Seems weird. I remember last year (and possibly this year, idk) the Astros had their warmup jerseys set for spring training as well as certain regular season games.
Obviously I'm no dev and really my only reasonings for saying/questioning anything about jerseys is from a consumer standpoint, but I just have to question the way jerseys are implemented. I remember the show's first year on ps4, it was stated that the ps3 could run somewhere around 20-30 different crowd models, while the ps4 could run potentially up to a thousand. Yet jersey file sizes are too big to up the number from machines released 10 years ago. They implemented PBR this year and gave literally every part of a ballpark a surface type that takes in and reflects sunlight in a magnitude of different ways, but jersey file sizes are too big. They added closed roofs, but jersey files are too big. I'm assuming some of that has to do with jerseys flowing and fitting a movable object's body, idk.
Its just weird to me. SCEA have been one of the greatest dev teams from all standpoints over the years and theyve accomplished a lot of things that many thought were impossible, I feel like thats where the frustration with jerseys comes from because out of everything we have been gifted with, it seems hard to believe that jerseys are their kryptonite. I really hope they do some deep research for future games because in terms of variety and accuracy, its the only true weakness of this game visually. The fact that jersey numbers still hang too low after at least 5 years of complaints is the part that worries me. If they hang too low for every team and the excuse is the same layout is used for every team, i dont see where the issue is if it affects every jersey.
