Which they don't.

Majestic and New Era pay the teams and also give them jerseys for free. Seriously, I'm not making this up. I'm pretty sure Nike gives NFL teams free jerseys too. All of the suppliers are paid back via the consumer in the stands, people who will pay a premium to buy the authentic product.

Your experience in high school and college is not the way it works in the big leagues.

My degree is in economics too, man. And I understand how suppliers give money and apparel to pro athletes without charging them for it. The cost is passed on to others (i.e., us the consumer).

I wonder if they can't ask the teams themselves about the style guide? One year I think I heard someone say that if you don't like it, write a letter to the team. Why can't SCEA do that? Who's going to have more clout, Mr. Joe Schmoe fan, or a big company that partners with MLB? I can't for the life of me understand why MLB would get all bent out of shape over accurately-portrayed uniforms.

And why do we only have the same amount of slots that we've had since I believe 06? I know, the files are big. But you know what? Figure it out! I remember ESPN NFL 2K5 had pretty much every uniform every team ever wore since like 1960.

Jerseys have needed work for years. We're the consumers. Make us happy!

Completely agree with this. There are always "mistakes" made in sports games with regards to jersey accuracy. I understand there are legalities involved, but do you really think MLB is going to get bent out of shape if game developers don't follow everything on style guide, and just follow whats been worn in-game for the past 3-4 years? I know its much easier for me, the consumer, to complain about compared to an MLB partner, but it is very frustrating.

On another note, I wish they would give us some retro generic cleats we could edit. Shoe maker would be ideal, but just a couple of clipper cleats would be so nice.

It's time for my annual thread. This thread is dedicated to the main onfield home/road/alternate jerseys as well as any inconsistency with included throwbacks. This thread is meant to point out errors and not to criticize the slot system or style guide restrictions. I'm not fortunate enough to get my hands on an advanced copy, so I'll wait until I get mine or a YouTube video includes more than just jerseys. I will not consider one-off uniforms like Memorial Day or July 4th or Latin nights as omissions. Watch for this thread and feel free to add errors and omissions and please refrain from "it's cause of the guide" or "the slot system is dumb" or "NBA 2k does this or that" or "the 1971 pirates should be in" and stuff to that effect. EDIT: All 2016 BP/ST jerseys are NOT in. Teams like the Cards and Tigers don't have their new hats. Most teams are using their alt jerseys with sublimation on the lettering/numbering with a ST patch. This will not carry over into the season. I will not update errors on the bp jerseys since they are probably last years models and will be eliminated. There are also unused/discontinued hats in rotation such as rox purple, marlins orange, and Red Sox socks hat

Red Sox:
Yankees:
Rays: MISSING-Fauxback uniforms. ERROR-1998 & 1999 Home/Away Undershirts should be purple not dark green
Blue Jays: ERROR-1977 Home/Away blue caps are too dark, should be royal blue. Team accessories are also wrong color (black instead of blue). The only team with a new bp hat and its royal rather than navy blue.
Orioles: ERROR-1988 Home/Away missing names on back

Tigers:
Royals:
White Sox: ERROR-Road pants are still 2013 with white stripe. They use a black piping pattern now. 1983 Alternate/1972 Home/Away have the wrong batting helmets as they have the default black batting helmet for all uniforms.
Twins: MISSING-new red jersey. ERROR-don't appear to have gold outlines on hats. 1982 Home throwbacks should have Red batting helmets.
Indians: ERROR- white stripes on navy jersey are too thick

A’s:
Rangers: ERROR-1994 Home/Away accessories should be Red not Black.
Mariners: MISSING-cream alternate uniform and hat.
Astros: ERROR-1980 Home throwbacks should have Orange batting helmets. 1980 Away uniform is way wrong as it looks more like the 1986 uniform and the uniform should be cream/off color not GRAY.
Angels: ERROR-1997 Home/Away accessory colors are wrong. Should be Navy not Red.
1997-2001 Angels uniforms are missing the Anaheim-A logo on the left sleeve (yet the 2001 AL 100-year patch is correct on the right sleeve).

