You do not need to do it that way. You can transfer all data on to an external USB hard drive doing a complete back up. You should then remember to deactivate your console from the system itself so that Sony's systems do not have it linked to your account. Then, factory reset the system, and finally trade it in.

You can then get your PRO, and upload all of your previous PS4 stuff to your new system. When I got my Pro at launch, this is what I did because I wanted to trade it in to help pay for the new system.

If you use Amazon.com for trade in, you have a window of time from when you start the trade you can send in it during. This allows you to get your new system first, and then ship it to them. The same goes for Best Buy and Wal-Mart Trade in via UPS shipping.

I do not know if you get an instant gift card from Best Buy in-store trade in.

I hope this helps people. There are guides available online for how to back up your existing system and other requirements.

Just wanted to mention an easy way to do it. When I got my Pro last week I connected both systems with a LAN cable for the transfer. Took a little over an hour.

Can someone tell me for sure is the Samsung 55' KU6290 4k will work with HDR? I cant seem to find a straight answer... i know its a "budget" 4k but curious if anyone knows if the pro will recognize the HDR?

I don't know anything about this set personally but I found this review that seems to indicate it'd be a set that would for HDR use but doesn't have the full wide color gamut so it's not the best for it either.

What is the price of this TV? I looked at a Samsung KS8000 at Best Buy today and it looks phenomenal. Just can't be putting out over $1,000 for a TV right now.

I have this exact model. I cannot get HDR To work. I don't really mind tho. it was hella cheap $580, and it looks great anyways. maybe there is a setting i am missing, but. for the price. I am tickled, and it made me get a ps4 pro.

You likely need to update the firmware if you haven't already. Have you tried that?
