I mean I'm not complaining, just wanna k now if you guys are seeing the same.

    Thx
Too many bombs, too far. And even with players with low power. And you probably get more hits cause the PCI is so much bigger than MLB 16.

Anyway, we've also a dedicated thread:

I hear you man. Maybe you're guys using PED's...

Others are reporting it but so far I've only seen the two and neither eclipsed the 380 mark. My guys are whimpy...

I'm going to say that this game ball physic get better over time as you start to see different thing and the organic way every hit unfolds.

        Two things bother me though

Under Armor cleats when the light shines on them they sparkle it needs to be more subdued

The choice of "some" stadiums gras and dirt color.

Even though not every stadium looks the same the "alternative sometimes looks worse and id much rather have the same green and dirt present.

For example. Cardinals stadium the grass and dirt are BEAUTIFUl

then go to phillies and its dirty

go to giants stadiums again great grass and dirt color...

Hitting overall seems easier to me but in a fair way. It might be because I am playing on a much better TV but I'm able to get much better at bats and not strike out as much on All Star.

Hitting to me is harder. I've had to go from Rookie to Beginner. And I saw some home runs when I first started playing but those have become very rare now.

re: MLB The Show 17 Impressions

Spent a good half-day playing yesterday, and wow - loving this game.

I'm a 10-year franchise-only veteran player, but dabbled with RTTS.
It was so much more fun than I remembered. I chose to be a closing pitcher, due to my attention span, and it's super fun.

I started a fantasy draft Franchise w/ Legends, w/ the A's. Opening Day was super fun, but like some others have mentioned, we had about 5 HR's in the game, including a couple super clutch ones. I'll see how it progresses, and move a slider down if necessary.

I did move my "CPU Strike Frequency" slider to 3, as I always do. Getting good at-bats that way.

Waiting for those final rosters and final patches to begin my Orioles 'chise!

I agree, the more you play the hit variety really starts to show. Also line drive homeruns look soooo good this year.

I'm a pure analog guy playing on Veteran hitting. I have yet to hit a homer in 4 full games and a number of critical situations.

So far in Diamond Dynasty the only way I am scoring runs for the most part is homeruns and I am hitting a ton of them. Way more than last year. In my first three games I hit 11 homers. I get that it's an all star team but dudes keep quitting on me. I went back to back to back in my second game. What's up wit dat? Love hitting them but man oh man it just seems excessive. I love scoring with tons of basehits and doubles not but exclusively homeruns.

The honeymoon period is in full swing but I gotta say I’m loving ’17. Waiting for OSFM rosters to start my Franchise but have played maybe 8-10 Play Now and some RTTS games. Really enjoying it.

+ Ball Physics. This is the big game changer this year. Hit variety is incredible.
+ Graphics. Flat out gorgeous visuals. Standard PS4 on a 65” non-HDR HDTV. Framerates are vastly improved. Colors just pop. And the whites are actually vibrant white this year. Last year, white looked a dingy light gray.
+ Animations. Seeing tons of new animations. I’ve seen some jaw-dropping double plays turned.
+ Menus. Front end menus are better organized and easier to navigate.
+ Presentation. MLB Network is great and brings authenticity to the game but to be honest, the other two broadcast themes look really good too. Score bugs, overlays, and transitions are all are nicely done.

                        - Commentary is just okay for me. Already hearing some repetition, especially from Reynolds. With new voices coming on board, I suppose that is to be expected the first year. Karros and Lyons had a number of years of accumulated voice work in there, building to the database each subsequent year. We started over with two new voices so it will take time starting from scratch.

                        Some random thoughts-

Will need some good slider adjustment. For my first Play Now game out of the box, I threw a complete game, one hitter with KC’s Danny Duffy. Yeah, okay, maybe. But it was his record breaking 21 strike outs that seemed a bit much.

CPU AI seems pretty solid but I’ve seen more than a few outfielders miss on diving attempts to catch a fly, with the ball then rolling to the wall. I’m hoping those aren’t overdone because, while it does occasionally happen IRL, so far the number of incidences feel a bit excessive in game.

Overall, this game has caused some serious sleep deprivation this week and I’m not seeing that change for some time. Great job, SDS. Truly a masterpiece.

I second this. Hit an opposite field homer with Freeman at Wrigley that was on a rope and it was a thing of beauty!

re: MLB The Show 17 Impressions

I've played about 10 games so far and here is how I feel about this years game.

Like so many of you have already said THIS IS BASEBALL!!!

First off the ball physics are truly a sight to be hold. It makes the game play differently in a fantastic way. It just makes The Show look and act so much more like a real life baseball game now. You finally now can "for the most part" get those doubles and triples on hit types like into the corners like you would in real baseball. I say for the most part because I did see a hit down into the right field corner wall where the CPU batter stopped at first base without even attempting to try for a double. I am pretty sure in real life just about any batter would have tried for 2. So there is still some improving that needs to be done in this area but it is a lot better then in 16! Also I am still seeing to many of those little hits right in front of home plate where the catcher quickly gets up and throws the batter out at first base. But just about everything else about the ball physics is wonderful in 17 again when you hit the ball it really acts like a real baseball now more then ever before!

