Just to add to that. When you trade him to the Braves you should take back literally the worst player on the Braves roster since they signed him for nothing but cash

I don't know how far back you went in the thread but I stated I was doing that with the Braves as well with the Astros with Gourriel.

I think what he meant is don't take a legitimate prospect "D prospect with a good hit tool", just take their worst overall player and then release him. It makes it much more realistic. Just think about it in IRL terms. Why would the Braves give you a prospect for a prospect that THEY SIGNED. Because you are tying to simulate Maitan signing with the Braves.

I stated I was going to do that. Another guy said to get a D prospect and keep him. My plan all along and what I posted was trading him for their lowest rated player with lower potential and then releasing him. I didn't need someone telling me about IRL when I know that lol...but thanks anyway. I'm also doing it with Gourriel. I may sign Gourriel Jr though, haven't fully decided yet.

Also, I'm going to hold off on dealing Suzuki as the Twins put him on trade waivers today. I'm going to wait and see if he gets dealt before I deal
              Him.

You have to wait a year to be able to trade them. In terms of the game you have to wait until the offseason to trade them.

Re: MLB 16 Trade Discussion Thread

So I'm approaching the trade deadline with my Braves and I'll be looking to unload some vets but want to keep things semi realistic. My current trading block is as follows with the teams interested listed for each player. Trying to figure out what to ask for so I'm not trade raping anyone.

Nick Markakis - Mets/Brewers (Note, Markasis is currently batting .321)
Erick Aybar - Nationals/Pirates (just having an average season so far)
Omar Infante - Dodgers/Diamondbacks/Padres (tearing Triple A up)
                  Jim Johnson - Marlins/Padres
                  Gordon Beckham - Astros/Cardinals/Brewers
Jeff Francoeur - Mets/Brewers (Sent him down after making the Matt Kemp trade)

Mets are currently 3 games back in the NL East
Brewers are 10 games back in NL Central
Nats are leading the NL East
Marlins are 3 games back in NL East
                  Pirates are 14 games back
                  Brewers are 10 games back
                  Dodgers are leading NL West
Padres are 1.5 games back in NL West
Astros are 4.5 games back in AL West

Pirates are having issues at SS w/ Jordy Mercer batting sub 200 through the first half, and no real replacement for him that I see.

Dodgers are dealing with an injury bug that is sidelining Justin Turner and Chase Utley (so they have Kendrick starting at 3rd and no real backup for 2B because of that).

Brewers are getting zero production out in right field or at 3B.

Both the Marlins and the Padres could use bullpen help but doesn't look to be a glaring need.

Can't help much without stats. Hitting .321 without other stats, sending a player down, tearing it up in AAA, or having an average season doesn't tell the picture well enough. So I can't help you with packages until you give me a better picture.

As for matches, Mets seem good for Markakis. Ayabar could go to Nats depending on his numbers but I don't think so. Infante could go to Dodgers if his OVR is high enough that the AI would start him over Kendrick. Johnson makes sense to Marlins if he is playing well. I don't see Beckham being a target unless he is playing extremely well. No way anyone wants Francoeur.

I also agree that I need more stats as well before I can go any further with the deals. The Beckham and Francoeur deals are a no go. Markakis is the only real trade bait I even see on the Braves that you are mentioning but hitting over .300 without any stats is pointless. He could go to the Mets but with Conforto, Bruce, Cespedes, De Aza, Lagares and Granderson...I don't see where he fits. If Jim
Johnson is having a good year like he's having in real life in the bullpen (Why stats are important) you could deal him to a playoff team
Needing bullpen help for a prospect but nothing too big. Aybar is nothing but a utility man now at this point in his career as goes for Infante even though I don't know why he's in triple-A but I need stats on both Aybar and Infante.

Re: MLB 16 Trade Discussion Thread

                        Markakis - .321 avg, 4 HR, 23 RBI
Beckham - Mainly a backup at this point since Garcia is doing well. .261 avg with 9 RBIs and 1 HR in around 70 at-bats.
                        Johnson - 31 innings pitched, 3.86 ERA
Francoeur - Not even worth looking at after seeing the stats hes pulling
                        Infante - .289 avg, 6 HR, 34 RBI, 12 doubles, 3 triples in Triple A
                        Aybar - .268 avg, 3 HR, 30 RBIs, 10 doubles, 1 triple

In terms of the Dodgers, Justin Turner (starting 3B) is out for 6 months with a torn achilles which has pushed Kendrick as the starter at 3B instead of the backup at 2B since Chase Utley is out for the year. So as of right now the Dodgers don't have a backup infielder on their MLB roster right now. Kike Hernandez is tearing it up so Infante would only serve as a backup for him and Howie Kendrick since only possible callups are sub 65 ovr players (25+ year old minor leaguers).

Marlins - Entire bullpen has a 4.00 + ERA (except for Hunter Cervenka who was apart of a real life trade which I did who's rocking a 1.54 ERA and has become their lynch pin reliever since being traded).

Mets - Don't really know why they are interested in Markakis to be honest. Nimmo is having an OK season at .260 avg with a few homers and 15 RBIs but they also have Michael Conforto in AAA batting .341 with 18 home runs and 60 RBIs. Cespedes is struggling average wise at .229 but is still sitting at 13 home runs and 30 RBIs closing in on the break. Jay Bruce is batting .302 with 11 home runs and 24 RBIs as well.

Will probably just end up keeping Markakis since both teams interested don't really seem to need them from what I can see and I don't wanna go fishing for trades across the league unless I see something that just makes too much sense. But what would his trade value be if I were to find something.

Unless you find a different suitor for Markakis, then no go for him. Only other deal I could see is Infante to Dodgers for a mid-low C prospect.

I could see Infante going to the Dodgers as he can play multiple positions. You could get a C prospect or possibly a low B prospect in their system. Markakis could go to a playoff team in need of a LF or RF. What teams are in first or close to second in their divisions who need n upgrade at OF?

Another off topic question (sorry), how do you dynasty posters like it? I am considering starting a OOTP 17 dynasty considering how much i like the game and my love for sports writing.

When I use to play 2K baseball I use to blog my season in more forth than I do on here but I love posting my season for people to see. The link to my page for operation sports dynasty is in my signature. I play all my games and don't sim at all. I use to have a website and post my franchise but my job made time an enemy so this page helps make it quick.
