In regards to weather, rain delays would be great. Even better, download real-world weather via a new weather engine. This would then implement of games would get called off or not. Takes the realism to the max. I'm not sure if year to year saves import the actual players model or SCEA models, but I would hope it would actually be the real players model for the following year and further on. I still have not uploaded a year to year save franchise so I wouldn't know. Add an option to argue close calls which would change momentum and fire up a home crowd. Player collisions during outfield plays and etc. All Star game jerseys. Yes, we need this. I think it's time to actually implement actual team jerseys in the all star game. I'm sure there could be a way to do this. It makes the all star game realistic and come to life. I also still love the fact that you can play CPU vs CPU games as an option, even if your team is eliminated. Real nice feature. I agree on having a better news feature menu with breaking news or Twitter feeds. I like how Madden did it this year. Something that stands out. I do like the scores and standings how they get highlighted throughout the league. Maybe just add more to it I guess. I mean I can't say anything else bad about the game. San Diego studios has done a fantastic job every year to make the game presentation as realistic as it can be. As a sim gamer, I love how they have brought this game to as real as it can be. I'm optimistic it will be getting better. Just don't take away all the small things that matter to us. San Diego Studios have been doing great on this franchise. Keep up the great work!

Re: MLB 17 Feature Wishes?
For example, a player with low PVis would be terrible with contact swing. If he has high Power, he would be better with power swing.
Or if the ratings signified a "hitter type" that would alter what the square, X and O buttons do.
So for Chris Carter (for example) - X = Normal Power swing, Square = I'm trying to hit it 500 feet. O = Normal X swing. I.e. he wouldn't have a "contact swing" at all, effectively.
Ichiro types: X = Contact Swing, Square = Normal Swing, O = just flick the bat at the ball trying to make contact at all costs.
Guys with no "type" (all-around players, guys with no standing out ratings) would be as what we have now, Square = more power, less contact, X = normal, level swing, O = more contact, less power.
Big game pitcher, they're overall stats can be low, but in important games they can pitch like your ace.
Choker. Puig, they're stars become significantly less during big game situations or series.
I just feel these would add to the whole element of franchise mode significantly
My only concern would be: how are they gained/lost? What would get a mediocre pitcher Big Game Pitcher as a trait, for example.
This would be key especially for franchise and carryovers. If these traits are "powerful", it could significantly change guys around. That's not bad, per se, but it would be nice to know how/why guys got them or didn't or gained them/lost them."Some people call it butterflies, but to him, it probably feels like pterodactyls in his stomach." --Plesac in MLB18Comment

Re: MLB 17 Feature Wishes?
Contract negotiations and the Morale System. There two bugs here that need to be fixed:- If I sign a player, the role that I pitch that player for (i.e. star, bench, etc) should be their new "expected" in their morale system. Currently, they keep whatever expected they had previously and are unhappy with any different role. If they accept my contract with a different role, that should be their new expectation. This cuts both ways; I can promise every FA the expectation of "star" to save cash and simply not deliver with zero repercussions for me.
- Similar to above, the dollar amount I sign a player for should be their new expected in the morale system. Or at the very least it should average with what their expected was (if it was higher) to bring their new expected dollar value closer to what they signed for. [edit: On second thought, I think the later solution (averaging) would be better than just making it their new expected]
Both of theses bugs really factor into player happiness when building a franchise for the long term.
Locations in the player morale system need help. Most locations work OK, but some don't at all. I recall a player from Ohio who was playing for the Pirates wanting to be "close to home" as their expectation, yet they were unhappy. That makes no sense, Pittsburg is like an 1.5 hours from Ohio. Similarly, any player from PA, MD or VA should be "ecstatic" when playing for the Nationals, yet they are not in the game currently (they are simply "satisfied"). Playing as the nationals, it is basically impossible to use location as a morale boost (the DoC has a pop of 650k; there are no MLB players coming from the actual DoC, they all come from MD or VA).
Overall it seems like some algorithm was devised to determine proximity that is simply not working. I suggest having someone intelligent going in and entering a morale entry (i.e. ecstatic, happy, etc) for each of the states with an MLB team, for each of the 50 states in the USA (i.e. if location value = "Ohio" and: birthplace value = "AK", morale value = "unhappy"; birthplace value = "AL", morale value = "satisfied", etc. etc.) Really wouldn't take long and would fix the problem of the algorithm screwing up.Last edited by andybill; 08-30-2016, 12:30 PM.Comment

