At least something to look into and check out for sure.

You can always manipulate them yourself but you should always change them back when you're done to automatic. The settings change based on an HDR game, a non-HDR game and movie or TV content and if you don't have it on automatic then some things will not look the best that it can.

From my experience, the Pro does a really good job in automatic for resolution settings. Some swear by going either 2160 YU..whatever it is or 2160 RGB, but automatic allows the PS4 to do that for you dependent on what media you are watching and your tv capability.

Kept my X800D settings on max Color and Live Color on High and the picture seemed to get better and better the more I played. By the end of my game, it looked gorgeous. I'll have to change it for other games, but it's an easy adjustment.

One thing I like about my BenQ, that I am gonna miss, is being able to save 3 different settings/configs and switching between them on the fly.

Re: MLB The Show 17 Supports 4K & HDR on PS4 Pro

                FYI

Some Tv's call the backlight setting differently. Sony calls it Brightness. Samsung actually calls it backlight (and brightness refers to Black level).

Make sure you adjust the backlight and keep the black level around default. Maybe that's why it's washing out. Also, keep most settings in Auto on the TV also, including HDMI range or black level. Color Space etc.

The backlight should be maxed, along with any HDR slider (on Sony it's called xtended dynamic range). Samsung sometimes you have to manually (once) change another HDMI setting called Deep Color to ON.

Also some Tv's just aren't proper HDR. They need to be FALD backlighting (edge lit not as good) and they need to reach 1000 nits along with wider color gamut. Some Tv's are falsely advertised as HDR capable (as in they can accept signal) but doesn't mean they handle it properly.

Also make sure your TV firmware is up to date. Some manufacturer's rolled out updates to better address auto settings.

Just to clarify on the above post, Samsung calls it UHD Color and it can be found under expert settings in the picture menu.

What do you set UHD color to?

It's not a slider. It's just a matter of making sure it's on for your input.

I have enhanced visuals on and HDR on but the tv auto dims itself. I tried looking on the tv settings but everything is normal. Anything solution?

Depending on the TV it'll have a different name, but check anything that look like an auto-brightness adjustment setting. These settings take ambient light from the room into account and adjust the brightness setting accordingly. You'll want that off.

                          That might help

Can anyone with a PS4 Pro and a 4K tv let me know if the game looks much better than last year?

I'm playing on the 4K setting and this game looks ridiculously good.
I am the lesson after the fall.

Theres a lot of impressions of this in various threads

Enhanced Visuals mode and 4k mode seem to provide an improved, crisp, gorgeous image on 4k displays
