Every other contender is either set for pitching or unwilling to move for a rental. So it's a tough situation, with Price, Cueto and Hamels all on the market. In other words, buyers market. It's tough for me to pull off entirely realistic trades in context of what happened last year when things aren't lining up the exact same way. I can only think of a couple packages I'd be willing to do.

      1)

      To Blue Jays:

      P David Price

      To Tigers:

      P Jon Harris
      P Matt Boyd
      P Jairo Labourt

      2) After doing Alex Wood trade:

      To Dodgers:

      P David Price

      To Tigers:

      P Alex Wood
      P Joe Wieland
      P Mike Thomas

Not sure if the Cubs would make a move for him yet, as I move through July things might become more clear.

Like someone controlling Miami and taking Miggy back after seeing how unrealistic that trade is today lol

So If I am Detroit and the Dodgers are out of it - what does it take to bring Puig to the Tigers?

You will have to move a young MLB guy, like Castellanos or Norris. And a couple of top prospects not named Fulmer (who is their only top 100 prospect).

If the Rockies are out of it, where could I send CarGo to get the most out of the trade?

I think it would take their top prospect as well.

Depends on how he does it. If he wants to go prospect route it's Fulmer +. If he goes the route I said Norris/Castellanos, I don't think he has to give up Fulmer because Puig is a cancer in the clubhouse and they were willing to move him during this offseason.

I think Norris + Fulmer would be an overpay imo. That could be showing my hometown bias but I dunno. Fulmer was said to be as good as any of the Mets pitchers when they were at the same point in the system. Norris is also projected to be a #2 or a #3 guy. He's shown he's got some stuff already. I really could live without Puig and just roll with Maybin/Gose in CF but a Upton/Puig/JD outfield would be nasty so I had to send out feelers. I also like Puig even though he rubs most people the wrong way. He's only 25 on a cheap contract and still hasn't peaked. He could be a .250 / 15 HR type guy or he could be a .300 / 30 HR type guy. I think it would be a worthwhile investment. Tigers have some undervalued spects like Jimenez/Moya/Machado/Jones/Burrows/Stewart/Hill/Ziomek/Gerber/Turnbull/Shepherd/Voelker/Smith/etc. Most project as B-/C guys. I think they could be thrown into a deal with Norris as the headliner.

Meh, I'm inclined to sort of agree, only because this thread sometimes descends into some straight value-for-value stuff without considering context, etc. Puig is a relative unknown, but if you think the Dodgers are inclined to move him, then for me it depends on his stats since he's so high risk/high reward. If he's playing like a .250/15HR guy, then Norris or Fulmer, but if he's putting up the .300/30HR, you're gonna have to give up a small fortune for him.

Those are probably more fair offers than realistic, if that's what you're going for.

Very true. They'd have to be way way out of the race to do that. I mean, they have plenty of money, but shedding $25MM for 2017 salary to make a push for someone like Strasburg would be worth it.

What would a package for Arenado look like? Obviously starts with judge

I don't usually reply to these but I'd assume Judge, Severino +. Maybe someone like Refsnyder or Mateo as well. Someone follow this up but I think that's a good start.
