I need a little help. I want one or two of Dillon Tate/Luis Ortiz/Matuella from the Rangers. I have Cashner and Norris to give to them. Do you guys think a package of all both is enough for Tate or will I have to settle for Ortiz or Matuella? Maybe Mendez? Maybe even Profar?

Re: MLB 16 Trade Discussion Thread
The other point is that nobody wants to help someone who isn't invested in their franchise. You ask about 17 different trades (exaggerating a bit, lol), but haven't even played a single game. What if you wake up tomorrow and want to re-start as a different team? That makes everyone's work and advice go to waste. That's why I usually don't answer early season/trade everybody type of posts. It's far too common for those players to lose interest and re-start. I like helping people out that are already invested in playing out their franchise, not just in seeing who they can swap for who on any given day.
Fantasy draft is better for people who just want to use a variety of different players.Follow my Twins franchise http://www.operationsports.com/Tmizzle/dynasty/Comment

Re: MLB 16 Trade Discussion Thread
Thanks for helping with the White sox trade
1. how is Valencia playing. Either way I don't see Hayes as the answer. I could see Harold Ramirez, Kevin Newman and Nick Kingham among players who could be traded. Let me know how he is playing and I will let you know.
2. Playing like that, I don't see hill getting traded. I feel like Toronto could for sure find a better option. Let me know what other teams could trade starters and how bad Toronto needs one.
3. If Ray is playing good then that's perfect.
4. Maybe Ynoa and Beccera for Cozart and a c level prospect. It's doable, but I feel like it's a slight overpay so maybe someone slightly less than Ynoa. If it was the Yankees, then Refsnyder and a pitching prospect that's not Kaprielian. I really like that trade, however it might be a slight underpay. If it's the Giants, then Shaw and Crick would be a great package. The Giants trade package is probably the most realistic, followed by the Yankees and the Mets.
Hill really isn't pitching that badly....He's got a good K-rate and his FIP is a full run lower than his ERA. Plus he would be an upgrade over either Marco Estrada or RA Dickey who are both struggling.
If not...Cashner, Hellickson, and Ervin Santana are other pitchers they could add.
Thanks for input on other trades
Russell has locked in SS, Rizzo 1st, and Bryant 3rd (or OF). Baez is primed to take 2B after zobrist but with Ben on a 4-5 year deal and a decent overall, what am I to do with Baez? Soler and Schwarber are the left duo & next season I'll likely have them platoon left and Schwarber catch with Contreras and let Miggy walk. Which leaves me with potentially dealing Montero before the deadline to get something out of him, thoughts? Fowler is a beast at center and has to stay till he's up there in age. Heyward in right is okay...but I feel like the Cubs have invested in him and wouldn't deal him any time soon...the guy is in his mid twenties.
Pitching wise old man Lackey is a problem. He's got almost a 5 ERA and just cannot keep hitters off base. Hammel and Hendricks are chucking well enough to stay on the mound, but Warren is highly deserving a spot. With Lackey being way up there in age and on a larger contract, is there any realistic chance to move him?
Montero probably won't get you much more than a little salary relief
Lackey isn't going anywhere. Give him a little longer to try and figure things out, and move him to the pen if he's still really strugglingChicago Cubs

Re: MLB 16 Trade Discussion Thread
Need some suggestions in my Cubs franchise...or someone to tell me I'm being too much of an eager beaver. This is a long term franchise to me, not just a one and done season. We know he Cubbies are stacked with talent, but something has me feeling I'm wasting a little talent.

Lackey like some one said won't have much value.
If your looking to make a move, I would look to trading Soler. He has good value, and can bring back something goodComment

I would see Hellickson being traded if he is playing well.

Re: MLB 16 Trade Discussion Thread
What if I add one more prospect for the Rockies? I mean most of their prospects are close enough that they could be competitive next year, and maybe chase a playoff spot in 2018. Odorizzi still has 3 years of arbitration.
That is a lot for the Nats to give up.....but chasing the Mets by 9.5 games and holding on in a tight WC race, they might be willing to do it.
As for your Ross to the Cubs trade....if you want Torres as the centerpiece then you probably can't get Happ. Vogelbach is doable....but hes pretty poor defensively and is probably better off DH-ing in the AL. Candelario/McKinney are probably your best betsComment

