Thats the same with Archer, and honestly Archer would probably cost more than Gray

Is there a pitcher you can think of that I could realistically get for Soler and a prospect or two? Again, Soler hit 24 home runs and drove in 80 in 2016. I can alternate Schwarber and Bryant in left when need be and Soler is definitely sort of the odd man out I terms of who's available for trade. Baez's versatility is too much for me to give up

I was just offered a trade by the Red Sox.

        ATL sends:

        Vizcaino - RP
        Pierzynski - C
Another C rated Prospect. Can't remember who.

        BOS sends:
        Swihart - LF

I think it is a fair deal. The price for closers at the deadline this year was sky high. Thoughts?

Personally I think DD laughs at Atlanta and hangs up the phone. Pierzynski is one of the worst clubhouse guys ever to play the game and the Sox have already tried that out once (it ended with him being DFAed) and they have Koji, Kimbrel, and Carson Smith all for the 7-8-9 innings. They wouldn't really need a closer or reliever because they also now have Matt Barnes and Joe Kelly as hard throwing righties out of the pen. Just my thoughts

Also they have Buckles and Taz.

                All 24HR and 80RBI aren't the same. McCutcheon had 24HR and 79RBI with a .9 WAR. Harper had 24HR 86RBI and a 3.4 WAR. Lucroy had 24HR and 81RBI and a 4.6WAR.

So we need a little more. I mean Matt Kemp went 35HR and 108 RBI with a .8 WAR so clearly cherry picking stats can lead you plenty of places

I'm not a Red Sox guy, but I have to say there's about a 0% chance the Red Sox would do this.

                    Soler's WAR in 2016 was 1.81. Baez's was 2.14. Interesting.

Who would be another good pitcher I could get for a package that includes Soler and some prospects?

Additions thought as I'm going through starting pitchers in the league.

Wild be a blockbuster but what do you guys think it would take to get Chris Sale from the White Sox. He's in the last year of his deal this year (2017) so keep that in mind.

For Soler you're looking at MOR arms not TOR. 1.81 WAR isn't very inspiring. Examples of what could match up are, Iwakuma, Smyly, that level not the #1/#2 type pitchers you have been looking for.

For Sale, you aren't going to be willing to give up what it take. Probably, Baez, Happ, Jimenez and something like Cease. Although they might let you keep Baez and change the package a bit if you included Russell instead.

I have a season going with the blue jays and I can make a straight up deal Donaldson for Machado. Should I do the deal and if so should I add anything or is this fair and square? I don't like Donaldson and Machado is one of my favs.

I also considered playing with the mets and trading Degrom and Wright for Machado.

Wright is a gigantic negative asset. I'm not saying that framework is necessarily bad but most teams will shy away from a player with a degenerative and debilitating neck injury

Yes that's true I was trying to give them the ace they have been missing and a 3rd baseman. Who do you think would be fair to send with Degrom?
