Re: MLB 16 Trade Discussion Thread
Thinking of putting a deadline day trade together to bring Wil Myers back to the Rays, he's been injured for most of the season and the Padres are tanking as expected. I'm planning on offering Jake Odorizzi (3 more years team control) and our top prospect, SS Willy Adames as the center pieces, but I was wondering just how much extra you think I'd need to offer?
They are after a closer and I'm not against letting Alex Colome go (3 years control), or I have other prospects like Bauers and Lowe who's paths to the majors look long and blocked by Souza and Longoria respectively. I think Myers in real life should have 3 more years of arbitration, but the game has robbed him of one as it seems to do with a lot of players so he only has 2 more years.
I know he'd be expensive, but just how expensive?Comment

MLB 16 Trade Discussion Thread
What value would Russell Martin have at the 2017 trade deadline or 2017 offseason? Last year (2016) in all played games he went .226/.255/.397 with 19 HR, 50 RBI, 42 runs in 128 games. This year he dealt with a 2 month injury and is batting .213/.318/.323 with 3 homers and 16 RBI in 41 games at the trade deadline.
He won the Gold Glove at C last year and had a WAR of 0.94 last year with 0.64 thus far this year. He is under contract for the next 3 seasons at 16 mil each year so his price is a negative. He is still a solid defensive, power catcher that would be appealing to another team. I have a nice rookie who is ready to start next year.
Teams interested would be Cleveland, Minnesota, LA Angels, Mariners, Rangers, Braves, Marlins, Phillies, Diamondbacks, Rockies maybe and the Red Sox (but same division).
I am looking for MLB ready or who could be ready by the 2018 season. My initial thought was to Cleveland for Carlos Santana (to offset money) and prospects. It would be Santana, Trey Ball (68B) and Dietrich for Martin, Alex Torres and Junior Lake.
The other deal I was considering was for EE who is hitting .274/.382/.483 with 12 HR and 42 RBI (0.48 war) and under control for 2 years. He would upgrade Houston at DH (White and Rasmus split time there now). I would take back AJ Reed and Jake Marisnick.
Or: EE for Trea Turner and Werth (to balance salary and value since he is doing horrendous).
Thanks!

Re: MLB 16 Trade Discussion Thread
Very early in my new franchise with Seattle, so no point in posting stats, but I can't hit with Lee and don't like that Lind can only play vs RHP+is a free agent at years end. I am not very familiar with Seattle's farm system, but any ideas on what it would take to get Votto from Cincinnati?Comment

Re: MLB 16 Trade Discussion Thread
Alright, my fellow general manager wannabe's. I've got one for you and need to know what you all would think it would take to make this work.
I'm nearing the season's end with my beloved Chicago Cubs and much like in real life, I have a commanding lead in the NL Central. My 88-50 record has me sitting pretty with a 14.5 game lead. However, I'm already thinking about what my off-season will be like.
While I'm likely to lose Fowler to free agency, I'd also like to add a pitcher and probably part ways with Jason Hammel. Although he's had an excellent year for me.
The pitcher I'd really like to acquire is Oakland's Sonny Gray. And let's keep in mind that when talking about trades in The Show everything needs to be based on each user's The Show universe. And in my Show Sonny Gray has had a great year.
Gray is 15-9 with a 2.50 ERA, 160 strikeouts and 53 walks. The 26-year old Gray's contract is up after this year but since he only has a little over 3 years of MLB service time will not be eligible for free agency.
What would it take to get Gray? I've made all the moves that the Cubs have done in real life up to this point, including trading away Gleyber Torres for Chapman and Dan Vogelbach for Mike Montgomery. So those two big prospects are not available as bargaining chips.Comment

Re: MLB 16 Trade Discussion Thread
Talks with Oakland about Gray (if he's pitching that well) probably start with Baez/Soler + Happ/Jimenez. And I think the A's would want one OF and one INF so it would be Baez + Jimenez + decent pitching prospect, or Soler + Happ + pitcher.....thats my opinion at leastChicago Cubs
Michigan Wolverines
Thanks Peyton. #18Comment
