Last night was manual, I've had it happen on auto baserunning too though.

I see it when I play but it's user error as I know sometimes I will hit the R1 or R2 trigger and send my runners back. All you have to do is tap it and they will dive back. Don't know if it's tied into power swing cause I use normal and power and had it happen. Be more careful around the R1 -R2 button and see if you notice yourself hitting them ever so softly. But then again it could be a bug, hope that helps.

It happens with auto baserunning, so I never have a reason to hit R1/R2. Also, that's not how I hold my controller.

Re: Baserunners Diving Back on Line Drive Hits (Glitch or User Error?)

I have played 3 games since trying to replicate this and I haven't been able to do so successfully. I have used power swing and hit lines drives through the infield but haven't seen the runners dive back.

Nemesis brought up a good point in the thread and its something that I use, but are you using AUTO sliding? I control mine manual.

That is the only other difference I can think about that might be causing this.

So how exactly does auto/manual slides work? I use auto, does manual mean a baserunner will never slide unless I make him or is it that I simply have control of how he slides if I so choose?

On auto slides the CPU does all the sliding for you. The other option is "assisted" where the CPU may slide for you in appropriate situations if you do not input a command.

Thanks again for looking into this; I haven't been able to play the past couple of days because of the dreaded server meltdown, so I haven't been able to test. I'll look into what sliding setting I'm using, too, as I can't remember off the top of my head. Probably whatever the default option is.

I am going to be focusing on using Power Swing with my right hand fingers securing under the controller, and off the R1/R2 buttons to see if that eliminates the issue.

Count me in the camp that has seen this happen several times.

I use manual base running, assisted sliding and never use power swing.

Ditto for me on the settings and regular swing (X button), and it just happened to me for the first time today.

Line drive in the hole between 1st baseman and 2nd baseman, both the runner on 1st and on 2nd dove back to the bag and my runner on first got thrown out at second before he could recover and run there. This was in conquest mode. I haven't seen it in franchise or RttS yet.

                          Two questions:

                          1) Are you using auto baserunning?

                          2) are you using auto sliding?

                            Conquest doesn't allow auto baserunning.
