Re: MLB The Show 16 Q&A Thread

Hey guys. I have a quick question.

How does progression work in an offline franchise? How quickly will A potential and B potential ratings progress? Also, what areas of their game improve? If they don't have a lot of power now, will they develop it?

Seems like that has been happening alot lately whether it be a pitcher from my team or the pitcher on the other team, low pitch counts deep in the ball game

      Is that normal?
I've seen that too. In RTTS MLB: The Show '14, my favorite accomplishment was drawing 120 walks. Now in this game (played for 1 day now) I've seen like 3 total balls thrown to me, they only throw strikes

Ok, I misworded it. Not stats, accolades. I wanna see velocity, control, etc for pitchers and power, contact, etc for batters. Still can't see speed for runners on base. If I'm on first (99 speed) and some unknown AA guy is in front of me, how will I know if he can score on a hit to the outfield

There was an option to turn replay challenges off in 2015. I can't seem to find it in 2016. Not in Gameplay settings or Sliders. Challenges are fine in real life baseball but all the calls should be right in a game. Help me out, someone. Thanks.

Not sure what you mean but it depends on what batting camera you use. With the fish eye default cam the baserunner speed is in the right hand corner with the number displayed for his speed

Yeah that seems to be it. I can see the guy on 1st and 3rd speed when I'm batting. I can't see the pitchers accolades like control, K/9 etc. and I can't see the batters accolades when I'm on the bases or in the field. This might be the first MLB: The Show that I've rated 1 out of 10. Just terrible quality

                Has anyone seen this issue?

When I have runners on base I am using auto base running. however many times they start to run and just stop in the middle of the base paths or they don't run and all and have to be prompted by me hitting L1.

Also during my online league the pitchers fatigue but it does not appear that the players do, because the green health meter does not go down. Is this normal for online leagues? My players appear tired but the health is up, so I am not sure what to do.

No position player fatigue in online leagues.

What are the pros and cons of the online franchise as opposed to the offline franchise? I will just have one user team in it.

In the Advanced General Settings (General Settings-L2) there's an option called Umpire Close Plays or something like that. Turn that off (I'm pretty sure it's off, but I'll double check) and the umpires will get every call right, thus turning off challenges.

Thanks! Didn't see that advanced/basic option there.

For the Love of everything that is Holy, why can't I return my Runner leading off whenever I want to? I've been picked off too many times because even though Ibam tapping r1 like a madman, the player is not moving until the guy either covers at 2nd or the pitcher throws over. This has always happened in this series and I have no idea why I can't return the runner whenever I want to.

Yeah it's maddening. You can see them about to throw over, mash R1, and your runner literally just stands there to get picked off.

When you have pitch selection turned off can you still check the confidence of the cpu pitcher somewhere? When pressing left on the d-pad you can see their stamina but I can't find their confidence.

                              Thanks.
