I have a full outfield and want a RP to replace Smith? I don't see the point in putting someone that much money on the bench, or minors. So why not deal a strength for a weakness...rather simple actually.

But then why would other teams put that money on the bench? Or in the minors ?

Well I would deal him to a team in need of a starting outfielder? I am not too sure what is hard about this deal, I was honestly just looking at what value I could possibly get for him. I am totally cool keeping him, and signing Joe Nathan *shrug*

He's making that much money and he's not better than Chris Young, Jackie Bradley Jr, or Brock Holt. Do you see what I'm getting at here?

He's a negative value asset. You'd have to add a good deal of value somehow to get rid of that contract.

I could see Tomas + Delgado as a challenge trade. I could see Kemp+Cashner(assuming he's a rental like I think he is) for Castillo. That might end up awful and counter intuitive though. But I dunno, I really cannot see Rusney being dealt.

If you really put a gun to my head, I think Rusney + a good prospect for Danks+Duke would be okay. Maybe a better deal would be Rusney + Chris Vazquez for Ervin Santana, Tyler Duffey/Trevor May(think Duffey is more realistic), and Kurt Suzuki. I think those last two deals are the absolute best I can think of. Either you get something okay back, or you clear the most money possible off the books.

Okay I should have started with that post, I was not really trying to start a whole cluster. Thanks for the response.

I have no problem keeping him, my question was much more if I could get something of decent value (RP) from a team that was in desperate need of an OF that hasn't been seen too much of yet.

So basically he is staying with me. I don't know if he will not make my team, I was just preparing for worst case. As of right now he is my starting LF when OSFM drops.

Probably not possible unless you included established MLBers. Micheal Fulmer would have to go, and even then he's not good enough to be the center of a package for Puig.

I would probably flip JBJ for a good reliever. Giants could use an LF. Strickland.

And I will say no thank you on that, his defense out in center will be the only reason he is in my lineup. I'll more than likely make my Red Sox chise the realistic one, and be in here for my 30-team.

Bradley is the more likely piece to get traded because there won't be many teams who will take on Castillo contract unless he gets better if you are looking for realistic

Which is totally fair, I came in with my post going in a different direction than I meant. If he is doing better in my chise then I will definitely keep him! Was just a back-up trade just in case he doesn't make my team.

What is a possible deal I could make with Milwaukee to get Lucroy to the Jays. Every possible offer they want Stroman in the deal. Anyway to get him without losing Stroman?

                            Also dealing with Milwaukee.

I just started a franchise with them and I'm looking to complete a three year rebuild. My first order of business is dealing Braun. He's a great player but he's counting quite a bit against the cap and wasting time on a non-competitive team. The trade deadline is nearing and I'm looking at a trade with the Rangers. Texas is offering Delino DeShields Jr., Keone Kela and Josh Hamilton.

Hamilton doesn't interest me much but his contract is nothing and he's worth the addition if only to fill the hole in left temporarily and secure the addition of two great youngsters. Thoughts on this deal? Am I getting too much? Am I not getting enough? I'm bias as a Texas fan, so I'm not sure if I were in Texas' shoes that I'd wager my young talent for a 32 year old who only has a couple good years left in the tank. With that said, this moves Desmond to Center and Braun likely goes off in Globe Park on a win-now team.

What would I have to give up to get Gallo?

I'm thinking of trading Castellanos in my Tigers franchise. I like him, think he still has good potential, but I need someone better defensively. He already has four errors for me. And we are in a win-now mode, so we can't wait for his defense to catch up, or his bat to truly develop. Now I would like to get an MLB-ready third baseman to take his place, but don't know who to target. Or what it would take to get them. I'm just hoping for something including Castellsnos
