deep counts are the norm in my games and it is extremely rare to get through a three up three down innings throwing 10 or fewer pitches. 20+ pitches in an inning is the norm. But the exact opposite occurs when I am at bat. With the exception of Ortiz who can work the count, most of my batters swing at the first pitch making some sort of contact over 50% of the time on that first pitch and 10 or fewer pitch innings happens a lot. Now when my batters are hot, my players are generating a lot of offense (as mentioned earlier the team is at or near the top of most offensive categories). But when they are not hot, it's easy to think that the game hates me. Yes I know I could tell my batters to take the first pitch. but often the opposition pitchers do throw first pitch strikes about 60-70% of the time. So I feel I am just giving away a strike to prevent them from swinging at the first pitch. The only time I tell them to take pitches is on 3-0 counts or often (especially in the early innings with no base runners in scoring position), if the first pitch is a ball, I will tell the batter to take the 2nd pitch in the hope that the next one will be a ball as well and a 2-0 count. Sometimes it works, giving my batters better odds at seeing a good pitch to hit. Sometimes it doesn't.
So curious are they any other Red Sox MoM players out there seeing the same trends. Over all the team is very competitive. But with above average offense and below average pitching?Last edited by My993C2; 07-18-2016, 03:22 PM.Comment

Re: Manage Only Mode Thread
What's frustrating to me is the developers know runs are too low in the game but did nothing to fix it and therefore the customers are left trying to figure out who to fix the game.

Currently a couple weeks past this year's all-star break in my Yankees franchise, 3rd place in a very competetive AL East, trying to hang onto a wild card spot. Injuries have hit us pretty hard;
-Tex has been on and off of the DL with nagging injuries
-Severino is out for the season after having a strong sophomore year
-Brian McCann missed a few months very early in the season
-Gardner got hurt a few times
-Pineda has been on the DL
-Nova (moved from the bullpen to the rotation) got hurt.
We were red hot around the break, but have been struggling lately (2-8 over our last 10, lost about 9 straight at one point). Tanaka has been solid, as has Sabathia (surprisingly, but similair to real life this season). Called up Bryan Mitchell to fill a rotation spot, and he's been strong. Traded for Grichuk from the Cards at the deadline, as well as Jeff Locke, Tyler Lyons (bullpen depth) and Breyvic Valera for utility depth/insurance.Comment
