This has always happened in this series and I have no idea why I can't return the runner whenever I want to.

Because its all automatic. The user has no control over a baserunner returning to the base on a pick off attempt.

Its been like this for years.

Because that is how the developers have set it up.

My guess is that they feel that the casual fan doesn't want to have to worry about returning a base runner to the base at the same time of concentrating on hitting. I really have no idea, but that is my guess.

You'll have to ask the devs why they did this or one of the community members knows the exact reason as to why.

Re: MLB The Show 16 Q&A Thread

My issue with the return of runners on lead offs is not that it is automatic. It's that the CPU picks off WAY too many.

I would estimate that I have played about 150 games across Play Now and Franchise. I would also estimate that I have been picked off about 50 to 75 times in those games.

Meanwhile, I have not picked the CPU off once. In fact, I've probably only picked the CPU off about 2 or 3 times total in the last 5 versions of this game that I have owned.

To make matters worse, I struggle to get to a 50% steal ratio without taking an extra lead (even with the slider at 8 or 9). So, I take the extra lead and get picked off instead of getting thrown out stealing, lol.

            It is frustrating, for sure.

Anyone noticed that during franchise mode you spend the first 2 months of the season scouting for the draft. usually takes between 3-5 days to fully scout a player. I ussally end up with about 30 fully scouted players before the draft. Once I enter the draft I than have 4-5 players completely scouted. I've had this issue come up even when I had the first pick so its not like all my scouted players are gone. Anyone experience this? Any tips? should i just completely skip scouting and not waste my time?

Is there a way to see batting average against for pitchers? The commentators reference almost every game, but I can't find that stat anywhere. If you go to the bullpen during games, you can at least see the BAA splits. Any one find a way to see it outside of gameplay?

Its an omitted stat this year. Its obviously figured up because as you said the announcers reference it, but as far as the user being able to find it, not going to happen. The average shown when viewing pitchers is there batting average.

Hopefully its added back in next year.

I think I've composed some halfway-decent sliders after some 60-odd games (75+ hours, surely).

Query: Say I have hitting on All-Star and pitching on Legend, Classic pitching, no HUD, ball-marker off, etc., will that be part of the slider package, or is it literally just the sliders?

Assuming the former, an "upload settings" feature would be nice, opposed to just sliders.

                    Cheers and thanks.

Some guys you scout don't enter the draft that year.
They might be in following drafts and I believe you keep your scouting info on them.

The visuals are not part of the sliders; it's only the gameplay sliders.

Why do they never show the fireworks on homeruns, anymore? I hear them going off, but it never shows them.

Because they decided to make broadcast presentation nothing like an actual broadcast.

It should be called fast broadcast from now on.

But you can retreat if the P doesn't start a pickoff, doesn't make sense to take away the option when it's most needed.