Re: MLB 16 Trade Discussion Thread
Looking at potentially getting Cargo in my Mets franchise.
As of the All Star Break he's hitting 310AB .261/.320/.481 with 18 HR, 42RBI, 2.00 WAR and the Rockies are 12 games under .500.
I'm thinking Plawecki, Montero, and Nimmo might be fair. If any one can let me know if that's fair or if I'm not giving up enough that would be appreciated.
I'm also willing to put in Cecchini or Herrera
ThanksComment

Re: MLB 16 Trade Discussion Thread
Alrighty, I was here earlier last month with my Red Sox franchise in which I ended up staying put, and not doing anything. Now finally I am at the trade deadline in my 30-team control franchise, and I have a ton of possibilities. I understand if it doesn't get too many hits, but feedback, and opinions are very, very welcomed!
Catcher Deal:
The Brewers are sellers, the Orioles are out of contention. Lucroy is having a very good walk year: .289/.360/.419 - 3.04 WAR. Then we have Matt Wieters, the other catcher on the market: .284/.340/.410 - 2.45 WAR. Both men have very nice fielding, .997 & .999 respectively. Now we get down to the trades. The Rangers, Dodgers, Marlins, and Rockies (longshot) are the teams interested, and all have the farms to make something happen. Now if Lucroy goes to the Rangers, he will sign a 5-year extension with the deal with everyone knowing that. Wieters is testing the market no matter what.
Trade One:
Rangers Receive:
B Jonathan Lucroy
C Jeremy Jeffress - 11 saves, 1.26 ERA, 1.05 WHIP, .77 WAR, 6.6 K/9, 1.88 BB/9, 2.20 FIP
Brewers Receive:
B Chi Chi Gonzalez - (AAA) 2.66 ERA & 1.05 WHIP
A Dillon Tate - (AA) 3.12 ERA & 1.41 WHIP
B Jurickson Profar - .249/.317/.336 (73 games) - 1.05 WAR
B Keon Kela - 5.17 ERA, 1.36 WHIP, -0.19 WAR, 6.81 K/9, 2.82 BB/9, 5.14 FIP
Trade Two:
Marlins Receive:
Jonathan Lucroy
Brewers Receive:
Tyler Kolek B, 20 years old, Single A
Stone Garrett B, 20 years old, Single A
C Brian Anderson - (AA) .285/.383/.408
Trade One:
Dodgers Receive:
Matt Wieters
Orioles Receive:
B Ross Stripling - (AAA) 2.91 ERA & 1.22 WHIP
C Jordan Paroubeck - (AA) .283/.360/.379
Grandal has been awful, and they are hoping to re-sign Wieters in the offseason to non-tender Grandal, but if they can't retain Matt they have Grandal under contract.
Trade Two:
Rangers Receive:
Matt Wieters
Orioles Receive:
B Luis Ortiz - Single A, no stats
Next up we will go with the Yankees, and their reliever situation. Aroldis Chapman is in his walk year, but has been phenomenal. 0.55 ERA, 1.10 WHIP, 0.68 WAR, 13.22 K/9, 2.76 BB/9, 0.98 FIP. Next we have Andrew Miller, 3.29 ERA, 1.13 WHIP, 0.65 WAR, 11.85 K/9, 1.30 BB/9, 2.56 FIP. Now for teams interested it seems like the Giants, Cardinals, Pirates, and Cubs are the best options. Could see a huge bidding war from the three NLC teams, with the Giants walking away with one of them.
Trades One:
Giants Receive:
Andrew Miller
Yankees Receive:
B Tyler Beede - (AAA) 2.29 ERA & 1.05 WAR
B Lucius Fox - Single A, no stats
Trade Two:
Cardinals Receive:
Andrew Miller/Aroldis Chapman
Yankees Receive:
(For Miller)
B Jack Flaherty - Single A, no stats
B Magneuris Sierra - Single A, no stats
(For Chapman)
B Kolten Wong - 22 AB, .182/.250/.182 (doesn't have a spot on the team any longer, Yankees would shift one of Didi/Castro to 3B...if doesn't make any sense, shoot it down!)
Trade Three:
Pirates Receive:
Andrew Miller/Aroldis Chapman
Yankees Receive:
(For Miller)
B Nick Kingham - (AAA) 4.28 ERA & 1.67 WHIP
B Kevin Newman - (AAA) .274/.338/.326
(For Chapman)
B Reese McGuire - (AA) .248/.316/.350
Trade Four:
Cubs Receive:
Andrew Miller/Aroldis Chapman
Yankees Receive:
(For Miller)
B Jorge Soler - .277/.359/.385 - 1.06 WAR
B Dan Vogelbach - (AAA) .301/.404/.455
(For Chapman)
B Dan Vogelbach
As a dark horse team, the Nationals could make a play for Bentances as well, or one of these two. But not too sure on that one.
Now just running through rebuilding teams in order. Will give teams interested, and players that will likely be dealt.
White Sox:
Nate Jones - 2.65 ERA, 1.38 WHIP, 0.80 WAR, 10.85 K/9, 3.71 BB/9, 2.59 FIP (Cardinals, Pirates, Blue Jays, Rays, Marlins, Nationals)
David Robertson - 2.62 ERA, 1.11 WHIP, 0.83 WAR, 10.75 K/9, 2.10 BB/9, 2.53 FIP (Look above at Nate Jones)
Twins:

