Re: How to Set Up 30 Team Control

I'm glad i came across this thread. I haven't played a baseball game since the 90's. Now that i know this game has 30 team control, i may look into getting it.

Once you set 30-Team control can you disable it if needed or wanted or not?

No I don't believe you can

Re: How to Set Up 30 Team Control

I have always played single team franchise. Are there any downsides to 30-team control?

I like the idea of it so I can veto a dumb trade by reversing it, and see other teams managers, etc. But if you're only really controlling one team, are they any things different besides maybe not being able to be fired?

There aren't. You can allow the other teams to operate the same as if they were under full CPU control.

Cool thanks. I'm mad I haven't done this a long time ago. I don't really care about GM firing anyways. I would rather have some say on how the league takes shape over the course of my Franchise. I don't necessarily want to control it all. But if I see a horrible trade or some bad logic, it would be nice to step in and fix it, so the immersion factor stays at a high level.

It has definitely increased immersion in my franchise. I go overboard and control everything (trades and Free Agency) which is extremely tedious, but fun. I know exactly what every team needs and their strengths and weaknesses. There's still some variety in FA as I never am sure where a guy will sign when there are multiple offers. Makes for a lot of fun

Re: How to Set Up 30 Team Control

This seems to have changed for MLB 17. I have 2 profiles, and I've set the team I'm using to one profile, and set the other 29 teams to the other. However, the teams do not follow the profile they are on. What I mean is, if I set my team to "Auto" for the roster/lineup/DL/etc controls, the other 29 teams change also. If I change the other teams, so does mine. Am I forgetting something from MLB 16, or is this an actual problem?

Edit for note: I am using a carryover franchise from MLB 16

Thanks for any help you all can provide.

I'm noticing the exact same thing. The settings in the Set Team Association screen seem separate from the square button auto/manual changes.

I think what is happening is it is showing the settings for the default profile for all teams, HOWEVER, the other teams are still following the settings on their assigned profile.

I tested this with the injury managemwnt setting. With it set to MLB ONLY, i was getting notified each time a "cpu" profile team had an injury, but I had to make DL moves for them. When I switched that profile to AUTO, they were putting injured players on the DL. so i think it is just cosmetic, and working properly.

I hope you are right. The only way I've been able to avoid all notices for the other 29 teams is to set my team (in the cosmetic sense) to "auto". So far, the computer hasn't messed with my lineups or rosters, so you could be right about that.

BUT, and it's a very big but, I have discovered another problem. I have played the 2016 and 2017 seasons, and am 2 months in to 2018. When I look at my "GM Goals", it's as if 2016 does not exist. It shows what happened in 2016 under the 2017 line, and it tells me that I lost in the division series in 2018, a season that I am still playing. I worry when the season ends there will be some kind of crash and I will have wasted a colossal amount of time.

In 16 we have the same thing; it tells me I think what the results were for 2017 and 2018 even though I'm about to start the 2017 season. It did not crash when I completed my last season, but that was the 2016 game.

This may already have been covered and if so, I apologize. Last year I remember somebody making a diagram or google doc for manual injuries. It had what players were hurt, what day in your franchise to give them the injury, what injury to give them and how many days to make them out for. It was extremely helpful and I'm wondering if anyone has already done or will be doing the same this year? It tracked injuries from the beginning of spring training until Opening Day so that rosters were 100% accurate. Would love if this could be a thing again and would be willing to help. Thanks.

Huge fan of the franchise mode but have never done a 30 team controlled version. Would someone be able to provide a pros and cons list of setting up a 30 team control franchise? Why do you do it? Thanks in advance!
