I dont know what Im doing wrong here, Ryu just had a ball dead middle of the plate, I was holding triangle and down using directional hitting, and the ball came flying off to Rizzo who grabbed it, spun and threw to second off balance starting an easy double play. I could watch every game this entire season and not see a team hit into half as many double plays off sac bunts like Ive already experienced in 50 games or so of my season. Any advice perhaps? Im at a loss and its basically destroying the game for me as it takes the entire concept of small ball and moving runners over worthless.
Glad it's not just me. Can't tell you how many double plays I've bunted into. It's maddening

I tend to have better success putting down sac bunts if I just press triangle and don't use the directional hitting. It seems like if I try to aim the bunt, I wind up getting more of the rocket bunts.

        Guess Pitch Question:

In the settings it says that NO FEEDBACK has the highest bonuses, while CLASSIC has the smallest. If I have guess pitch set to OFF do I have better bonuses, or is it best to have guess pitch on but with no feedback?

I've played with Classic feedback for months and I've recently leveled up to Hall of Fame hitting difficulty and literally can't get hits. No homeruns in 8 games, no games with more than 1 run. I was frustrated so I went in and left guess pitch ON but just changed it to NO Feedback. I got back to back hits with one being a homerun. But I couldn't really tell what happened, since I guessed my pitch but there's no way to tell what happened.

Any advice? I like to keep it on with CLASSIC guessing low fastballs simply so I can avoid chasing stuff in the dirt. On All-Star difficulty I can score runs and hit the ball out of the park, but can't on Hall of Fame using this method.

How does guess pitch actually work? Does anyone know?

        Pros/Cons?

        Thanks in advance.

Lots of info about this in the in-game strategy guide. But there's really no way that's "better" than another - the game is tuned so that the GP bonuses are higher (and the penalties smaller) when using the more challenging ones like no feedback. If you incorrectly guess low fastball every time with feedback on (that's a double incorrect guess), you do take a pretty significant hit to contact and power (to compensate for the additional information you have by knowing what the pitch isn't going to be). With feedback off, that penalty is still there, but it's less (because you don't have feedback info on what the pitch isn't going to be).

Guessing both pitch type and location and getting one wrong is the same contact/power penalty as if you had guessed both wrong, so you're actually really hurting your chances of getting solid contact by doing what you're doing - and that's going to affect you on any difficulty. Try just guessing low and you won't be penalized so harshly, even with feedback on.

Also, if you want to see your feedback results even with feedback off, go into the batter analysis screen and set the Situation filter to "Label Guesspitch".

Has SCEA false advertised? I saw in the commentary live stream they said there were going to be things talked about for almost every player on every team. So far I only hear one player being talked about almost every time. I play as the Mets and all I have heard talked about was Curtis Granderson wearing the Negro league socks. I thought that every team was going to have stories for more than one player. What happened?

I think what you should try is laying down the bunt at the last second as a drag bunt. That always helps me. Make sure you use the analog sticks to aim for the best direction. Directional hitting is my favorite for this reason.

Great info Bcruise. How will I just guess low but not guess the pitch? Will there be a sound or something to let me know that I guessed low, or will the flash be enough?

                Thanks in advance.

Oh that's right, you've probably never seen it if you always guessed twice and didn't know what one correct guess looks like. It looks like this, as the pitch is released:

Classic (cursor mark shrinks as the pitch comes in, this is the largest you'll see it):

I noticed that when I move a player with a day to day injury to the 15 day DL his expected injury time increases. For instance, Ketel Marte has a 1-6 day injury in my franchise while on the bench, but if I move him to the DL it becomes a 2-3 week injury. What's up with that? Is this a glitch or what?

It happens because you put him on 15 day DL. He will only be out the 15 days, nothing to worry about.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

I was just wondering if there was a page where I could read what the icons next to a player mean.

I know the stars are allstars but sometimes there are crowns and other things. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

This reddit page is the best I've seen. This should cover most of them even if it's a couple of years old now.

I was wondering if anybody else has noticed that the progressive field batter boxes/lines never degrade during a game like other ballparks? It seems in the other stadiums I have played in the dirt starts the game as having a damp look whereas at progressive field the dirt seems to be totally dry and stay the same way through the game.

Is it possible to see a player injured in one of the all-star game?

If that ever happened to someone, how serious was the injury??