Re: MLB 17 Feature Wishes?
A lot of my list I've found from others in this thread and am just echoing.
First and foremost I think fielding needs the biggest amount of attention for 2017. We've talked about the lack of urgency, the struggles to get guys to charge balls, being caught in animations, how quick the catcher hops out of his crouch, the way momentum sometimes gets horribly exagerrated (often with a pitcher fielding a bunt/short hit), etc. I think fielding is by far the biggest issue needing to be addressed.
Second on gameplay is ball physics. I think the ball holds up in the air for too long, limiting the number of gap linedrives, cutting down on bloop hits, and causing me to need to reduce the fielder speed slider, which in turn causes triples (or even inside the park HRs) when they should be doubles due to slowness chasing the ball. Would love to see a bit of a revamp on how hits are coming off the bat and how long they stay in the air.
On the more cosmetic level:
1. allow user to tinker with windup/arm slot/stance to get a hitter out of a slump. It could even be random if it works or if the hitter takes a huge penalty and has to return to the previous version. A better hitting or pitching coach can up the chances of the tinkering working. And in the minors, tinkering could bump up potential on young players or reduce it.
2. collisions. haven't had two fielders collide yet. Nor a baserunner and a fielder.
3. more emotions. I have ejections on, but I'm not seeing them. I want to see bickering with the ump, managers getting upset, arguments with and without ejections. Players snapping a bat when striking out in a key situation, etc.
4. Rainouts and doubleheaders. Make teams have to strategize in franchise mode. Call up an extra pitcher, plan for the bullpen, etc.
5. Create a stadium
6. Be able to cancel retirements or manually retire a player. No reason WE shouldn't be in control of retirements if we disagree with the AI/randomness
7. Full editing of players. beard and hair should be able to be edited even on "real players." Guys change styles.
8. Creat your own draft class which of course can be shared. Allow for editing of draft classes in case you want to create a bust draft class or a bumper crop of talent one year. Also larger draft classes. I know this would require upping the 90 person per team limit, but real baseball has multiple levels of A ball and rookie leagues. Draft should be 20 rounds or more
9. Add a screen for tracking hitting streaks, scoreless inning streaks, consecutive games with HRs, etc. Also be able to toggle to a career milestone screen where you can see which player is headed for a career milestone. If possible have announcers make sure they announce milestones for everyone. They might not be able to say the name of a created/generated player but they could simply say after a hit, "That's number 1000 for him today. Congratulations!" or something to that effect.
10. With contracts/trades add in a no trade clause option and even a limited one (like LuCroy having 8 teams he could veto). Allow for 3 team trades, more than 3 players to be traded at once, and cash to be sent. Allow for teams to offer to pick up part of the salary to facilitate a deal.
11. Catcher visit to mound. Just like a manager visit maybe this gives a slight bump for the pitcher or maybe it irritates him or messes up his rythmn. Just something to add some realism.
12. Real minor league stadiums.
13. Ads. I've never understood why Comerica Park has the "Admiral Motors" fountain. What is the reason it can't be GM? They may even pay a touch for it.
14. Bring back the front office mode where you set ticket prices, concessions, etc. Make it optional of course but some of us enjoyed that.
15. Winter ball.
16. Revamp ASG voting to be more realistic. Fans vote stars for the most part with some respect to big first halfs. Have the voting reflect that. And an ASG selection show would be neat for the starters, then the reserves picked players and manager. Could even have the final man voting with five options.
17. Hidden potential for guys not on your team. You have to send scouts to unlock their potential. Limited number of scouts of course to make you have to choose where to put your resources.
18. Pitcher energy revamp. Have pitchers slowly "lose it" most games as the pitch count increases and the number of stressful pitches increases. However you can also have games where a pitcher simply has it and at pitch 90 is just as sharp as at pitch 10. Pitchers who can go deep into games and throw 120 pitches easily like Verlander would have less penalty for high pitch counts than a rookie who hasn't developed their stamina
These are great!
Just adding a couple
OF- (especially LF), running down a line drive they always seem to slightly overrun and catch the ball off to the side (at times when they are right in front of it)
Catchers coming out of the crouch position and fielding a looping popup or bunt attempt too quickly.
Ability to edit existing contracts
Importing updated rosters into current franchise
all time lists on stat rollovers during game (if they pertain to anyone playing)
Injuries - More consistent and realistic. A guy is running to 1st, .2 seconds later "oh uh..this doesn't look good", as he's grabbing his arm. Fast forward, you've just hit your 3rd line drive off the pitchers mouth hole and he's in the game still.Comment

Re: MLB 17 Feature Wishes?
1. Expose the "+" difficulty levels. I would love to set my hitting difficulty level to "Veteran +" without using Dynamic Difficulty. I can handle Veteran but All-Star is a bit much for me at the moment.
2. A companion app for my phone/tablet .. where I can noodle with lineups, trades, league info, DD squad and market when I'm not at home.
3. Carry over previous year (MLB 15) Dynamic Difficulty. Kinda lame starting over at Rookie and building it back up. The first month of my year-to-year-saved franchise was a cake walk.Comment

