Re: MLB 16 Trade Discussion Thread

How painful does a Zach Wheeler trade need to be for the Red Sox? Can I make an Shaw/Owens/Marrero package work? Trying to give them some useful pieces for a contender. Obviously the injury complicates this valuation.

Would the Marlins want anything real to get rid of Martin Prado's $11M contract?

Wouldn't mind a lefty bullpen arm either, Glen Perkins is 33 with $19M coming to him over the next 3 years. Mike Dunn has $3.4M coming from the Marlins, could work him into a Prado trade. Jake McGee $4.8M from the Rockies.

Thanks for any & all suggestions!

I've asked a couple times and don't think I've got a response with all the debates lately, but what could Felix Hernandez and Cruz net me? Separate trades of course

Ok so for Felix ur prolly gonna get 2 A prospects + an mlb ready player (85OVR or above) and maybe get a B porspect aswell. That's just me though, let's see what others think

What will it take to get Taijuan Walker out of Seattle into the Bo Sox? I'm willing to give up Eduardo Rodriguez, but who else is needed? Walker is 2-4 irl

I don't think any team would give up an 85+ overall type of player if they're getting Felix (meaning they would be in desperate need of a pitcher and contending). There are certain instances where someone is blocked or whatever, but you usually make room for guys with overall ratings that high. A contender isn't going to ship one its best players out to get Felix, it would be prospects. Ideally if you're the Mariners, yeah you'd want that, but you have to look at both sides.

In that case, I think looking at the Cole Hamels deal would be a decent start value-wise. Couple of A's and a B or two if Felix is pitching well.

Yeah my plan wasn't going to involve any Mlb players. Just prospects who are close to making the jump. What teams you think are in position and what does that prospect package look like from them? Texas would uhh ave to overpay, which I'm ok with. Yankees have some prospects I like. Who else? I run Boston, Detroit, Seattle, Colorado, Atlanta, cubs.

Is Felix even that far above 85 OVR anymore? Walks up, K's down, velo down a ton. There are a lot of bullets on that arm.

I just lucked out in the draft and got a franchise catcher 75/91. He almost has Vazquez defense and his hitting is on par with Swihart.

My question is Swihart and Owens plus what to get Julio Teheran or a similiar arm? I don't like pitching with lefties, its harder for me for some reason that I havnt figured out, so RHPs please.

I can use Vaz this year and upgrade my pitching and then slot in my new catcher at some point next year. To make it realistic I might keep him in the minors until August since draft picks never go straight to the bigs anymore.

He's doing great for me. 9-4 just under 3 era. When he's not pitching the team isn't great. So that's why I need to trade him. Stats are good as I mentioned.

Re: MLB 16 Trade Discussion Thread

I'm in season two with the Dodgers and am thinking about roster balance issues.

I have more pitching than I know what to do with. I have probably 5-8 guys in the minors who could play on the parent club by the ASB this year or Opening Day in year three.

I also have occupied slots in the rotation that include the following guys on multi-year deals:

                        Kershaw
                        Kazmir
                        Maeda
                        Ryu
                        McCarthy

The guys in the minors who could be promoted on most teams by the ASB include:

                        Bolsinger
                        Wood
                        Urias
                        Lee

I also have Brett Anderson who is 29, 80 OVR, and coming off a stellar season with a sub-3.0 ERA in long relief and spot starts.

And there are a few behind them that will be in the same position in a year.

I'm willing to part with two of these guys, Kershaw and Maeda aside.

What I want to do is rebuild the roster around speed and defense.

I have the following guys coming off the books this year who will not be retained unless I can't find a better solution:

                        Turner
                        Kendrick
                        Crawford
                        Ethier

That will free up close to $20M alone.

I'd like to pursue a trade option that brings me positional prospects who are 2 years away from The Show, max, and I'd like prospects who are known for high defensive potential and 70+ speed, at least.

I'd also like to concentrate my search on the OF, particularly a solid LF option, and on 2B. I'd also like to try to leverage my overstock of pitchers to create more positional depth in the farm system. The only players I like are Trayce Thompson, Micah Johnson, and Austin Barnes.

Are there any teams with clogs in AAA or in the majors where young players are right ahead of top prospects that are likely to unseat them in a year or two? I think these players are the most realistic targets, and I know there are teams that have this situation.

                        Any thoughts?

Look at the cubs. See how their starters are doing. And look at Baez and Happ at 2B, Soler and McKinney in OF and Vogelsbach at 1B. Could grab one or two of those guys

Me as well. Stats are good too. Why I was wondering what kind of prospect package I could get. Looking at NYY/TX/TO. Not sure who else besides Boston, who I run and don't want to give up their prospects, could afford him and has the parts to make it work

Cubs could be an option, depending on how Hammel/Hendricks/Lackey are doing. If any of them are struggling, but they're still in contention, I could see them going after a top arm
