Re: MLB 16 Trade Discussion Thread
Gotta give something of value for Wheeler and J.D. is off to a slow start this year no way he matches his out put of last year but if he does your statement is correct
Does age ? team control ? any of that come into play ?Last edited by Dirty_D_; 06-05-2016, 10:19 PM.NewYork Mets | NewYork Knicks | NewYork "Football" Giants

Re: MLB 16 Trade Discussion Thread
Martinez had 9 WAR over the last two years and Wheelers best ever was 2.5. No one would pay a big time slugger like Martinez for a guy still recovering from TJ. The Tigers would hang up unless it started with Matz not WheelerComment

Re: MLB 16 Trade Discussion Thread
I've always liked Wheeler myself, so I can understand wanting him. And it's possible he could be seen as the odd man out with the growth of the other pitchers in the system. While those other players may not be better than what the Mets already have, they are currently better than Wheeler since they are currently available to play. There's a possibility Wheeler may not even be able to play this year if has setbacks in his recovery, so I don't think that can be used as much of an argument. Castellanos could easily spell Wright at third base, providing some insurance there with his recent injury history. Or even in the outfield since he's had time there as well. Granderson's struggles are known, and I'd rather have either Collins or Moya to get them playing time and preferably use Granderson off the bench. I would take Moya first as he is hitting really well in AAA and is looking like a strong prospect. Norris has some potential, and could take Wheeler's place in the rotation. He's helpful to the team this year definitively. Those three could be the basis of a potential trade, I believe. Again, this is with players that are not quite prospects since they've all played in the majors some, but is youth and depth and some help this year as well.Pistol Power- The Coaching Career of Zarek Stryker

Re: MLB 16 Trade Discussion Thread
Hey all. Hope all is well for everyone this coming week. Wanted to throw a trade out there for my Indians franchise and see what you all think?
Season Info that matters in context of trade
I play on dynamic difficulty and on current level all star plus for pitching and Hall of Fame for hitting. Legend for fielding.
Date July 1.
Record 45-32 ( 1st in division. 2.5 games up on Detroit)
It has been an up and down season. I had a stretch where I won 19 of 23. I also had a stretch where I lost 16 of 20 after that. I am on a current 9 game win streak at the moment (by a great offensive, surprised offense last week.)
My scenario. I want to trade former all star 2b Jason Kipnis? His numbers? One of best players in league. See stats below.
Kipnis. 262 abs, 7 Hr's, 36 Rbi's, 359 BA, .384 OBP, .400 vs RHP, .260vsLHP, .342RISP, 21 sb's. 15 errors .937 FP%, Contract 4yr/42 mil
Now. you ask. why would you want to trade Kipnis? Well. I have brought up one of my prospects Ronny Rodriguez and he is hitting off the hook. I think he might become my future 2b. As you can tell, Kip is having a bad year defensively. Thing is Rodriguez is worst. His numbers below
Ronny Rodriguez
34 games, 113 abs, 2 hrs, 8 rbis, .363 avg, .385 obp, .324vsRHP, 420vsLHP, .269RISP, 10 errors and .868 FP%
Now. he don't have the power numbers but he has had so many big hits. I am been playing him at DH (since Napoli is out for the next two months.) Also, he sucks defensively (Fielding rating a 42) I seem to be okay with him as long as he not trying to be Vizquel out there. I think he could become solid defensive player at some point (good arm).
I know in a stretch of trying to get to playoffs they would not in RL trade Kipnis. In my franchise, if i decided to turn it over to Rodriguez at 2b, what could Kipnis bring back? The thing is I don't what I need. I have no gaping hole in my lineup. Everyone is performing as I would hope. My team is the worst defensive team in baseball, though. We have 21 more errors than the next team. It has been helped by Urshela coming up from AAA but fact is, we suck catching the ball. My pitching has been a mix bag
Salazar 9-3 3.18 era
Bauer 7-1. 2.01 era
After that, though. Kluber has not been good. Near 4.50 era. Carrasco has almost a 6 era (he has missed most of season due to various, multiple injuries) My rookie Will Roberts has been good last two starts (fairlyrecent callup) but first 3 games looked like a BP pitcher. I don't know if he is the answer. So, I would say pitching would be what i might need to get backup and maybe a young prospect.
So, throw out what I should expect and any players that might be in play?Comment

Did you create Otani before you started the franchise or is there a new roster with him in it?Comment

Re: MLB 16 Trade Discussion Thread
Hey guys. I am doing a Franchise involving the Atlanta Braves. I am still on MLB 15 but I am using the 2016 rosters. So far with my franchise I am 24-15 and in first place by 3 games due to some great starting pitching from Teheran, Wisler and Folty. I am wanting to add some right handed power and am considering trading for Wil Myers. i know he is at first but I am going to move him back to left field. Here is my package for him:
Ovr 72 - 19 yo SS - B potential - Some International Free Agent. Can't remember his name.
Ovr 58 - 22 yo P - B potential - Andrew Thurman
Ovr 56 - 21 yo 2B - B potential - Kyle Holder. Got him from the Yankess in an earlier deal.
Is this enough or is it an overpay? The CPU loves the deal and I think it is fair. Thoughts.Comment

Re: MLB 16 Trade Discussion Thread
Want to possibly trade Billy Hamilton for a reds rebuild going into season 2, the OSFM rosters has hiking with 99 speed and baserunning, along with awesome fielding , he sucks at hitting and getting on base. What value would he bring me or should I just abandon his leadoff dreams and stick him in the 8 holeComment

Re: MLB 16 Trade Discussion Thread
Nope, nope, and nope. For an ace you need to move one of Benintendi, Espinoza, Devers, Moncada.
Also what is the value of a guy like Pedroia, with the stats similar to what he has IRL? JW because I'm going to call Moncada soon and want to hand him the job next season.

Oh I know it's a deal fans don't want to happen. But with Dembrowski at the helm anything can and will happen. And that's the way I'm running my team.

Re: MLB 16 Trade Discussion Thread
Pedroia would have some value with stats like he has IRL this season, but you probably need to take a decently large contract back to get a top prospect. The problem is he'll turn 34 near the end of the '17 season and still has 5 more years on his contract after this one. Also, since it's the Show, his contract doesn't de-escalate like IRL, he'll continue to make more and more to the end of his deal. That lessens his value a bit.Chicago Cubs | Chicago Bulls | Green Bay Packers | Michigan WolverinesComment