Mets: ERROR- home bp uses old plain white pants.
Braves: ERROR-1982 Home/Away missing names on the back.
Nationals: MISSING-red alt hat (has this been eliminated?)
Marlins: ERROR-1997 Home/Away batting helmets should Black, not teal. 1993 Away caps are missing black bill on caps and batting helmets. The Throwback Old home jersey with the teal sleeves should have a teal undershirt not black. The road Throwback Old cap is all teal when it should be teal with a black brim.The Miami home road home alternate and road alternate all have the collar piping too thick, they should be the same thickness as the sleeve piping. The black road alternate jersey Miami wordmark is missing a black border between the white letters and the silver outline. The 1993 Marlins away batting helmets should be black. 1993-1996 Marlins never had a teal batting helmet with black brim.
Phillies: ERROR-road alt pants are home pants.

Pirates: ERROR-all uniforms have the home/road/black uniform font where the throwbacks should have standard block font. MISSING- camo uniform and hat
Cubs: ERROR-1984 Home numbers should be Blue, not red. 1984 Away is missing names on the back.
Cardinals: ERROR-1982 Away should be a darker-lighter bluer as they appear almost near white. Cardinals road alt has a red belt when it should be blue.
Brewers: ERROR-wrong uniform on home throwback. Should be BREWERS and not in italics. 1993 Home/Away should be royal blue, not Navy.
Reds:

Giants: MISSING-Black lettered hat and Black alternate jersey.
Dodgers: ERROR-1981 Home/Away should not have stripe going down the shoulder
Rockies: ERROR (unless this is style guide or the team is changing back) the black vest has a purple undershirt. Using gray pinstripes pants with bp uni.
Diamondbacks: MISSING Red jersey, black jersey, and associated hats (they have 7 hats this year). They just have the 2 base home and 2 base road combos. There are hats that have different sublimated patterns associated with when they wear teal or red. They officially have 2 home whites, 2 road grays, red, black, latin, and throwback as uniform combos this season.
Padres: MISSING-new camo jersey and hat. ERROR-1978 Home/Away missing names on the back.

EDIT: This is the best I can do so far with a youtube video. I'll have to look myself and play games with teams to see little things like incorrect accessories or fonts/outlines. http://www.operationsports.com/forum...5-edition.html This is last year's and I'm sure most of those errors will carry over like the Rays not having an outline over their name on the light blue alternate.

I'm sorry but the fact that it's not in a style guide to me isn't a justifiable reason as to why a uniform that a team wears 12-15 times a year can't be included in the game. It's not like it's a game breaker by any stretch, but I feel like it's something easily attainable and just an oversight. Still a great game as always.

The Mets bench coaches/manager continue to wear the old jackets. They no longer wear the blue jacket with the black "Mets" they now wear a solid blue jacket with the Mr met logo (same as sleeve logo on alternate home/away) patch on the left. That's my only gripe about an almost near perfect game.

The alternate jerseys may look the same, but are not the same as st jerseys.

It's funny how the crowd wears the jerseys that aren't in the game like I play with the Brewers and was hoping to see the beer colored gold jerseys but they didn't have them but a majority of the crowd was wearing the jerseys. So for now I have worn the baby blue batting practice jerseys as my second alternates behind the navy blue jerseys.

I really hope they patch the Spring Training/BP jerseys into the game. I can deal with the other jersey issues, but the lack of the new BP/ST jerseys is unacceptable. Some of them are out of place even like the dbacks that have their logo on the ST/BP jersey.

I agree bro plus it gives some teams that don't have alternates a chance to use those during the regular season.

Ok I just played a game with my cubbies in the 84 roads and to my surprise they actually had the names on the back of them. Also the pants where grey with a red stripe. That's and error but honestly I would love it if the Cubs wore something like this as their dark road alt.

I loved those uniforms and the Cubbies looked real good in them back in the 80s when they wore them with white pants on the road. Back then you weren't exclusive to wearing gray pants like teams are now. Although this jersey would look sweet like their current alts with the road gray pants. Their current blue alts seem like their primary road jersey since they started using them in 1998 as I see them wearing those jerseys more than the grays.

I actually wanted the Cubs to adopt a second colored alternate jersey and make it a dark blue one or the same shade as their 80s one or adopt baby blue like their road uniforms back in the 70s with the pinstripes. I remembered when the new blue ones first came in 1998 I saw in EA's Triple Play Baseball 1999 I believe that year that the color was dark blue and it looked cool with the white pants so I've always wanted to see them come out with that version ever since.

I was disappointed when they came out with that stupid gray alternate a couple of years ago and they barely wore those and I heard they might've gotten rid of them this season but not real sure just yet.

Cubs should bring back a new version of those 80s blue road jerseys. They could make a lot of money off of those.
