Does Dylan Bundy have any value left? I just can't pitch with his slow wind up. He still has a high ceiling If he can stay healthy now. Of course after two Tommy John surgeries that is a big IF.

I know he isn't going to command a huge package back like he may once have but he could still get you a low B or High C guy back?

Didn't look like a top prospect today.

Re: MLB 16 Trade Discussion Thread

Playing as the Yankees in my chise right now and I just hit the all star break. Im sitting just over .500 and about 8 games back in the division and 4 games back in the wildcard.

I'm tempted to unload both Chapman and Miller since I have gotten very good contributions from Johnny Barbato and Kirby Yates. Looking around the league, both the Rangers and the Cubs could use some help. I'm looking at a Miller for Soler or Schwarber, and Chapman for either Profar or Gallo. Would straight up be fair for these two? Or would I have to throw in some more?

Sometimes they make sense, other times teams don't want to be "that team" that gave up a prospect who blossoms into a superstar for another prospect that could flame out. The risk might not always outweigh the reward.

But what I was getting at there was that top 10 prospects (like Gallo) don't normally get traded for other prospects.
Wallace was 23 and so was Gose. That's prospect age. I dunno, I think it should happen more. Still no idea why Tavares/Profar never happened.

Good grief, man. He's 19 and making his 1st MLB start on the road in New York. A little context goes a long way.

You're not getting those types of names for relief pitchers, no matter how dominant they are. No Soler/Schwarber/Gallo types. Profar is a maybe, I guess. But the point is that relievers don't fetch young, controllable MLB position players that have All Star upside.

Just not sure what power hitting 3B makes sense. Really the only open spot i have on my starting roster. Beltre makes sense. Valbuena makes sense too. Honestly just not a fan of Freese, want an upgrade there.
I may have missed a post somewhere, but what happened to Kang? That guy mashes for me. I think an upgrade at SS would be the best move, you could stick with Texas, and get Profar for a lot cheaper than Gallo. You may even be able to hold on to Taillon.

In fact, this year Kershaw, even while making $30 million, will put up something ridiculous like $55 million in surplus value. Put this another way, you're getting enough value from Kershaw to darn near pay him, Ryan Howard, and Albert Pujols combined.
Kershaw is damn valuable in his own right, never said otherwise. They're both similar in surplus value. Last year Archer was paid $1m, he was worth 5.5 wins so thats about 40 million in surplus value. Kershaw was paid 30 million and put up about 8.5 wins last year so about 30 million in surplus value. Using 7m/w to calculate value.

Archer is also a year younger and locked up for 6 more years as opposed to Kershaw's 3 years.

                    This is also not true.

Nor is he the most valuable commodity in baseball.

Not enough for Schwarber and Soler isn't enough for Odorizzi. Why not Baez and Vogelbach for that package?

I love BUxton but i could deal Jay, Berrios or Gordon to get a high priced pitcher. I know Sal is within division so I was also looking at guys like Patrick Corbin or Sonny Gray.

Didn't think I could go after those guys with Jake plus I can't bay worth of hell with Baez !!! lol

Would the Cubs pair one of those guys with Soler to make this happen or should I just look else where ?

I would like to keep this as realistic/fair on all fronts.

If you want Soler and Vogelbach for Odorizzi the Cubs would most likely do it. I don't like the value for the Rays but It's not like they're getting ripped off at all
