Re: MLB 16 Trade Discussion Thread

Currently 3 games back of the Yankees with a month until the all star break. I have already made the deal talked about earlier where I got Josh Hamilton, ChiChi and Rua from the Rangers for Dickey, Tepera and a low c prospect. Now, last thing on my wish list for the deadline was a top of the rotAtion ace. I want to trade this package to get one:

Pompey+Pentcost+Hutchinson or Loup or another similar player.

What SP could fit the bill for this package? I was looking at Teheran (sp.) from the Braves of one of Cleveland's arms. I am drawing blanks on top starters that could be available. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advanced.

If I was you with the Pads, I would continue the blowup and load the farm. The Kimbrel trade was a good start and I'm sure you can get a good amount of prospects by making a few trades. Ross has the most trade value on the team. I would say he would fetch at least 2 good prospects and 1 or 2 lesser prospects.

Doubt you're getting any ace with control with that package, and I believe the only "ace" rental would be Strasburg. Don't think that's enough for him either.

What would it take to get Judge to Colorado
Oakland A's - Seattle Mariners - Detroit Tigers
Pittsburgh Steelers - Green Bay Packers

Judge would be included in any package the Yankees could offer for Arenado, but I'm gonna assume you don't want to part with him.

Fairly, and somewhat realistic (since they're trying to get younger and save money) you could get Judge if you ate one of their big contracts. That would greatly reduce the cost of a straight up Judge prospect swap.

I think that'd be enough for Strasburg. Can only base that on what I've heard though.

Yea that seems pretty close to the Price deal from last year. No problem with that.

So what would be a good package for judge then? Wouldn't mind taking on CC if needed. Don't wanna move CarGo, Nolan, Castro or Brendan Rodgers

You'd be taking on ~50 million of dead money in CC and that would definitely reduce the price. I think McMahon or Dahl would be too much honestly. Probably someone like Raimel Tapia? If the other guys in here think that's not enough it shouldn't take much more, I probably add a high C level prospect.

                          To Jays:

                          P David Price

                          To Tigers:

No, I don't see it. You should just replicate the real trade if you want Price. We already know what works with these teams.

What of value are you willing to trade? You can't say you want the Yankees best prospect and say all your valuable players are off limits...Jon Gray? Trevor Story? Jeff Hoffman? Ryan McMahon? Have to include some value to get value.

I mean in theory, but this is the Yankees. No way they use Judge as bait to get another team to eat CC's walk year. Oakland or Tampa or Pittsburgh, maybe...but not a team like the Yankees.

Tapia and a low B type of arm for Judge? McMahon and a small piece? The Yankees wouldn't deal Judge realistically unless it was for an MLB proven player. That's why I suggested Arenado, as he's pretty much your only fit with NYY.

Those are probably more fair offers than realistic, if that's what you're going for.

Very true. They'd have to be way way out of the race to do that. I mean, they have plenty of money, but shedding $25MM for 2017 salary to make a push for someone like Strasburg would be worth it.