Also the game play just feels so buttery smooth in 17. More then ever before all the players seem to really feel like there real life counter part. I am talking about Speed, Arm strength, Batting skills and so on for CPU and human controlled. On hits to first base the pitchers still have a lot of trouble covering first base unfortunately which leads to the batter being safe when they probably should be out.

The graphics are better then ever. Player model bodies are better and the faces are mind blowingly better. Somehow the lighting just gets better and better every year and 17 is the best yet. I will say though one thing that annoys me is that while some stadiums have really nice looking grass and dirt like Wrigley Field and AT&T Park others like my fav in "real life" Citizens Bank Park for example has ugly grass and dirt! And speaking of stadium updates I am not sure what the deal is here but Citizens Bank Park once again just got a few small updates. Now don't get me wrong i'll take what I can get and am thankful to Sony that they did update a few things at least even though they are small. My issue is I and some others here have been sending in screen shots of the things that need updating in Citizens Bank Park for like the last 5+ years and almost none of the updates that are needed did not make it in 17 either. So many other stadiums got a lot of important updates like new LED boards and so on. Not really sure what the hold up is for Citizens Bank Park? After a while it starts to feel like a waste of time posting the updated screen shots in the stadium feedback threads that Sony them self's ask us to to every year. Maybe 18 will be the year Citizens Bank Park finally gets the updates it needs?

The biggest shock for me after playing MLB The Show 17 is the The commentary is actually very listenable this year! The new color commentary guys are so much better then in years past. They are very informative and are actually very interesting to listen to and you can learn something from them too. However there are already lots and lots of repeat lines that are very noticeable. However even Matty V sounds better in 17. Not as good as the new color commentary guys but non the less an improvement! For the first time ever I am excited for what the future holds as far as commentary goes. This may be the first time I may actually not turn off commentary while playing at least for a while anyway.

There are a lot of new welcomed gameplay and presentation animations which make the game look more then ever like real life baseball! However there is one key area that really needs improvement. The only time you really see players give their team mates high fives is during the Home Run sequence. You never see players give high fives for example when runners on base are knocked in on a single or a double and heading into the dug out or crossing home plate. All you ever see is the batter standing at first, second or third base. You also never see batter high five the first base coach or other coaches after the hit unless it's during the Home Run sequence. We really need more emotion shown from players when getting base hits and knocking in runs not just for the batter and the on base runners as well. Also that odd looking outfield catch animation where he almost runs past a fly ball and reaches across his chest to catch the ball should be removed and replaced with a better animation.

I like the new MLB Network presentation package it was much needed. However it really needs studio updates, Pre and Post game show and perhaps a Sideline reporter as well. O and a female would be nice! Also it is a little buggy like sometimes the overlay that pops out of the MLB Network Scorebug is sometimes blank or gets frozen too.

I am glad we have HDR support and after fine tuning my Sony XBR43X800D I like the results for the most part. In fact at times MLB The Show 17 looks really amazing!!! However I am not sure if it's just my TV or the game itself but when HDR is enabled some font is very hard to read on some menus. Like for for example the font on the swing timing info window is faded out in the MLB Network presentation and Theme 1. It seems ok for Theme 2 though. So I know this is year one for HDR so it looks like Sony needs to fix some of the font on the presentations when HDR is being used.

Not much else to say at this point other then MLB The Show 17 is the real deal! It is definitely not perfect but then again it probably never will be. But it is no doubt in my mind the greatest baseball video game BY FAR to date!!! It is just so fun, realistic and addicting. If you love or even just like "SIM Baseball" a little bit you need this game ASAP!!!

                            Side Notes

While it may be "cool" MLB The Show does not need Slow Motion affects for close plays at second or third while trying to steal a base. And please give us the option to turn it off and the Home Run Cam as well! Keep MLB The Show a SIM no need for Arcade type stuff! Also please stop trying to speed up everything in presentation mode! I want to see the catcher throw the ball back to the pitcher more often. I want to see more foul balls land in the seats. And finally I want to see more batter walk ups to home plate!

Almost forgot I want to also thank Sony for giving us an option to turn off the new pitching feedback result over the meter! We should have turn off options for almost everything in this wonderful game!

Yeah posted this in the slider thread but I am drawing walks like never before. And I really feel like keeping all the pitcher accuracy related sliders on default lets the pitchers try to execute their gameplan instead of the game making them throw more balls/mistake pitches which is great.

Faced the Red Sox/Sale in one game. Drew four walks in the first three innings - he went out in the 4th after giving up 7 runs. Ended up taking nine walks total in the game. Pretty sure there were weeks in previous franchise modes where I didn't draw 9 walks.

This was a small thing last year but yeah it looks way more prevalent this year. Was facing Milwaukee and Ryan Braun was a good 20 feet early on a fastball.

At the end of the day its not a huge deal for me (a swinging strike is a swinging strike), but it does look a bit weird.
