PS4 has nothing to do with HDR mode. That's on the tv if it can be enabled.

The pro is for the options inside the game.

Pretty sure I tried it all the way up. I always max my backlight and contrast with HDR games. Never had an issue.

I'll try again later and see what happens.

It's my opinion but I've read that from a few credible places such as the AVS forums where they are tv gurus lol.

I also frequent AVS and I know you aren't really supposed to use dynamic contrast, but I think it makes games look better. Yes the colors are a little more saturated and the dark areas lose a little detail but it makes the picture pop and I guess when I am playing video games that's what I like to see. But it's all a matter of personal preference.

Does your tv have a energy saving option or automatic brightness? Try turning that off.

Everyone with ks8000/8500 or above model, set HDR intensity to 100%, save your settings, close the app if in game and leave the settings alone. The picture won't look washed out or too bright. It'll be fine. Make sure your back light is maxed and SMART LED is set to high.

Took this with my phone so sorry if it's hard to see my point, but some things just look dark and weird compared to the rest that looks really good. Look at Cole's back and how dark it is compared to everything else around him

It just seems to me, and maybe its my TV I don't know (I've never had an issue with any game before) that anything that is in a shadow, be it the crowd that's in the shade or a certain part of a player's body, is so dark compared to everything else.

I don't want to sound like an idiot but are you setting HDR intensity from the main menu or in game? Also what app are you referring to? Sorry in advance for the stupidity.

I don't have this issue on any other game so I know it's not my TV. The game looks amazing without HDR so I'm just gonna leave it off. For now anyway.
I'm starting to lean towards leaving it off as well.

Yes, but the full intensity looks best for me. Like you say below and also what I have said, you need to save those settings, then close application, then do it again.

Yeah, I can't get a sweet spot with it on. I don't feel like dealing with it anymore because I tend to get frustrated. And because it looks so good in non-HDR anyway, I'm not even worried about it at this point.

I'm loving enhanced visuals mode. Framerate seem totally fine. And not noticing any aliasing.

HDR setting in the main menu of the game

Closing app meaning the game (like restarting TS17 on your PS4)
