Re: MLB The Show 17 Supports 4K & HDR on PS4 Pro

Quick question for the video gurus here. Would I benefit with a better picture on a ps4 pro with my 32" 1440p Asus monitor than the standard ps4 ? Or would there not be enough improvement to worry about. Thanks gents.

If framerate is the perceived improvement to which you're referring, you can have a 5" screen and it will make equally as much difference. If it's resolution, different story... but based on my seating arrangements even for my 23" LCD, 720p and 1080p were worlds different.

I'd say it would be an improvement, but assuming it's not HDR-ready you would have to provide yourself more reason to get a Pro than that missing bit.

For the record, I caved and got a Pro for a 60" 1080p plasma. Only regrets I have are regarding finances, but I think the framerate alone makes The Show significantly better. However, I feel more like "This is how it should be anyway." Kind of thing the original PS4 is more like a PS4-Lite now, if you know what I mean.

The in game HDR on/off slider makes my HDR banner display properly, but the game itself looks identical.

This explains why my set looks better than ever now. The slider had to be kept so low I was losing out on some of the glory of HDR. And it still looked amazing.

Now that it's defaulted for everyone, it's finally where it should be and I see even more of a difference it's unreal.

I understand why SCEA had to remove the HDR slider. However, I have a TV that flourished with the intensity slider turned up all the way. The game looked fantastic that way. Now with the new default HDR setting it looks washed out and dull by comparison.

I'll miss the amazing HDR...but I am glad that it looks better for many people now. The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few.

              Still a great game.

Couldn't they have just disabled the sliders while in game? It doesn't make sense. I have an 8500 and IMO HDR never looked as good as it should have, at least during day games.

Re: MLB The Show 17 Supports 4K & HDR on PS4 Pro

Hate to ask again, but I had to do a factory reset on my tv due to a update error (Sony Bravia 4K) and I cannot figure out how to enable the enhanced visuals, I remember I had to go through some settings to adjust but i can't remember.
Im getting a message that says my visual mode setting to a higher resolution that my device appears to support. I have the ps4 pro with a 4k tv.
                  Thanks again.

Yeah I'm in the same boat. Ks8000 everything is so much brighter now. It's a shame.

I don't know what you guys had yours at before but mine looks the same, still looks really, really good. I had my HDR slider at max though before.

I was at max before. It's noticeably lighter now. Not a huge deal though. I barely play this game unfortunately.

Maybe it's game mode then. I use enhanced also. 4k is too jumpy. I can't play this game with game mode off though. Input lag is just too much.

The game still looks great. It's clearly brighter though.
