Re: MLB 16 Trade Discussion Thread
The braves can do much better else where. And that's not even taking the stats into affect.
Why would a rebuilding team give you a prospect for one slightly better while giving away Markakis (worth about 2 mid-high C depending on stats) and not to mention Vizcaino being worth 2 mid B's again without any stats to go on.
Just a bad trade. Braves are getting ripped off hard.Comment

Re: MLB 16 Trade Discussion Thread
Alrighty getting close to that time in my franchise, I am at the all-star break and both Swihart and Vazquez have been solid on defense but haven't proved too much on offense.
Christian Vazquez: .236/.292/.299 in 127 AB. He has zero errors and a 0.63 WAR (need anything else let me know)
Blake Swihart MLB followed by AAA (currently in AAA): .239/.272/.402 in 117 AB. He had one error and a 0.52 WAR. In Triple A he has 160 AB hitting .338, 7 home runs, 20 RBI.
Reason for giving their stats is because I would like to have one of them in the deal for Jonathan Lucroy. They haven't been amazing, but they still have value. A potential package I have thought about is this...
Brewers Recieve:
Christian Vazquez/ Blake Swihart (stats above)
Henry Owens 2.69 ERA/1.30 WHIP/3.59 FIP (need anything else let me know)
Sam Travis .316/.384/.492/.876 OPS/.175 ISO
Red Sox Recieve:
Jonathan Lucroy .293/.352/.418/.770/2.96 WAR
Believe it is also Lucroy's walk year so he could very well be a rental.Come hang with me on YouTube! I stream/make videos on a variety of games from sports, to action, to adventure!

Aside from that, I don't think your proposal gets it done for Lucroy. He's having a good year and even if he weren't, you'd need to have a better headliner. At this point, neither Swihart nor Owens is a headliner for a player of Lucroy's caliber (although one or both of those guys are in every single Red Sox deal I've seen on here lately). Two years ago, the Brewers would've been salivating at this. How times change.
My feeling is that you'll need to dip into the Benintendi/Espinoza well to get Lucroy. I don't think you have to include Moncada, but definitely one of the other top buzz guys.
Something like Benintendi (can play CF, eventual replacement for Braun) + Owens/Barnes/Johnson (ready to contribute/eat innings now) + Kopech (lottery ticket a ways off with 2/3 upside). Possibly a near-ready guy who can play 1B instead of one of the pitchers.
I could see a deal centered around Espinoza as well.Last edited by WaitTilNextYear; 06-13-2016, 03:51 AM.Chicago Cubs | Chicago Bulls | Green Bay Packers | Michigan WolverinesComment

Re: MLB 16 Trade Discussion Thread
I am assuming that you are in 2016? If so, it's not Lucroy's walk year; he has a super cheap team option for 2017 at $5.25MM that is 100% likely to get picked up. Whatever roster you're using should have included it..or if it were just me, I'd make him re-sign for that amount using 30-team control in the offseason.

Benintendi
Owens
Ball/Chavis
Kopech
For
Lucroy
Peralta/Smith
I just turned off my PS4, but am curious if that's a decent base deal or is it a straight prospects for Lucroy nothing else included swap.Come hang with me on YouTube! I stream/make videos on a variety of games from sports, to action, to adventure!

Yes 2016, and I'd be totally okay giving up Benintendi I'm thinking. My outfield is set with my platoon, JBJR, Mookie. So would this one fly?

Re: MLB 16 Trade Discussion Thread
Brinson yes, Tate no. But it will hurt to get an elite catcher like Lucroy when he's only owned $4 million this year and $5.2 million next year. This offer let's the Rangers keep Mazara and Gallo. Maybe switch out Tate or Brinson and switch that player to Profar.Comment

Not sure how this can help but right now the Mets and Brewers are in discussions on a trade for Lucroy (reported over this last 4 game series) via New York Post (can be taken with a grain of salt)

Re: MLB 16 Trade Discussion Thread
I disagree. I've seen Tate rated as high as #18 (MLB.com or BA). In most places, no lower than 30. While I am a Texas fan, I try to remain unbiased. And I think a top 30 player, plus Profar, is simply too much for a 30 yr old catcher. Three years ago Profar was the top prospect in baseball. And it wasn't a lack of production that made him somewhat fall off the grid. It was injuries. And, he appears to be healthy now.Comment
