Re: MLB 16 Trade Discussion Thread
Erm, let's gets a double check on those three for Smyly straight up. Seems as if my trades senses have been off lately! Seems like a solid package, and Cubs could use another solid controllable arm.Come hang with me on YouTube! I stream/make videos on a variety of games from sports, to action, to adventure!

MLB 16 Trade Discussion Thread
I've decided to stay away from an Astros franchise until the roster project I'm working on is complete.
I'm going with a Rays rebuild team. I'd like to keep their rotation as close as possible, but am willing to trade a 2-3 of them to get the players I want. I made a list below, and I understand some may be considered "untouchable".
PLAYERS I WANT (RED PLAYERS I WANT THE MOST)
Brewers 1B Chris Carter
Giants 2B Kelby Tomlinson
Phillies 3B Maikel Franco
Cubs SS Javier Baez
Reds SS Jose Peraza
Twins OF Danny Santana
Twins OF Miguel Sano
Rangers OF Delino DeShields Jr
Marlins OF Marcell Ozuna
Cubs OF Jorge Soler
D'Backs OF Yasmany Tomas
D'Backs OF/IF Chris Owings
Dodgers OF Kike Hernandez
Padres OF Jabari Blash
Padres OF Travis Jankowski
Like I said before, I understand some of these may not be realistic. If they are, just say so. Don't need to go in-depth on it. Lol
Any MLB talent is available. I'm more than willing to use Kiermaier, Forsythe, Longoria, Moore, or Boxberger to make any of these deals work.
To further this post, I'm at work for a 12 hour shift and I thought of a few trades while I worked. Here's what I was thinking.
-- TRADE 1: (credit to Bard for the help)
Cubs get:
SP Drew Smyly
B/C-level Prospect
Rays get:
OF Jorge Soler
SS/2B Javier Baez
1B Dan Vogelbach
-- TRADE 2:
Padres get:
3B Evan Longoria
Rays get:
OF Jabari Blash
OF Travis Jankowski
++??
-- TRADE 3:
Brewers get:
2 C-level Prospects
Rays get:
1B Chris Carter
-- TRADE 4:
Phillies get:
OF Kevin Kiermaier
++??
Rays get:
3B Maikel Franco
++??
-- TRADE 5:
Rangers get:
B-level Prospect
Rays get:
OF Delino DeShields Jr.
Just brainstorming some deals. Let me know what you think!Last edited by rovert22044; 05-19-2016, 01:41 PM.Football Data Analyst @ Tracking Football

Re: MLB 16 Trade Discussion Thread
I'd prefer to move Smyly, even if I have to drop the package a bit. That or add a prospect going to the Cubs in return. Vogelbach is blocked by Rizzo, so I can see them shipping him out for a prospect at a position of need.Football Data Analyst @ Tracking Football

Soler and Baez seems too much. They are both high ceiling guys. Do something like Baez plus Vogelbach if you want for Smyly.
If the Padres aren't competing they have no use for an aging 3rd baseman.
Chris Carter deal seems fine.
Maikel Franco isn't going anywhere, but I will say, KK is awesome too, so I think it is pretty solid value wise just not realistic.
That's too much for DelinoComment

Re: MLB 16 Trade Discussion Thread
Yea I get that. I was just saying if you wanted to get both back you would have to move Archer instead of Smyly. I like AC's proposal of Baez for Smyly straight up.Comment

Re: MLB 16 Trade Discussion Thread
Thank you everyone for the responses. They're greatly appreciated.
So I think I'll do:
1. Smyly to the Cubs for Baez + Vogelbach
2. 2 C-level prospects to the Brewers for 1B Chris Carter
3. 1 C-level prospect to Rangers for DeShields Jr (maybe two C-level prospects?)
Would love to find trades for my two main trade chips in Kevin Kiermaier and Evan Longoria. If I could get some players from the list I made in my OP, that would be awesome. I really wish there was a way to get Sano from the Twins or Franco from the Phillies.

The thing is both Sano and Franco are 23 years old on rebuilding teams. When teams rebuild they try to hold on to all of their talented young cost controlled players, especially right handed power. That's why I don't think it would happen, at least not for a few more years.
Sano in particular, 80 grade power doesn't come around often. That's the type of player you hold onto.Comment

Re: MLB 16 Trade Discussion Thread
As somebody using the Twins in a franchise, there's no way I move Sano. Even with his struggles for me, that raw power is such a commodity. Only a few guys in the league can drive the ball like him and he's 23.

Oh no I completely understand why they wouldn't want to let those guys go, which is exactly why I want them so badly. Haha. A young, power threat is really what I'm looking for. I found that in Jabari Blash, but I wouldn't mind having more. LolFootball Data Analyst @ Tracking Football