Michael Tonkin - 2.16 ERA, 1.13 WHIP, 0.16 WAR, 5.40 K/9, 3.89 BB/9, 4.34 FIP (Cardinals, Pirates, Blue Jays, Rays, Marlins, Nationals)
Fernando Abad - 3.25 ERA, 1.25 WHIP, 0.32 WAR, 8.30 K/9, 2.60 BB/9, 4.17 FIP (Cardinals, Pirates, Blue Jays, Rays, Marlins, Nationals, Mets, Red Sox)
Glen Perkins - 2.89 ERA, 1.18 WHIP, 0.50 WAR, 7.71 K/9, 0.96 BB/9, 2.30 FIP (Cardinals, Pirates, Blue Jays, Rays, Marlins, Nationals, Mets, Red Sox)
Brian Dozier - .281/.368/.468 - 1.09 WAR (Pirates, Dodgers, Marlins)

I don't have any stats to give because I'm trying to come up with some trade ideas to make in my Sox franchise when I start it, but what would it take to get a guy like Sean Doolittle from the A's? Know he's had some injury history but he'd still be good to have shore up the pen with Ziegler & Koji (I play with real life injuries so Smith and Kimbrel are hurt)PSN: lxl_Porta_lxl

Re: MLB 16 Trade Discussion Thread
First off, that is an amazing post. I am always eager to respond to all posts, especially the organized and detailed ones like this. Now, let's begin.
Trade one for the catchers looks the best. In my opinion the Brewers are getting too little. Especially if the Rangers know they are getting a long term catcher. Add in the fact that Jeffress is in the deal as well, and it looks more or less like a trade Lewis Brinson would be included in. That's just my opinion though.
Trade one for Wieters is also looking like the best. I think another prospects could be added on the Dodgers part, but it isn't too far off.
Trade four looks best for the Yankees relievers. Miller for Soler/Vogelbach sounds pretty good to me. I don't see Betances getting traded, nor do I see a fair offer for Chapman.
White Sox: Robertson is more likely to be traded over Jones considering his track record. I could definitely see the Nationals make a run for him.
Twins: I don't see any particular player/team combos that jump out at me. Dozier and Perkins would be most likely to be dealt, just not sure to who.
Braves: I would say the best option would be to package Teheran and Vizcaino to the Dodgers or Red Sox. Either team could create a massive package.
Phillies: Best option here is two package Hellickson and Gomez to any of the teams listed. I see that all of the potential suitors match so you can't go wrong their. My personal favorite would be the Royals.
Reds: I could see the Mets buying low on Bruce if he is still putting up good power numbers.
Dbacks: I don't really know about either of these players being traded. I think they would all believe that there are better options out there, and even if they can't land one of the better ones, it is not worth settling.
Rockies: Mets could also go after Cargo. It really depends on how bad they need the offense. If desperate, go Cargo. But if they wanted to play it smart, they could get Bruce for much cheaper. If the Royals don't make the Phillies trade, they could get whichever of the two (Bruce and Cargo) that are not traded to the Mets. It depends on what the Royals need more, offense or pitching.
Padres: Myers won't be traded. The way that Ross and Cashner are playing, they definitely could be dealt. I could see Ross to the Red Sox and Cashner to the Marlins. Quackenbush could go to the Marlins as well in a Cashner trade.
Glad to help. Make sure to let me know if you need any further help.Check out my dynasty: Rise to the Top: The Coaching Career of Joshua Morgan (NCAA 14)Comment
