I was thinking Miller for Rodriguez as a comparison, but obviously Chapman is better and far more proven than Miller was. That's my thought.

And to be fair, this offseason's trade was tainted by the fact Chapman might have been going to jail, which was gross on my Yankees' part, and why I kind of want him gone in this trade. Even then, I was thinking Chapman plus stuff.

      Alrighty.

Swihart and Owens for Strasburg? No stats really yet as I am in April. Too much?

Neither team does it. You are in April. And the only way the Nats trade Strasburg is if they are out of it at the deadline.

Words from the great Theo Epstein: It’s hard to make a trade in April. As a rule, you don’t want to. It means something’s gone wrong, and you usually have to overpay.

I watch Chapman pitch and dominate that's how I come up with that.

With the deadline coming up, I want to trade Clay Buchholz to a contender looking for starter depth.

Clay is having an exceptional year:10-1, 2.72 ERA, 1.16 WHIP.

What package could he bring in, in terms of prospect grades?

I think the people who traded Chapman watched him more than you did, and they felt comfortable accepting something significantly less than that.

That's great for them......but they were not going to pay him, knew he had a domestic dispute....and we are talking about a video game where I dominate with him.

Chapman for Gallo on "MLB The Show" is a fair deal.

                Please man.

The only thing that doesn't apply to both scenarios is the domestic dispute and if you think that's the difference between Eric Jagielo and Joey Gallo then that's your prerogative, but I'll challenge you to find one reliever with a year of control that's been traded for a prospect like Gallo.

What would Tyson Ross be worth, I had acquired him in spring training with the Astros for Marisnick, Martes and one lesser prospect. He is pitching good 3-1 3.45 era, just don't like using him that much.

While I agree with you that Chapman alone is not enough, there is the matter that the Reds went with quantity of quality, that much is clear. That being said, what do you think has to be added to Chapman to get Gallo?

They didn't say hey we would love worse prospects so we can get 4 instead of 2. The DV was a big deal. They took the best they were offered for him. If Chapman would = Gallo the Reds would have Gallo playing in the bigs right now. No reliever with 1 year is worth that haul. Gallo is worth more than Margot who was the centerpiece to the Kimbrel deal and Kimbrel is locked up long term.

Re: MLB 16 Trade Discussion Thread

I am currently reaching mid-May of my Padres franchise. I am 14-17 but my goal is to do a total rebuild and take a few years to establish a good team. I'm trying to go with uncertain, young prospects that I can manually train and play with.

I usually wait longer into the year but two situations arose where I took advantage. (Btw this is 30-team control, but I only do everything for San Diego.)

Seattle is off to a hot start but already lost Iwakuma for the year and Paxton for 3-4 months. Meanwhile, Andrew Cashner was 3-1 with a 2.77 ERA for me so we agreed to this trade:

Cashner to Seattle for Luiz Gohara (19 year old B potential) and Adrian Sampson (24 year old C)

Next, my division rival Colorado is currently 19-13 but Mark Reynolds just went down for 6+ months adn Ben Paulsen is out for 1-2 months. My backup 1B and 3B Brett Wallace has been tearing it up (hitting .308 with 5 HR and 14 RBI) so I sold him off in this deal:

Wallace for 3B Tyler Nevin (18 year old B). Thought this was cool because he is also the son of former Padre Phil Nevin!

Are these deals pretty fair? On the trade meter they were perfectly aligned and I think they make sense. Should I have gotten more for Cashner?

Drew Smyly just went on the Trade Block for the Rays; they're seeking a 1B and C.

I'm the Indians and have thought of a package of Carlos Santana, Francisco Meija, and Mitch Brown. Using the Best roster of course OS.

What would it take? Is this a decent package?

I was also hoping to maybe get a lesser platoon guy to play against righties if possible. I hit very well with Ryan Raburn and I picked up Chris Carter in the offseason so thats why I'm thinking of shopping Parra.