Re: MLB 17 Feature Wishes?
The hitting to defense engine needs to be rebuilt. I can’t prove it, and obviously stuff happens, but man, the calculation for hit/ out seems to be pre determined based on my babip on screaming line drives. I think this comes down to what people have been saying about defense and ball physics, which both should be fixed.
Really and truly, the game looks old. The engine just doesn’t look like something made in 2016 (and it isn’t). They’ve applied new coats of paint for a lot of years now. But we’re three plus years into the console cycle, and honestly, bordering on getting cheated out of our money not only for the game but for those of us who bought a ps4 basically for this game, the console as well. Because honestly, why would I buy the same game again? If a lot of these items aren’t corrected right, and not the “we fixed that for you by over correcting the code that makes it happen”, because that’s treating the symptom and not the disease, then I don’t see the point, especially since I’ll probably just play franchise anyway.
Oh and Money99, i cannot echo 2k analog pitching enough. 2k has the best sports controls I’ve ever used across all games ever. Anyone that hasn’t used them, seriously, you need to.

Re: MLB 17 Feature Wishes?
Does hoping the Vita version comes back count? Other than that my main ones have mostly been covered. Two I can think of are being able to edit coaches and managers, even if it is just their numbers, and being able to import players into existing franchises.

Re: MLB 17 Feature Wishes?
I would love to see a different presentation package for Spring Training games.
Pitcher v Batter matchup history would be good, so I can tell how my team has done against a particular pitcher in the past.
A bit like 2K baseball, I'd like the catcher to move his glove to the spot where I need to aim as opposed to having the cursor appear.
And in franchise mode I'd love to see a bit more added to the radio show, maybe some trade speculation, injury reporting and other background stuff. Realtime though, not scripted so you hear it again and again. Also, replace the 'real' Twitter feed in a players profile to a fake on generated in relation to what is happening in my game. I don't need to check his profile and see what he thinks about his performance last night when in my franchise he's on the DL.Comment

Re: MLB 17 Feature Wishes?
I'm not sure if this was said as I did not ready every page of this thread but I would really like to see an expansion option in franchise mode. You should be able to create a team from the ground up, from uniforms and stadium to teams names and uniforms. You could have an expansion draft like they do in real life with the cpu protecting a certain amount of players and then you have your pick from the remaining players. You would have to have two teams to even out the scheduling. It would be really great for those who just like to build up struggling franchises.Comment

Re: MLB 17 Feature Wishes?
This is not a feature but I wish OOTP could team up with the Show to create the best baseball game ever known to man . It wont happen and its only a pipedream but it has a better chance than the Show ever appearing on xbox . That would be my second wish . My third wish is for three more wishes .OSFM23 - Building Better Baseball - OSFM23

Re: MLB 17 Feature Wishes?
Hi it's been awhile. I would like to see these in a classic feature :
1... new player models
2... the classic old baggy uniforms
3... I love the old uniforms with the cut-off sleeves at the shoulders like the redlegs and the Indians used to have.
4... the size of the helmets can be way out of proportion some are huge it's very distracting give us an option no helmets just a baseball hats
5... Add sleeves that are baggie and the length is just above the rist
6... you could have the old style cleats that were semi gloss that have a long tongue that would fold back towards the front of the shoe.
7... add more control of the body types some guys have a California beach body strong upstairs smaller legs and butt some have a Babe Ruth body just more options would be great.
8... five o'clock shadow beard.
9... more control of the puffy part between the eyebrow and the upper eyelid to be able to bring the puffy part up over the eyeball thinking about Stan the Man Musial eyes...
10... the heads of the children in the stands are way too small in proportion to their body children always have proportionately bigger heads to their bodies.
11.. the 1955 Brooklyn Dodgers uniforms in all their baggyness Glory...Last edited by Scooter3; 09-05-2016, 05:35 PM."a mean motor scooter and a bad go getter"

Re: MLB 17 Feature Wishes?
Add the ability to make spring training games "night games".
I like to play my ST games at all of the historic/minor league parks and the ability to have night games would help the "batters eye" tremendously. Forbes field with the Dogwoods in the background on an overcast day is brutal.
The addition of Tiger Stadium to the classic stadiums would be fantastic, it had a lot of character.
Gameplay needs to be improved, stats, franchise mode upgrades.
Some minor things like wall dimensions being correctly labeled.
I think the graphics are great, just need to work on the overall gameplay.Comment
