Also thinking about shipping off Steven Wright (3.02 ERA) as well. What is his value?

Didn't make it clear. What if I am at the deadline. I'd never make a deal this early.

If that was true then Jagielo+ should be worth Gallo. Which we know it isn't.

I think it'd have to be a Marlins/Jays or Dodgers/Red Sox kinda deal.

What would it take? Is this a decent package?

Smyly was the gem of their David Price deal. I doubt they would deal him for a DH and a couple of lower level prospects. They already traded for C-Dick who is a great hitter for them at DH.

On top of that, the Indians already have a plethora of SP options. It is significantly more likely the Indians trade one of their starters for a bat than trading a bat for another starter.

I would say with a year like that he is worth an oldish mid-c rated prospect, because right now he is just pitching out of his mind, and who knows if its sustainable.

Come back when it gets to the ASG. Because it all hinges on how the Nats are doing for them to consider a trade of their number 2 starter.

Makes sense. Never trust a knuckleballer.

                  What about Clay Buchholz value?

                  10-1, 2.72 ERA, 1.16 WHIP

With the year he is having, I figure he can bring in some worthwhile value from a contender.

Re: MLB 16 Trade Discussion Thread

Ok, so I started a franchise with the Texas Rangers, and Joey Gallo has been raking all season so far (end of May) and I think I want to get rid of Beltre (old and makes a good amount of money) for someone like Severino from the Yanks, or Strasburg from the Nats.

What do you think it'll take to get one of these two guys?

PS: If Severino I would also like to get a mid B outfielder prospect.
                    Thanks.

Neither one of those guys is worth a 37 year old 3rd baseman. Those guys (depending on stats and division races) are worth a prospect of Gallo's stature. Because as we all know at the deadline prices are crazy, especially for ace caliber pitchers like Strasberg.

Should've mentioned that both pitchers are doing pretty bad so far (both over 4.9 ERA) and teams are last in their respective divisions. Beltre is doing pretty good (.279 AVG, 11 HRs, and 29 RBIs) in 42 games.

Would this make it easier? If so, how much easier?

To get Strasburg from the Nats you'd have to give up prospects, Beltre doesn't fit anywhere there with Rendon, Turner, Murphy, Zimmerman all locked up for awhile. If they are out it they'd Def want to stockpile for the future instead of adding expensive, aging pieces.

Probably not that much because it's still early in the season (Mid-May, I think). Severino is still under team for 5.5 years (2022 is when he hits FA for the first time). And neither one of those guys are moving in Mid-May.

                              July 9
Tampa offered me Erasmo Ramirez for Alexi Ramirez.
I'm the fourth worst record in baseball because I am pretty much tanking this year. They are first wild card 1 game back in the east.
My Ramirez is hitting .299 5 HR 32 RBI 5 SB
                              Their Ramirez is 6-7 4.20 1.34

Cost controlled pitching for a guy I probably wont resign works for me but is it it fair? They are currently fielding Brad Miller at SS .261 5 HR 14RBI and Tim Beckham .231 1 HR 8 RBI.
