Unless they have removed the option, you can disable his commentary.

This post is an absolute embarrassment.

You don't like Harold Reynolds -- fine. But to bring up the sexual harassment case (that he was completely and totally exonerated from), without giving the full facts, you might as well rename yourself 'CNN' on this board, because you're about as accurate at giving news facts.

First off, its been years since that case and I don't remember every specific detail, but to understand the Harold Reynolds case and his innocence, is to understand ESPN as an organization itself. In 2006, Reynolds was 'suddenly' fired, and blindsided by his firing, because a fellow female employee made an alleged complaint that he had been inappropriate with her. ESPN instantly fired him, not because they had found evidence to support her claims, but because ESPN is owned by Disney, and feared any sort of scandal or fallout.

Had they WAITED and provided Reynolds with due process, they would've discovered the claims were in fact at the least FALSE and at most were a simple misunderstanding.

ESPN, left with egg on their face, publicly distanced themselves from this disaster, after a knee jerk decision to fire him before the investigation or all sides had even been heard, much similar to how they handled Jay Mariotti, a long-time lead guest on Around The Horn, when he and his wife were going through a divorce, it got nasty, she had him arrested for 'allegedly' attacking her physically. ESPN immediately fired him, only to discover later that the incident was made up, and Mariotti was found innocent of the claims.

Did Mariotti get his old post back at ATH? Did he get an apology, and his points back on their fake *** board on the lame *** show? Nope, ESPN buried the man and just pretended that he didn't exist ever in the history of the show, because to acknowledge him would be to acknowledge how they fubar'ed his tenure with the show.

Nope. But his charges were later dropped, even after he was sentenced. Did he get his job back. Nope. Did they issue an editor's apology for misrepresenting the facts? Nope.

Reynolds? Reynolds was so 'not guilty', he then had to sue ESPN to get his backpay back that they owed him. ESPN wanted to avoid any further embarrassment of how they handled the situation settled the case, rumored for seven figures for Reynolds for duress, backpay, libel, and a bunch of other stuff.

Do you really think Reynolds would be employed by MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL and MLB NETWORK today, if he were guilty of doing this, and how public it was in 2006? Hell, it was front page news on The Smoking Gun for months.

To understand Reynolds, is to understand ESPN as an organization. ESPN caused the Reynolds problem, because Disney and other parent corporations are absolutely TERRIFIED at losing advertising revenue, and if firing Reynolds or Mariotti or anyone else without having a nanosecond to explain themselves is how corporations work.

We live in a day an age where people just drop 'headlines' or 'clickbait' to get views, regardless of whether it provides news or all sides of an argument. If you've read this post this far, I thank you, it's nothing more than a counter to Harold Reynolds, not because I feel he needs defending, but more because I do not like or support how ESPN runs their operation, and has absolutely NO loyalty to their employees, no matter how long-tenured, or whether there's PROOF of what happened.

ESPN has had a reputation for YEARS of doing this to employees, and Reynolds was a victim of this.

I like Harold Reynolds and think he will bring a lot to keep the audio fresh. He knows baseball, he played baseball, and It's Harold Reynolds we are talking about not Steve Phillips, after all.

Lets see if we can't steer this thing back on the tracks here.

I'm really looking forward to the Stream tomorrow to hear more and see more of the new commentary and presentation. Also curious to see what the other themes entail.

Looks awesome. I hope there is a lot of diversity in the content. It would be huge if eventually they could get fox broadcasts in the game for the playoffs. It would be hard to get fox, but it would add an authenticity to the game that would be much welcomed. Joe Buck has grown on me in the past few years because he seems like he actually gets excited during the game. I think a Madden-type broadcast would also be cool. Maybe update it every other week because it would be very hard to do every week due to the long season. Can't wait for the game. Already preordered the hall of fame edition!

As for The Show, I am in love with this new MLB Network presentation and the new color men in the booth. I can't wait to hear how they turn out. I like Reynolds and Dan Plesac is a bit of a cornball, but he makes good points.

One thing I would love to see is for them to drop the "Theme 1," "Theme 2" thing they got going on and just create fake networks and have them each have their unique overlays and music. For example, re-name Theme 1 to "TSSN - The Show Sports Network" and have the TSSN logo on the scorebug and on the ticker, replay graphics, presentation pieces, etc. Then create another fake network for Theme 2 and Theme 3. I think this would add a lot to the presentation instead of having all the generic themes just having the MLB The Show 17 Logo.

This is a great idea and something that needs to be implemented next year

I just hope the presentation this year helps relay the excitement and importance of some intense moments during my franchise. I want the broadcast team to be pumped for that game tying homerun in the 8th. I want the crowd to go crazy for a walkoff homerun in the 9th. I want pressure situations to feel more tense than just the controller vibrating.

Even if I mute him, I won't be able to get around the fact that one of the worst color commentators in all of baseball was selected to be put in the only MLB video game on the market. Guy was taken off the World Series broadcasts for a reason. He's that bad.

                                Just a tremendously poor decision.

See you guys in a few years when Harold is out and someone else is in!
I'm no fan of Reynolds as many who frequent the baseball board know, but I don't think I would ever skip a year of the Show just because he's in the game.

Bright side, I'll finally be able to mute Harold Reynolds, that's almost worth the $60, almost.
