I think you tend to develop strong opinions on your own players sometimes lol

Dickey's probably anywhere between 3 and 4 wins this year, DeShields is 1, Rua is 1 if he's lucky, considering need + team control + salary yeah it's probably even.

Yea you're probably right there! However I can never pitch with dickey and he will regress to like 67 overall and prob retire at the end of the year. Feels like I am just stealing Deshields and Rua.

Maybe I take Hamilton+Rua+a starter prospect?? Or give back some kind of lesser prospect?? Although I am drooling to know I could get Deshields for Dickey!

Could take back Colby Lewis? I dunno. DeShields really isn't very good. Neither is Rua.

Okay I will give this some serious consideration! Thanks a lot. Acquiring another bat would mean I would only need a top of the rotation starter come deadline and I should be set.

After looking, Deshields is hitting .299 with 19 RBI and 14 steals. He's rated 79(A) and has 72/68 contact with great speed and fielding. Maybe it's just the rosters I am using :/ damn I really wanted him haha!

I'm a Rangers fan, so I'm bias, why do you think so lowly of DeShields?

A .260/.340/.370 line in Texas is pretty bad. Especially on a semi-inflated BABIP. I don't think he's necessarily as good as a guy like Inciarte or Pillar.

I understand your point about Deshields and I would love to acquire him. However, In my chise he doesn't seem like a realistic or fair option in this deal. What starting pitcher prospect (close to mlb ready) could I get with Rua+Hamilton for Dickey?

Chi Chi or is Luke Jackson still around and a B?

You can't hate RA Dickey so much that you're willing to take on $25 million a year for several years.

Yeah I think this needs to be factored in. They'd be getting one decent year out of Dickey and nothing more. To be honest, I'm not as bullish as you guys on 41-year-old knuckleball pitchers.

First of all, didn't you like Ryan Rua before? lol. Or am I imagining that?

Aside from that, you're being too harsh with Delino the Younger. He played in the majors as a 22/23 y/o last season and put up 1.3 fWAR with a pretty nice slash for his profile of player. I think he has room for growth (especially in converting his speed into steals and on defense) and it's too soon to count him out as not being very good. He actually performed better last season than I would've expected from a Rule 5 pick.

I don't typically factor that in because I avoid that with 30 team control.

I mean, Rua could be a nice flier, but he's not a legit contributor. DeShields threw up a sub-average wRC+ on a BABIP that screams regression; again, I'd take a guy like Obudel over him. He's just a fast outfielder that can't really hit. There are a lot of those.

You can keep guys from retiring with 30-team control? Teach me!

Hard to BABIP-check a guy with DeShields' speed. I'd think we'd want more data. But, a .334 BABIP is not at all unreasonable for a burner. In fact, it might be a bit low.

As the Blue Jays. What kind of middle reliever do you think I could get for Jesse Chavez? He was out pitched by Gavin Floyd for the LR spot, and I would prefer to move him for a MR rather than put him in that spot.

                              Bullpen is currently...

                              LR: Gavin Floyd (R)
                              MR: Jesse Chavez (R)
                              MR: Pat Venditte (S)
                              MR: Aaron Loup (L)

Probably a solid 7th inning guy/fringy 8th inning guy. I'd look around to see what teams need a good 5th/swing man like Chavez and see what relievers they have.
