I did this and it looks great on the Ps4 Pro HDR games but now it seems as though non HDR games are way too bright and I get the feeling that the TV doesn't save a separate profile for HDR and SDR.

Is this right? Do you have to adjust this for different HDR vs SDR games? Thanks. Still wrapping my head around this. Oh....by the way....1000 Nits is freaking bright!!!! I never knew!

If you are playing a non hdr game just go back to your standard picture settings with game mode enabled.

Correct. I run back light at 10 normally, and for HDR games I run it up to 20 which is max on my ks8000. When I quit my HDR game I just run it back down to 10 again, that's it.

I just setup my natural preset for non hdr stuff. So I just switch over to that when I don't need hdr enabled.

So there is essentially one stored preset for standard, natural and movie and not a seperate version for hdr? Both suggestions will work but it would be nice to have it saved.

Google it. Tons of people are pretty annoyed by this.

I google it. Guess I'm gonna have to live with it. The odd thing is I feel as though I should be able to toggle between modes when on PS4 input more easily. On most tvs I could choose movie, sports, natural all on the fly and see the effect it has. However if I start with "standard" the enable game mode the ps4 input is stuck there. I cannot even access the other modes until I disable game mode inside there. This seems a little odd. In the past I would have a game mode profile set for gaming and then I'd watch blue rays on the ps4 in movie mode.

The way samsung handles this is a little bizarre but I'll work around it. My LG handled this much better but didn't have the awesome HDR 10 capabilities.

Yeah I misunderstood earlier. When I'm playing a non hdr game on PS4 which rarely ever happens I just lower my back light.

I don't use game mode when using my One S so it's less of a pain for me when playing Xbox.

According to the patch notes they removed the HDR intensity slider. I guess they realized it was causing too much confusion and/or they never had it right from the start.

So are we just all at max intensity now?

I'm dying to know if this fixes the menu glitch where the games gets too bright. Anyone? Stuck at work for 4 hours so cannot test it myself. Thanks.

Also hope it doesn't nerf the HDR too much either. Just got a KS8000 because of its great HDR and especially with the Show. I would hate to have it not look as good all of a sudden.

I also have a KS8000 and am happy to report that the game looks just as gorgeous as it did before. AND, when I went into the menu during a game and messed around with settings everything seemed to stay the same. I hadn't done that in a while for obvious reasons but I remember it being a pretty big difference so I feel confident I would've noticed.

Thanks! I will test it out when I get home. I have about 45 minutes after work before softball tonight. Is it slightly sad that playing a video game seem more exciting right at the moment?

Not with this game it doesn't!

So the slider is completely gone. This scared me but it seems like it looks even better now. I guess whatever they've done it auto detects the hdr setting now?

My game looked good with my slider set where it was but this looks even better now. Don't think I'm just imagining it.
