Need a replacement at catcher in my Tigers franchise. Looking for a rental that can replace James McCann for at least 2016. Would this trade work?

Tigers get: Jonathan Lucroy

Brewers get: SP Matt Boyd, CF Anthony Gose, SP Beau Burrows

Keep in mind that Lucroy is hitting .220 and his attributes are declining fast in late June.

Keep in mind that Lucroy is hitting .220 and his attributes are declining fast in late June.

Terrible package for lucroy. Scrap for one of the best commodities in baseball right now in terms of value and contract. And if we need to keep in mind his bad average and declining attributes for us to lean in your favor, why would you want him with his average and declining attributes?

I mean the CPU would've accepted that deal but I didn't think it was enough either. How about Gose/Boyd, RP Joe Jimenez (B Potential), and SP Burrows (B Potential)?

The reason why I would want him with his declining stats is that he won't command as much of a return on the trade market. Brewers certainly wouldn't get as good of a package as they would IRL if he's hitting .220 and will be a free agent next season.

CPU logic is crap. Never go by that. And still no. Tigers don't have the prospects to make a lucroy trade happen

Nobody is going to take scrap pieces. Gose got suspended in AAA and demoted to AA and Boyd is no more than a AAAA starter.

This isn't real life... Gose was hitting .350 before going on the DL in my franchise and actually has some upside. If you're the White Sox who are in last place, why wouldn't you get what you could for a struggling catcher in a contract year? It's not like he's gonna get them a great package.

1B Ronald Guzman 63 OVR/C/21y
2B Andy Ibanez 61 OVR/B/23y

Chirinos and Holoday are gone for multiple months as of late June. Lucroy isn't doing too hot and the asking price was high, same case with Derek Norris. Alex Avila was actually doing well in a split role and they're 4th in a division with the Indians rolling and the AL West and East duking it out for a wild card spot. Both sides pitching being leaps ands bounds better than the Sox. Rangers are 1/2 games out of first to the Mariners.

well the brewers also wouldnt trade him at that point either. you probably have to give up fulmer or something close.

They were talking Law's ranks and he has Berrios #24 not #16 but surplus value wise they are in the same range (pitcher ranked #11-25)

If he isnt pitching as well (Pomeranz) maybe drop down to Kohl Stewart but you probably need to add a second piece that is semi-interesting

I was thinking Tyler Jay has he is a higher value but I could do Stewart. I don't even know if I will go after him as I need a catcher badly.

I finally settled into my first real dive in franchise mode. Currently in mid-May and have made a flurry of trades since the start. Let me know what you all think of my moves. I am the Braves, and my goal was to get younger, clear some cap so that I could retain some of these guys/make big signings in the off-season, and give my top prospects some MLB playing time.

1. Baez is not getting traded unless it's for a piece that can help the team immediately.

2. You hardly, if ever, see prospect swaps. In addition the Rays farm is already pretty stacked with arms, it would not make sense to bring on another one and lose one of your top hitting prospects.

3. Olivera is not going anywhere with that contract. Especially to a team as wise as the Cardinals.
