Re: MLB 16 Trade Discussion Thread

I'm in the first off season and thinking about trading for Josh Hamilton. I know IRL he has no value but in my franchise, in 83 games, he hit .294/.366/.452 with 7 home runs and 31/75 walks to strikeouts. I'm the Red Sox and don't have room for Brian Johnson( had a 3.5 ERA in AAA). Would a Hamilton for Johnson trade be fair value for both sides?

I picked him up in my last franchise as an add to get a better prospect. He ended up starting in LF due to injuries with my Blue Jays. Went .219 in the time I had him (from trade deadline) but in the playoffs he was definitely the Best player and helped me win me a World Series! He wouldn't cost much to trade for due to that contract and injury risk.

So should I look elsewhere with Lucroy not wanting to come to a big city?

Sounds good, so would the proposal of Devers + Owens + Swihart work for him and Smith/Peralta? Can give stats for Smith and Peralta, had earlier for the others.

Do the Marlins really have any assets? Their minor leagues are pretty barren at the higher levels. Maybe A.J. Ramos? Martin Prado? Something around Ozuna for Zunino + Paxton?

I don't think they're letting you off the Benintendi/Espinoza hook. I can't fathom the Red Sox landing Lucroy without including at least one of them.

Didn't think so, Devers I view on the same area as Benintendi so losing either one is fine. Benintendi, Johnson, Swihart?

Yeah that's the problem, not many trade chips to offer. Stone Garrett and Jose Urena comes to mind but it's a barren system like you said. Like the idea of going Ozuna for Zunino+Paxton since the Marlins are lacking SP depth.

Would love to unload Prado but there's really no space for him at 2nd (Cano) or 3B (Seager). Would have to play LF then but I guess that's passable

He's a cost-controlled, good defensive catcher with 25 HR upside. Not too many of those. Also, since he'd be the one acquired here, there's nothing saying he will strike out 35% of the time user-controlled. The biggest detriment to his value is an inability to make contact on a regular basis.

I don't think Urena has much value..and he's been converted to RP it looks like.

I know the Mariners were linked to Ozuna last season although Miami has come out and said he's not going anywhere. I think I traded Ozuna to Seattle in my Marlins chise last year. For Paxton and Chris Taylor I think.

Maybe swap Realmuto for Zunino? That would probably be a pretty even swap. Both are good defensively. Realmuto is more athletic and versatile, but Zunino has more power to tap into.

Justin Bour is a player that Seattle would probably be interested in, although they have Lind already and what would you do at 1B without Bour?

                      Mike Dunn?

Hechavarria is probably an overpay and they have Marte.

As far as guys that are far away from the majors, you have Garrett, Naylor, and Kolek. Closer to the bigs are guys like Jarlin Garcia, Kendry Flores, Justin Nicolino, and Nick Wittgren. Could probably scrape something together.

Doing an Indians Dynasty, using the latest OS Rosters w Farm Teams.

Looking to unload Carlos Santana and possibly Josh Tomlin. Who are some realistic targets to bolster my 3B and/or Farm Bullpen?

Edit: I should mention I am 23-31 with an injured Brantley (shoulder ligament tear, season have Naquin in Left) and Kipnis (season ACL with Juan Uribe at second) and Gio Urshela has regressed big time. My pitching staff has Aiken in the AAA posting a 1.59 ERA, so if I call him up along with some of the other prospects doing well, I need a contingency plan outside the draft.

Santana feels like a good an AL team where he could DH and play some 1B. Seattle?

Tomlin to SF as their no 5?

What is up again guys! So if you are watching my franchise on the dynasty page you will know exactly why I am here and that is because last game Brian Dozier broke his arm and will be out 2-3 months which is a huge blow to my team as he was hitting very well and playing gold glove defense. In the aftermath I called up prospect Jorge Polanco but he is not ready for the pros yet and I am looking for some middle infield help to soften the blow. As of right now I have not decided who I will start against Righties but lefties it will be Escobar but that hurts my depth because i start him at SS against lefties and move Nunez to the bench. I was just looking around for a cheap middle infield guy i could get to hold down 2B for about 2 months until Dozier is back. I looked at Marwin Gonzales and he is on the block but the Astros are in first place in the West and I don't want to take a key piece of their bench even though he is on the block. Another thing I could do is deal for Juan Lagares (I almost did a month back) and then be able to use Danny Santana at 2B full time even though his defense is complete crap. ANy thoughts on other cheap infielders I could get for a C or B prospect?

Gonzalez is a very good option as he plays the entire infield. Just compensate Houston properly and I don't see any problem with that
