I'm wondering if power swing has something to do with it??? I never use power swing and have not seen this issue.

Do you still see the issue using contact swing?

I have been rarely using contact swing. This bug has already been reported and gotten 9 votes...so it seems others are definitely experiencing this:

Apparently it is tied to Assisted Baserunning or the Default Option...

...but then why aren't more experiencing it? Maybe those options in conjunction with Power Swing?

Yeah its confusing. There doesn't seem to be a distinct trigger for this to happen. I use ASSISTED BASERUNNING and only use Normal or contact swing, as I never use power swing.

We know you're not constantly hitting R1 and R2 shouldn't have any effect as it doesn't do anything in regards to baserunning.

Hopefully a dev can pop into the thread and possibly shed some light or explain the bug and offer a fix.

I remember this issue occurring in games from years past, but as I said, far more infrequently because I rarely used Power Swing; but this year I have been using it so much more, so the issue is more frequent. I can confidently say this has only happened to me on Power Swing hits.

Okay, sounds good. Not to beleaguer the point, but it only seems to happen on Power Swing line drives through the infield. Not Power Swing hits to the outfield. Occasionally I have seen it on Power Swing grounders (the hardest grounders).

I have tested all swing types and it still consistently happens using auto baserunning.

I honestly coach myself hitting R1 when I swing and it happens.

Are you using auto baserunning? I just don't understand why you aren't seeing this while everyone else is?

Most are saying it's happening on sharply hit line drives, could they be auto diving to avoid being doubled off and then the animation just takes to long for them to recover from?

It certainly is a possibility but the thing is I played last night and didn't notice any runners diving back to the base when hitting a line drive through the infield. The only difference between what I'm seeing and the OP is seeing is that he is using Power Swing which I am not.

Last night it happened to me on a grounder that bounced halfway to the pitcher. It skipped past him into CF and my runner was thrown out by a mile at 2B.

It may not necessarily be Power Swing that's causing it; it may be more tied to the Hit Speed. In other words, by using Power Swing I am able to hit the line drives harder (in terms of Hit Speed), and perhaps a certain Hit Speed line drive through the infield is causing the dive backs...
